Hi!
I have Auto exchange from xmr to zec.
And now some xmr are in state "On exchange" for 2 days. Is it normal?

I have also had coins stuck "on exchange" for 3 days and am now starting to become concerned

Oh and also.. If you decide to utilize all of the available space and free electricity, definitely invest in a SRR from simplemining.net. This thing is a fucking godsend man! I can't tell you how much time, gas, and money (both spent for gas and wasted while rigs were down) it saved me. If your not on location, and really even if you are, this thing is a no brainer!

BTW where in the office are you housing the rigs?

Totally understood, profitability is the biggest concern obviously since I dont know how long this sweet deal will last. I can trade the currencies myself on the exchange. I guessa  better question would be, why switch to Ethereum if you could generate more Zcash coins with your new rig? Just for the risk of zcash dropping off?

I am mining ZCash on my old 280X rigs because they are only 3GB cards which isn't really enough to mine Ethereum (put 12 280x cards into whattomine.com), but newer cards have more memory etc. and can mine ethereum more effectively.

Currently, I am keeping my ZCash, but when I get new rigs I will mine Ethereum as I personally believe Ethereum has a brighter future than ZCash. (But that is my own opinion)

Also, as highlighted above, once you get your mining rig working and not crashing, LEAVE IT ALONE! I can't tell you how many times I have tried to tweak my rigs chasing that extra MH/s, only to have it start crashing again (even when I change the settings back to what they were before), which costs more than the profits of the extra hashes. Rigs can be temperamental things...

Seriously, unless you are willing to spend hours upon hours of trial and error troubleshooting.. Listen to this people!

Re: When will you throw in the towel?

Definitely in it for the long haul. Think after I grasped the depth and realized the potential for crypto and mining in my mind there was no thought of throwing in the towel really; probably more along the lines of "adapt or die".

I guess I just really believe that if you want the world to change, then you have to be willing to change it. I sold off a good chunk of 2 of my companies to get the necessary capital to begin expanding my farm, so as I have a fair bit of money invested already I think that definitely added to my bias of not giving up on it.

Haha as they say.. if you want to take the island, burn the boats.

I couldn't find my ledger nano until about 20 min ago and 90% of my holdings were in altcoins... Is there anything I can do?

I assume not, but figured if I was going to ask, I'd ask here

Re: [Mining OS] SimpleMining.net - Easy to use GPU MINING Operating System

Has anyone tried using SimpleMining with the TB250-BTC board? I can't seem to get more than 3 cards working without getting PCIE bus errors and I've tried most troubleshooting changes in the bios.

I just want someone who is living proof that someone is using this board with simplemining OS, who is using this motherboard and can you list the bios settings any other settings you've changed in order to get 6 cards running ?  Huh Huh Huh Huh

i've found that adding a linux command 'pci=nomsi' gets rid of the error messages but i'm unsure of how healthy / stable that is.

I am the living proof it is possible. A pain in the ass and kinda confusing tbh.. But yeah, it is possible mate!

Re: Friends coming at me with 40-50k to invest into mining rigs
by

A friend wants to get into mining...he knows I use to mine Bitcoin...he has 40-50k to invest into mining rigs.

I told him about the risks...we are meeting later today to talk more about this.

He already has a warehouse...and 50k is not that much to him, but as a business person you never want to lose ANY money.

I think he can make the money back, but it may take 6-12 months; and as you miners know, NOTHING is guaranteed.

What do you think, bad time? Isn't it always a bad time?

Also, what should I charge, I will be doing everything including maintaining the rigs...I was thinking 15-20%.

I am in a scenario very much like yours and am very curious as to where your head is at with it all.

For me, I've been mining as a hobby for a year and a half or so but have been into crypto since I discovered silk road lol.. But I was constantly trying to get my family to shift their holdings into something that offered a more secure store of value with an extremely high upside with prices rising over the years.

Now they've all shown up on my front door wanting to throw money at me lol

Trying to decide how best to go about this mitigating risk as much as possible as even though I have been fortunately successful trading, we all know it might as well be gambling some days. Your input would be greatly appreciated

Curious about it too.  I think I read that it did not have an external power connector meaning all power is provided over the PCIe slot itself.  I suspect that will severely limit what these can do.  But wouldn't mind hearing first hand reports.

I recently decided to experiment with the 550/560 2 and 4gb models. vI had 2 560 4gb, 1 560 2gb, 1 550 4gb, and 1 550 2gb.

Not only is it a very profitable coin, but it also, in my opinion, will start to spike up in the next months let alone years so it works well for me.

The hashrates are roughly the following:

550 2gb 85-90
560 2gb 105-110

550 4gb 115-120
560 4gb 130-136

The reason I even purchased them was because I had a few extra mobo's and cpu's etc at my house, and the electricity is is pretty damn low. Not to mention the insanity of prices for all decent mining cards lately.

And I felt this was a great hypothesis to test because I mined with them for 29 days and returned them on day 30 Tongue

Still profitable even with top tier electricity, but it was more just for kicks

Hey guys, I cannot for the life of me figure out why my miners are all getting 99% of the decred shares rejected.

It seems this is a somewhat common issue but I havent found a solution that has worked for me so far. Any and all help/link direction is much appreciated
