Re: Preliminary Scam Accusation against Cryptopia for holding customers funds
by

on 26/04/2018, 07:41:18 UTC
Thread UPDATE:
GBYTE wallet on Cryptopia is ACTIVE and trading resumed. I will keep the thread open for a while but I am going to change the subject since Cryptopia solved the issue.
Please post your withdrawals, trading, deposit experiences here if you wish.
And within a month itself, the trading seems to be still active but bytebal deposits are again having issues while depositing .

My deposit of .578 gbytes is stuck now and the support just gave me a very generic reply that they will see to it. I recommend everyone to stay away from the exchange as it lacks professionalism.
I had a brief period of relief reading the title with the magic (for me) word "Solved". But my happiness is short lived. Hunt continues.

Lol, this isnt going to be a big deal if their team is responsive regarding the issue. You know the most frustrating thing when experiencing this kind of problem?, is when you are not recieving a single update after you opened the ticket. What you only get is a computer generated generic reply, after that everything was like being ignored.
The most essential part of having a business is customer service, without customers business will die. I hope they will realize how critical this issue against them.
No doubt about the customer service part. All the successful companies have awesome customer service as the major secret to their success.

It really does not matter. Trust is broken, investors mocked for trusting them. This was totally uncalled for especially at a time when every ICO, no matter how legit it is, is looked upon as a scam by everyone, everywhere. Was it plain stupidity or audacity or both?

mcafee himself said on the bad crypto podcast he gets paid 125k per advertised tweet
Wonder what kind of projects would afford that whopping figure.

AFAIK such acts are encouraged by demand created by some members unable to resist the temptation of breaking forum rules. LOL.

According to the linkedin account of Mr. Karol Kozlowski, He is a former Senior Manager Credit Card (November 2014 - June 2017). I think Pawel Goch don't want to talk about fud and accusations so he didn't reply to your messages. I also wanted to know the proof of contacting ABLV bank that they had no employee named Karol Kozlowski, it's easy to make accusations here in the internet, i just want more proof to share with the community if it's legit or not. Thanks.

Hi, you are correct in stating "it's easy to make accusations here in the internet". I looked up their website and ICObench ratings are awesome. Reviews by experts rating this ICO are clearly worded. I am not paid by this ICO or an investor. Just a guy looking for a decent exchange to trade on. Love to see some proof of allegations too.

Lame excuses regarding escrow and whats with "we decided to escrow the campaign by ourself". How do you do it without hving an escrow service. AFAIK and can understand Lauda did not refuse to escrow; just did not have the time to review the ICO, 2 completely different matters.

So it would be nice if someone would clarify if this issue of 0.5 BTC was resolved with the email sent by the exchange and if the email was received by OP.
No one knows, this topic has been continued with Email and PMs between op and simplefx, if you really eager to know you need to PM op about it.
He's still online fairly recently, he should be able to answer your pm.
I take it that you have an issue with SimpleFX or just curious?
I don't have any issue as yet. Seriously scouting around for good exchanges to trade on.

OMG. It seems like a zero sum game is anyday better than letting exchanges like this simply freeze not only profits made but also the principal amount itself; all under the name of some vaguely worded regulations. Hunt continues.

Sorry to read about your losses. I am trying to find a decent exchange for trades. If cryptopia and Hitbtc are out according to what I have read so far, any suggestions for a good safe exchange that also lets my funds be secure without eyeing to lock them down.

Re: Scam on Twitter (offpromobtc.com & offpromoeth.com)
by

Sorry to hear OP, that you were scammed this way.

Twitter is flooded with these scam comments these days, and it's good practice to never send random people money that you see on twitter anyways. Telegram has had its fair share of impersonators, with multiple scam ICOs posing as Telegram's official ICO and scamming investors this way.

As SFR10 said, the scammer used a fake twitter account to do this. He didn't actually take over the real Pavel Durov's twitter account. It's a common tactic for scammers on twitter to comment on popular exchanges, crypto public figures, and crypto wallet's tweets and promise to grow your funds x times. They are invariably all scam.

Seems like you were the only person to send any BTC to the BTC site, and there was one person that sent 1 ETH to the ETH version. Hopefully nobody else falls for this, and good luck in recovering your funds, though it's unlikely since a variety of fake identities are probably used.
True. Had a similar experience but did not lose much. So I frequently visit this forum to learn lessons of avoiding another fall. Sad to see how people find new ways to scam innocent folks.

The funniest part is that they called the traders scammers. Did they not do due diligence prior to first listing the coins? Strange that some think that the Fed or another such US entity would be involved in operating/controlling exchanges.

Re: My Bittrex account has been disabled.

My account disabled too with no any reasonable reason.
About week support not response. And I can't spent my BTC on account when damp is come.
So, I think bittrex just steal my money! No any excuse for them.
1. Did you verify your account before transferring any BTC into it?
2. Did you send them  identification docs?
3. Did you set up the two factor verification?

Please tell me more because I am curious why they are freezing accounts. thank you.
