My experience is any modern liquid cooler fitted with a high CFM server fans will work fine.  The fans the come with the kits are 50-70 CFM and I am including two 250 CFM fans with each board.

I have few Habanero miners to part with (need to make electrical room for new miners).  I need the power supplies and coolers for another project.  

Asking price is $200 US in BTC for each board, shipped in the US, international extra.  These boards have been happily hashing at 640+ GH/s since June.  
I also have some Delta 250 CFM server fans I'll throw in for free for each board purchased.

Escrow OK (at buyers expense).

AP9571 is one example but there are plenty of other models which work equally well.  New ones are $150+ but used ones tend to go for $30 to $50 each.  A basic PDU is pretty much a high current power strip with a breaker.  It pretty much works or it doesn't so I have never had a problem buying used.

You will need to install* a 30A double pole breaker and NEMA L6-30R outlet for each one.  The AP9571 comes prewired with a matching NEMA L6-30P plug.  By the NEC, continual loads are derated 20% so you only get 24A usable from a 30A branch circuit.  One circuit (breaker, branch wiring, outlet, pdu) is good for 5.76KW (240V * 30A * 80%) which is probably more than most people can handle.  Remember electricity in = heat out.   So for those with dreams of building 100KW farms I would say start "small" you can build out in 5.76KW segments.  Even 5.76KW is a lot of heat.


* I can be done DIY, I put two in so I could power a 11KW GPU farm but this isn't a beginner project.  Remember electricity kills instantly and without warning.  Parts on the inside of the circuit breaker panel may remain energized with lethal voltage even if breakers are off.  It isn't a nuclear reactor but it does require some competence and good tools never hurt.

I know these datacenter PDUs are suppose to be feed 208V but if we feed them 240V will they still work and work without failure?

Bitmain will tell you to open up the case and reseat the plugs from control board to hashing board. 99% of the time that will fix your problem.

Opened the case up and reseated all connectors.  No visible damage.  One side is still cold to the touch.

Quick Question.

Any one else having their S3 report only one working blade.

I've tried
-different power supply
-multiple reboots
-different pci-e plugs
-Currently power all 4 pci-e plugs with a 1600 watt supply

I've filed a ticket with Bitmain but nothing yet.

Anyone have any suggestions short of opening the box and checking connections.

Quick question for Mr. Teal.

I noticed the board has several 4 pin fan clusters.  How much power is available at each of these for fans.  I have a few 3.3A 12V server fans.  Can I power these off the board or should I just use  dedicated power from the supply?  Also how much power is available for the pins labeled pump, since I'm thinking of cutting my H100i SATA power cable and making it fit a 4 pin fan connector.

I agree.  Look for some old server fans on that big auction website.
I prefer Nidec fans, but pick the ones you like. 
For example a Nidec 4 wire, ta450DC 3.3A fan is capable of 220 CFM at full power (it does sound like a jet engine).  But any good PWM (4 wire) fan speed controller can balance sound and cooling.  These fans will give excellent pressure across any liquid cooling radiator, much better than stock.  You may need some longer mounting screws since these are typically 38mm thick. 

The best part is they are about $10 shipped and will run forever since they were designed for servers

Around $40 each depending on where in the world they are shipped and if coolers are included.  Cheaper with just boards since the package is much lighter and smaller. Each deal was customized.

UPDATE -- all have sold.  Half here and half on that 'other' auction site.  As always the shopper here got much better deals than the at the 'other' site.

Looking to sell some BLF chip based Chili miners
Currently have 8 5 hashing away and cooling them is getting expensive as the outside air gets warmer

I am based in the US so I can include free US shipping (not AK, PR or HI).  International, we'll have to work something out.

Each includes a two antec kuhler shelf cpu coolers and one Chili Board.  $50 $40 shipped in BTC at the bitstamp price

If anyone wants just the board (no cooler) they can be had cheaper since they are smaller to ship.

It is good and bad...depends on each persons situation.

First are you a US taxpayer...

If yes, then it depends on whether you mine or buy/sell.

Buy/sell are easy.  If you by at one price and sell for another you have a gain/lose of the difference.

If you mine then Q8 of the release applies; then I read it as the IRS thinks we should realize the gain when "mined" based upon some exchange price.  This is nearly impossible, since each pool pays a tiny fraction of a bitcoin with each block solved.  Most pools don't keep exact enough records to know when each tiny fraction of a bitcoin was paid to each user.  I only know when I sent the accumlated tiny fraction to my personal wallet.

Does anyone see it differently?

After playing with different values for each chip.  I can varied Hash increases and associated HW errors. 

What is a acceptable HW error?  I'm trying to quantify if my hashing increase is just being wasted as HW errors.
