My opinion is that altcoins are still dependent with Bitcoin. We can prove that by looking at the most recent bearish market. Bitcoin's price is also dragging down the altcoin market. Altcoins are still growing and maybe in the near future, there is a huge possibility that they will take control of the market. For now, I can conclude that Bitcoin is still on top. [I agree-bitcoin is still ahead and I hope it will always be so!]
As you can see that BTC is the largest crypto among all in the market, I just really do not understand why people like to claim that BTC is about to die, do not easily fall for these kinds of topics and think that Bitcoin is dying, put some research on it, its just another person's opinion but again it is misleading. One last thing before you reply, this is extremely important and might be a big help for you (especially for newbies) avoid agreeing with such wrong info given to you, be sure to take extra care in replying, and the most important part of all is that you should make some research and do not forget to read the thread (if necessary) it is also important as you can gain new information from other people, though just make sure that what you are reading is very much legitimate.
Thank you and feel free to respond, I wanna see your insights about this.
I agree. Bitcoin isn't going anywhere, but I think there's a huge barrier to mass adoption: price volatility. And I think that opens the perfect market for stablecoins like Havven. My dream is to buy coffee with a stablecoin and not make the mistake like the bitcoin pizza guy lol. Thoughts? [I am also sure - bitcoin will not die, he came to us to stay!]
In simple explanation Bitcoin is the currency while the technology being used is the blockchain. Bitcoins is build with blockchain as its foundation, without the blockchain bitcoin could not be called a crypto currency. Somehow the essence of bitcoin as a currency is the blockchain technology. But it is also important to understand what is this blockchain, blockchain is a record of transaction, a public ledger wherein you can monitor and trace whenever you make a transaction using bitcoin. [Very accessible explanation, I fully agree with you.]

Re: Bitcoin become centralized with Lightning Network ?
Bitcoins are always in the hands of giants, they own a lot of Bitcoins, and they control the market the way they want, they will try to limit Bitcoin's decentralisation and make it more focused. This will make it easy for them to control the trend. [I agree, "giants" really control the market.]
If you really want to invest and if you have some extra bucks that you won't be needing for a couple of years, I would suggest you buy Bitcoin. [I would also advise to buy Bitcoin.]
I always keep most of my coins in cold storage wallets like Ledger S Nano and just take out whenever I need it. Keeping a lot of money in exchanges is a big risk. As if dabbling in cryptocurrency is not risky enough. But you have to do what you have to do. [I agree, to keep a lot of money on the exchanges is a very big risk!]
Yes, I know that Bitcoin moves faster and there are some other coin that are also moving fast such as ETH this coin moves faster too like Bitcoin and other currencies that moves faster but not expanding like Bitcoin because there is no global recognition. Bitcoin is the highest coin that moves faster.
From the look of things it is very clear that bitcoin have started recovering. I hope you know that there will be no steady appreciation in price without depreciation. [I really want to hope that bitcoin will recover. ]
What do you guys think will happen to the price of bitcoin (and altcoins for that matter) during a recession? Often when stocks went down a little crypto market would surge. But how will bitcoin behave in a full on world economic recession? Because history tells us that a recession is coming, we haven't had one in ten years, it might be 2018,2019, or even 2020 but it's coming. Do you think the traditional market and the cryptocurrency market are negatively or positively correlated? (Or are they correlated at all for that matter?)
First of all Good question to ask.I think the recession will not affect much to bitcoin rather it can grow the investment in bitcoin.people during recession times looks to find different ways to earn or to save there money as all the regular business drops. There is no better way to save your money as well as earn than investing. That's what i feel. [I agree: the recession will not affect bitcoin.]

Re: Bitcoin/Crypto exchanges behaviour- what's your opinion?
We are seeing a lot of new exchanges popping up here there and everywhere. Some which are obviously more established, and some that are pretty crap or just looking really shifty.
One thing that stands out to me recently though, is the amount of 'promotions/competitions' these exchanges are running whereby you have to invest or trade the biggest amount of a specific crypto in order to win a prize.
To me this just shouts out GAMBLING. I personally think its totally irresponsible, it portrays crypto in a really negative manner to someone neutral/not into crypto yet, and above all it could be very dangerous to your finances!

You are right mate. I always thought that tradfing was like gambling in the sense that both are negative sum games (aka negative expected value), bringing one certain lost in a long run. Of course, once or twice one may be successful.
I also think that bitcoin should be used as it was initially intended, i.e. as electronic payment method; and that usecase is unfortunately dying. [It is precisely noticed:all this reminds gambling!]
I rather believe that blockchain is a phenomenal innovation because we already are using some kind of digital money with credit cards and other systems so the blockchain is the one who deserves to be a phenomenal thing I guess. [Bitcoin is a global virtual currency and I think it has a great future!]

Re: When you think of currency what will come to your mind?
I don't think they see Bitcoin as a new currency but what they might be referring in this photo is not about the evolution of money since trading is not here but the evolution of payment system that starts using the common ones, paying money then it evolved on using cards and now which we can use mobile phone applications and obviously Bitcoin.
I also think that they do not see bitcoin as a new currency, but the evolution of the payment system is clearly seen here.

Re: Will bitcoin have trouble in evolving and keeping up?
bitcoin will always have trouble evolving and improving because it has a lot of enemies who don't want to see that happening ever. that is why a lot of FUD exists on the internet calling bitcoin a lot of negative names including Fraud, Ponzi,... but in the end, all of these are only obstacles on the road that will slow down the progress that will happen because there is a very strong network shaped up in the past 9 years for bitcoin no matter what anybody tries to show otherwise. [/Bitcoin will really have a lot of problems because people, in essence, negatively perceive everything new.quote]

I agree that it is difficult to explain to other people about cryptocurrency, my friends "do" big eyes.It does not matter whether they are Muslims or Christians.
