Hey everyone,

How do you check amount of coins in the wallet on terminal screen? I do not have gui access.

Go to your biblepay directory (cd biblepay/src). If you are already running a daemon, type
Code:
./biblepay-cli getbalance
else type the command below to start your daemon and wait till it syncs
Code:
./biblepayd -daemon
To explore other commands enter
Code:
./biblepay-cli help

[New Proposal Added]

I don't have a sanctuary yet since my coins are stuck in C-Cex, but testing out the proposals in the meantime. (Thanks Togo for the nudge)
Here's my proposal for my auto pool mining script back in October.

http://forum.biblepay.org/index.php?topic=56.msg920#msg920

Feel free to vote yes or no.
Cheers,

sanctuary owner maybe say no to you because they don't need mining.

This was created 2 months ago and I'm sure many in the forum used it, since I got a bunch of messages about it.

Definitely, The sanctuaries are here to decide what they deem is worthy and what's not. Would be happy to act as the first neutral proposal that gets both the votes from the sanctuaries.
"The process is more important than the outcome".

Maybe it is good time to consider in wallet trade for btc or have a middleman for C2C trade.

Definitely, In-wallet peer to peer trading is something Masternodes(Sanctuaries) can be used for along with the DAO. A good exchange or another trading option is a necessity for our community. Used C-CEX for the first time and it's probably one of the worst exchanges out there in terms of reliability and experience.

This is a crucial period for the project, our only trading option can't be offline for 30 days.

Hi @bible_pay,

Can you update C-CEX and bring them back online for withdrawal, many of our coins are stuck their and looks like the C-CEX guys will be off for the holidays.
Please bring it back online since that's our only exchange.
In fact, I would suggest listing on a better exchange should be our top priority.

Unfortunately C-CEX will be down for 30 days.  From what I understand there will be no way to deposit or withdraw from any wallet there.

The website says December 20th to Jan 20th, Maybe we still have time until tomorrow for it to be enabled at least for a short period of time. 30 days delay to withdraw our BBP is infeasible for any of us, especially since many bought coins for the MN.  Let me know how I can help. Thanks

TRYING TO SELL BIBLEPAY...the saga continues ...

This is both hilarious and equally informative post for some reason. Smiley
I didn't know CCEX 's fee structure and minimum order limits as I haven't sold any.
PM me your bbp address.

If you would like me to create you a right side up one of these for your project or advertising campaign PM me Smiley lol

im so happy this forum has an ignore feature. its right under the user name.

so they can keep posting this nonesense but no one will see it lol

Even better, you can report these kind of posts as spam using the 'Report to Moderator' button at the bottom ride of the users.
Helps keep the forum clean.

How exactly is it spam? I was offering this project my services, was offering to create them a cross using their coins name Smiley

This is not spam.

Well your first message was a typical troll/spammer post for which you were referred to details of the project hoping you would join the community.
Your second message was an unnecessarily formatted message without any context. I'm right to assume that you're just posting spam posts across forums based on your post history. I wouldn't have said anything if you posted the way you posted now. And my advice wasn't limited to you but for any spammy posts in general.

Apologies if you are genuinely interested in the project and thus offering to help, just so you know there's no premine to offer any payments for your said posts.

Hi @Kayaman85, thanks for stopping by and offering your feedback Smiley

You should checkout the front page for additional details about the project, the whitepaper (http://pool.biblepay.org/Docs/BiblePay_White_Paper.pdf) details all the new and unique features that Biblepay offers.
Here are the details about all the orphans and children who are benefiting from Biblepay every month. http://accountability.biblepay.org/
There's even a faucet(10 BBP) for you to start with.

If you like the code but have different beliefs, feel free to fork the https://github.com/biblepay/biblepay repo to create your own.
Have a blessed day.

Hi all, a question about backups...

3) Can I generate and see the private key so that I can write it down/print it and store it somewhere safe?

Many thanks

Other than the points West mentioned about the benefits of encrypting the wallet, if you really want to get the private key for your address, it's an option too since you can possibly store multiple private keys for multiple addresses and coins in a single sheet of paper.

On Linux, you can do so by typing
Code:
./biblepay-cli dumpprivkey "your bbp address"
Hope that helps.

I like the above logo as well. Looks subtle and clean.

@west can you ask the designer to try few different dual tone color combinations on the same logo, that would give us more options.
If not, I can try and do it myself when you get the source file.

nananaminer  i doubt that 2GB RAM is problem.... all my machines on mining got 2GB RAM and when manually compiled script, worked....this is any bug in BASH
It's definitely a 'out of memory' error. I've tested and used the bash script multiple times without any issue.

This is your error "internal compiler error: Killed (program cclplus)",
Check every link here https://www.google.com/search?q=internal+compiler+error%3A+Killed+(program+cclplus) , they all point to memory issue.

But if it's working if you compile it manually, maybe the 'make -j4' command is running on more threads than the cpu cores you have.
You can try editing the script [Line 44] to change it to just 'sudo make' instead of 'sudo make -j4'.

This is due to the compiler running out of memory(RAM).
Try clearing out any other programs occupying the memory or install in a Virtual Machine/PC that has more memory.

And here are the more iconic logos in a 2nd poll.

https://www.freelancer.com/contest/poll-MTE1NzAwNDoy

Out of all the previous ones, 351 and 311 are good. It'll look better with a different font face though.
I personally like minimal designs, my preference for the logo is something that incorporates all the values but not literally embed them all over the logo.
If we want to be a top-50 coin, we need to show the values but also have a modern touch to it.

@bible_pay Any reason for sticking with the current color swatches? I'm sure we can get more creative ones with a little bit of experimentation and creative freedom.
Brighter colors stand out and can help with more discoverability.

Donated 10,000 BBP to west (BGtF8NTiUF3cTMJ62Ps7G1wtYU7sD5nkvG) for the contest. Thanks for your help!

A New wallet always take hours to compile but is fun ;-)

To speed up the compile time, add -j4 or -j8 after make. This way it compiles using 4 or 8 threads instead of just 1.

./configure LDFLAGS="-L${BDB_PREFIX}/lib/" CPPFLAGS="-I${BDB_PREFIX}/include/"

sudo make -j8

@inblue I am sorry to see you go, you have been a valuable member of the forum, appreciate your help here so far.

@bible_pay I am sure there's a big misunderstanding here, inblue has been very active here and his/her hash probably helped the pool mine more blocks in which all of us smaller miners benefitted from. He/She could've kept the 'hack' to themselves but the whole experiment was posted here for all to see and also he/she has been more valuable than 80% of the accounts here including me.

Please reserve resorting to banning someone only if the account is malicious or useless, I personally don't see anything inblue posted here as disruptive to the community, inblue has every right to be on the forum. This is a decentralized project which will go autonomous come December, by casting away useful users, the community will only become worse.

If anyone's setting up a new pool, I am happy to distribute the hash to it.

Not sure if I am missing the info anywhere but is it possible to mine using software other than the wallet? Cpuminer? sgminer? ccminer? etc?

Currently there are no external miners for the coin because the algorithm is really unique and even takes into account that you are running a node, so for now one has to run a node and mine using the in-built miner.

If you want to setup a node fast and start mining on the pool, I had put up a script for linux to do so.

Spreading the trading thin on multiple exchanges is not good for a small volume coin.  Additionally, since the coin is so young and things change from time to time, exchanges look down on having to go offline to redo mandatory wallets.  The thing that has been talked about is after Masternodes (Sanctuaries) go online in late December, the Dev (well, the DAO at that point) will look at adding more exchanges.  Hopefully by then, volume/pricing will be sufficient to maintain a healthy trade on more than one exchange.  Right now with the price hovering at 11 to 13 satoshi it takes a lot of volume to make it worth an exchange's time.  We are getting by on C-Cex since they consider us a charity style coin and not quite subject to their normal rules.  The hope is that Masternodes will be the jump start to move this coin forward to the point where it becomes reasonable to be on more than one exchange.

That seems fair enough. I don't want to trade on C-Cex (at least not yet) and I don't think I can buy on the biblepay website, so I will try to get mining set up for now so I can get some of this coin.
I dont think we can offer website trading due to trading regulations per county, except, we can offer a free faucet.  Im going to eventually airdrop 1 million BBP through a google campaign, as long as the user downloads the wallet, eventually when I get a chance.

@bible_pay What are your thoughts on connecting Biblepay with Bitcoin/Litecoin through a lightening network. Will offer a p2p option to deposit and buy. as well as can make the coin an easy destination for charitable donations, one can setup, say 0.001 BTC to be donated every month via Biblepay and it can be ran it through the DAO.  What are the technical challenges and feasibility constraints?

Feel it can provide a more connected ecosystem with other established coins and also creating more value + exposure for Biblepay. I like Vertcoin's lightening network with litecoin as a means to make micro transactions, same way Biblepay can be setup for micro donations. Would like to hear the community's thoughts on this.
