Well, the bid wall at 3500 just fell after the step at 3650 fell a few hours ago. Yesterday I added 3000 EXE to the large bid of 15,417 sitting at 3500 by itself for a day to bring the total up to 18,417. A full day later, not one other person had added to the bid wall at that price. A few minutes ago the large bid was pulled, leaving my 3000 EXE exposed. After 800 of my EXE quickly sold, I pulled back the remainder. The bid now stands at 3444.

I think it's safe to say this campaign has failed. I'm moving on.

Here is the Cryptsy EXE bid wall as of about an hour ago, using data from the Cryptsy order book http://pubapi.cryptsy.com/api.php?method=singleorderdata&marketid=183:

http://i.imgur.com/dv86UyK.png

Notice the nice wall being constructed at 3500 satoshi, with help from a step at 3650. The wall is about 40,000 EXE in height (1.4 BTC). My guess at the minimum height of a rock-solid wall capable of withstanding a modest assault would be at least 1% of the coin supply (5877450 EXE * 0.01 = 58,775 EXE or 2.06 BTC). A bomb-proof wall capable of withstanding a tsunami-scale attack would probably require 10% or 20 BTC. If we can get to 2 BTC, that would be a good start, and we're most of the way there already.

If we are successful with this campaign, the next question would be when and how much to move the wall. We could have an ongoing discussion and move the wall by consensus, or we could have a guideline that requires no further discussion. For example: "When the bid wall reaches X percent of the outstanding coin supply, advance the wall 100 satoshi. If the wall falls to X/2 due to an attack, retreat 100 satoshi." This formula automatically accounts for the steadily increasing coin supply, and requires no ongoing discussion unless the formula needs to be changed. If the chosen height X proves to be too small, we can double it.

Let's make the buy wall at 3650 the floor!  If you believe in EXE, then throw even a .1BTC buy order up at 3650.  A few BTC stacked close on the buy side is what this coin needs to keep the network power up and this coin strong.

I've been watching the big order (15,000+ EXE ~ .5 BTC) @  3500 satoshi since yesterday to see if it would grow or move. It's stayed at about the same price and size. I think it helped support the EXE price when it broke down through 4000 satoshi yesterday. Right now there are eight 1000-5000 EXE orders just above the big one. Maybe some of these are altcoin mining profits intended to be coverted to EXE but they also add to the wall being so close to it.

I've just put in a bid for 3000 EXE @ 3500, to increase the bid there to 18,417 (0.645 BTC), having sold my NXT position to raise some BTC. I don't necessarily want to sell those BTC right now (for the sake of diversification), but I'm willing to risk them on the bid wall.

I'm continuing to mine profitable altcoins and buying EXE with the BTC proceeds, usually in the gap between the ask and bid price on Cryptsy. I was mining FLT but after only a day the price dropped too much, so I looked for others. I tried to join manicminer.in (as recommended by reddit user /u/winterm) but my cgminer didn't work with them as they warned. I tried switching to bfgminer but couldn't get it working so I started looking elsewhere.

I found a nice multi-coin pool hash-to-coins.com. It's small but it's been working well so far with cgminer. This pool tracks the most profitable coins and allows you to switch between them (or split your workers between several) with a few mouse clicks. I've been mining FLAP for a day, although right now transactions are frozen due to a hard fork. The operator of hash-to-coins.com is right on top of it. For the first time I've tried withdrawing my coins directly to an exchange (Poloniex in this case). I thought this was not recommended but it's working fine for me and saves the trouble of going through my wallet, or even needing a wallet.

Great! Let's start with a simple objective, a proof of concept, and go from there once we see what we can do, how big a wall we can build together.

Let's try to take and hold 0.00004 BTC/EXE on the bid side. I'm about to put in a bid at this price, using my FLT mining proceeds since yesterday. Here are the order stacks on Cryptsy right now:

I'll place a bid to buy 250 EXE (I have a small rig) @ 0.00004 BTC. This will take out the 39 EXE order at the top of the ask stack, but the remaining 211 probably won't last long. I'll do the same tomorrow. If I see a wall form at 0.00004, I'll add some BTC I have in reserve to support the wall.

I have updated the reddit look and feel. Let me know what I am missing or can add. Also if any links are broken.

Anyone know how I can add the stock ticker and price and diff to the banner...?

Here's how it was done on /r/vertcoin: http://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/1zabvh/tutorial_how_to_get_the_current_price_of_your/

The page looks nice! Thanks for including the link to the EXEtipbot on the sidebar. (I'm running the bot, although it hasn't been used much.)

I just created an account on CoinMarket.io and logged in, but can't access my wallet. The "Wallet" link on the menu bar at the top of the page doesn't work (nor does "Trade History", "Settings" and "Logout").

I'm new to switcher coin (just got my first LTC payout yesterday), but I wonder if it's possible to get a payout directly in DOGE. I haven't found documentation for the Dogecoin Details screen. There is a Payment Address field where I assume I can put a DOGE address and get an automatic payout (minumum 5000 DOGE). Could someone confirm this? And what is the API key just above this field for? Is that related to payout or just for checking DOGE balance?

Isn't that the default? you would only get LTC payout if you had switched the "auto convert" to enable.

Thanks for confirming. I went ahead and put my DOGE address in the "Payment Address" field, set the "Automatic Payout Threshold" to 5000 (minimum) and my DOGECOIN was immediately sent from switchercoin. By the time I opened my DOGECOIN wallet, the coins were already there (unconfirmed). It took less than ten minutes to get 3 confirmations.

This was much faster than the seven hours it took to get my LTC two days ago.
