I had day that when the price rises for them. Short most of coins and invest in other coins that are good but available at below  their fair price. Till then study other coins and keep eye on the good ones

Re: Should I invest to Ripple?

Ripple has backing of a strong organisation so it has a solid foundation. But, since it is not decentralised there are suspicions about the organisation profiting from it. Nonetheless, it is a good coin to have in your portfolio

Pump groups carry a risky business. It's better to buy coins with good concept and hold them for long

Gambling in cryptocurrency may be a good thought but I think it is far from parcticality. For instance how easy it is to get and be able to use bitcoin

Re: Bitcoin is DEAD - But the Alt-s are SKY-ROCKETING to the Moon!

Maybe it's a cycle, sometimes bitcoin rises and sometimes it drops while other altcoins do. But wait, sometimes bitcoin & altcoins both drop and rise simultaneously.

I am not sure how you lost the money. But, did you just install the fake "MyEtherWallet" app from iOS. It would be helpful to others if you share details.

Nonetheless, you can use an offline or hardware wallet as suggested by others

Re: Ripple replacing Bitcoin in 2018
by
nareshrohra
on 01/01/2018, 05:54:09 UTC
I don't think that's a possibility. Ripple is good and has a strong, resourceful team working on it, but I don't like the way coins are distributed least the amount of coins supplied. Nonetheless, I have a good chunk of XRP, I held them even when it was 1/3 of the price I bought and will continue to hold them

It was always expensive and will be expensive until it justifies its real world usage value rather than being used as an asset. But, that will be possible only when it becomes fast and inexpensive to use like it was in the early days.

Re: Fear of bitcoin

Their fear is on many aspects such as tax evasion, money laundering, unregulated price valuation etc. Governments like to monitor income / assets of its citizens and bitcoin and other crypto currencies don't give that transparency to them

Warren Buffet is known to dislike technology. I had heard that he didn't had cellphone for a long time.

In a recent interview of an investor on CNN, he said that "bitcoin or blockchain will be like an internet revolution and we are currently at its infancy". I am not saying to believe it on face value but yes, it is going to be there for more than couple of decades

Re: How to choose the right exchange?
by
nareshrohra
on 27/12/2017, 08:21:16 UTC
If you have a large amount of coins, then I had suggest to distribute it across 2-3 exchanges. In case cryptocurrency, putting coins in one exchange is like having "eggs in 1 basket". Remember, MtGox was the biggest exchange before it shut its operations unexpectedly

Re: What took you by suprise, in terms of crypto, this year?
by
nareshrohra
on 26/12/2017, 08:56:42 UTC
For me, the surprise was altcoins market cap reaching $100 billion+. Bitcoin's rise from $5,000 to $20,000 in couple of months. Altcoin market price rising to $500 billion+. ETH stagnating at $250-300 range while bitcoin was rising.

There were few other small surprises but these were big ones.
