Yeah honestly idk what happened. I turned it on at 11:30am and got an inactive worker email at 12:30pm. Restarted Rig2 when I could and it has been working ever since.

Just one less thing off my shoulders now.

Yes, I can remote in on both of my Rigs. I use teamviewer to remote into it.

1st Rig is 6 cards hashing at 170-175mh/s total on Claymore 9.8v.

2nd Rig is 3 cards hashing at 80-85mh/s total on Claymore 10.2v.

I've never had an issue with the 1st rig reporting ever since I've started. But as I said the 2nd Rig starts reporting but then stops but it's still mining. Just not reporting any hash rate and says Rig is offline after awhile.

been mining with the .bat file on Rig 1 the same and the worker name on Rig 2 is now Rig2. I saw my reported hash rate go to the correct amount for like 3-5 minutes but it is back down again.

My 1st Rig is using Claymore 9.8v and is reporting all information correctly.

Rig 2 is on Claymore 10.2v and doing ETH only right now.

wallet address is in my signature is you are wanting to see the hash rate on ethermine.

Re: Server PSU to run a vega rig (configuration troubles)

I got a HP 1200w sever PSU and 12 GPU breakout board. It came with all the cables needed.

I use the Server PSU to power all the GPUs and Risers. I use a Corsair 500w to power the motherboard, CPU and SSD.

I power up the Server GPU first then the motherboard. If you are worried about the system going down while you aren't not home, you can also set up on Wifi Smart Plugs so you can manual turn off and on while away from Rig.

i dont really have time now to go through on this log , will do later , but one thing i noticed...why are u using the older version of claymores miner (Claymore's Dual ETH + DCR/SC/LBC/PASC GPU Miner v9.8 ) ? instead of the newest version 10.2 ?

I am. I just copied the mining program from my first rig to my second rig and changed the .bat file to Rig2. I downloaded Claymore 10.2 and I just launched the .bat on it with the Rig2 saved as the worker. I will let that run to see if there is a difference. I am still running 9.8v on Rig1 though. I can update it tonight when I get home from work also.

thanks for the help. that is a partial log because it would not let me copy the entire things (over the max characters)

Multiple Rig Question
by
nathan0658@gmail.com
on 22/12/2017, 15:23:00 UTC
So I have gotten my 1st rig 100% set up for now and started on my 2nd Rig.

I have the same wallet address for both rigs but I set the first rig as Rig1 in the .bat file and copy and pasted the exact info for the new rig but changed the name to Rig 2.

I am running both Claymore mining programs and it will show both as online. But after about 30 minutes, Ethermine says my Rig 2 is offline. When I check the monitor, it is still running and collecting shares.

Any idea to what the issue may be? what detailed info would be best to provide to help resolve the issue?

In the mean time, I just set both mining programs as the same name (Rig1 after my wallet address) and it seems to be working ok but crazy reporting #'s.

Re: rx 570 sapphire nitro - max eth hash

I have 3 Sapphire Nitro+ RX 570 8GB (Samsung memory) and I am about to pull 29-29.5 dual mining DCR.

My dual mining average hash rate for ETH is 176mh/s and DCR is 3.8GH/s.

I did a Bios mod on the graphics cards after I backed up each of the memory just in case I needed to restore the original back on it.

I used Polaris One Click Bios to change the memory straps and then put that Bios back onto the card. (You need to only have 1 card plugged in at a time when re-flashing the cards so you can make sure you are changing the bios on the correct card since you said you had 12)

After you save your original Bios, make sure to move the switch on your card before uploading new Bios to card. (near the top, google it for pics)

Use the - or + while in claymore mining and you can change the dcri and find you sweet spot and also change your card clock settings using OverDrivenTool or through the Claymore config file.

good luck.

Man I need to know somethin, you're pulling 176 mh/s out of 3 RX580? That would be a whopping 58,67 mh/s per card.... Everybody on this planet succeeds in squeezing about 31 mh/s out of the RX580 hence I'd be interested to learn how you manage  to squeeze out almost twice as much?

Just not possible ^^

I apologize, I should have put that I have 176 mh/s on my 1st rig. the other 3 cards I was referring to is my second rig I am slowly adding too. I should have reread my post before submitting.

My First Rig:
4 Asus RX 570 4gb
1 XFX 570 4gb
1 XFX 580 4gb

2nd Rig:

3 Sapphire Nitro+ 570 8gb

I have RX570 Nitro + Oc OC 8Gb Samsung  and my h rate is about 27 Mh/s. Have someone some bios ti improve hrate ?

I have the exact same card and memory as you.

I did a Polaris one click flash and I am at 29Mh/s. I think my overclock settings applied to this card since I have a .bat file to run after a restart.

Trying to find someone to teach me so I can learn this process a little faster myself or get reassurance I am doing it correctly.

Re: GPU Memory Errors
by
nathan0658@gmail.com
on 08/12/2017, 19:42:16 UTC
I have a 6 GPU Rig and I have 1 card throwing out a lot of memory errors. Yesterday I think I have about 600,000,000 errors on that 1 card before I even noticed it.

My Rig does not crash, I have a very good Valid/Stale Share Ratio (Approx 1% or less sometimes). They only way I knew I was getting errors was because I have been trying to learn to overclock/undervolt more and more so I downloaded HWinfo and noticed it there.

Should I be worried about the GPU errors if my Rig is running very stable. Card is XFX 570 4GB and hashing about 28 mh/s.

I plan on trying to play with the card some tonight or tomorrow after I get some chores done but if anyone thinks of a possible solution I would be glad to give it a shot.

I am a very slow learner when I am reading and applying new things (alone) for the first time.

I am also looking for someone to do some small 1:1 lessons to possibly help accelerate the learning curve if you know someone or if you can teach it yourself, shoot me a PM. Payment will be sent for the lesson of course.

Your memory clock is likely just too high. On some cards the errors dont seem to matter as much and the effective hashrate stays up despite them. On others Ive seen massive drops in effective hashrate and eventually the rig would crash.

Personally I go for 0 memory errors. The added stability affects porifitability more than the 1-3% extra hashrate.

I agree with this and I would like to get to the 0 mark so I can have a stable Rig that I can (in theory) have it running and forget about for the most part. What was the method you used to learn on to properly set the overclock settings?

I think what's kind of messing my thinking up honestly, is that 1 have 6 cards in the rig and I am trying to just work on GPU 1 on my rig. should I unplug all the other card and focus on this card until the errors are gone or keep all the cards in the Rig and try to just work on this one card....

What is the error you see repeated the most?

it just says GPU Memory Error (in hwinfo64) and I see the number climbing pretty quickly (like 20,000-30,000 per second)

I am not getting any errors in claymore (mining ETH&DCR). When I do see the stale share message, the default message in Claymore comes up and says to check overclock settings to make sure its not set to high.

As I said earlier, I am learning this still and if I don't understand or any your question in the best way, I am sorry.

simply start to read related threads here on forum,
which coin, which software is not learning though...

couldn't agree more. I log in here just to read between clients at work or when im in my "office" asking who #2 works for.

it is kind of hard to get some detailed information on here sometimes as it can be way overhead for a newbie as far as using certain terms and stuff. but you will pick up that stuff as you go. if in doubt, just ask, more people here willing to help than bash you.

nice! I am debating making a rx 570 rig, you think its worth it to spend a bit more and go for the 580's? Hash rates are not too far off on the two. But I guess long term its better yeah?

I have 1 rig (6cards) with RX 570 4gb getting about 29.7 eth and 450 on dcr. So total 175eth & 2700ish dcr.

I am going with the 580 8gb this time as they r only a few bucks more and it'll be better for the future.
I have my rigs in a spare bedroomwith a Vortex 500CFM FAN sucking heat out of the window to help with that. Sucks in cooler air from under the door frame from the house.

Hoping the server psu isn't louder that the Vortex fan. If it is,I'll return it and get regular psu, until I move all the rigs to my shed when electric is installed there next year

Rig #2 ordered

Got all the new things to start my seconds Rig. Going with a server PSU this time and my budget is already loving it.

Order 3x RX 580 8GB Nitro. I will be scaling more cards in as I got these for about $250 each brand new after gas where Im at.

Waiting for the new motherboard to arrive and a new CPU.

I also ordered a new metal shelf to hang all the cards on from my first rig so i can have a central place for everything. The wife is happy about that at least. Now if i just had enough cash to get another 3 cards to have a complete second rig.

The plan is to scale into adding more cards until the entire shelf it filled. Once i can post pics, I definitely will.

thanks for the quick reply.

I am getting to get a server PSU with the PICO adapter so I can have it all run on 1 PSU.

This is the starting process of my building. I will keep expanding and adding 1 new rig when funds allow or when my ROI is gained back from each Rig.

My thought process is that my ROI will continue to decrease with each new rig because I will have the Rig/Rigs before it paid off as well and contributing to the overall small farm investment.

Server PSU question about 24 pin
by
nathan0658@gmail.com
on 30/11/2017, 20:07:06 UTC
So I am in the process of pricing out my 2nd rig build to get supply's and finances ready.

I am wanting to get a server PSU to power all the GPUs and risers (starting with 6 but want to be able to expand).

I currently have 2 ATX power supplies linked on my first Rig to power on and off at the same time but this set up cost approx. $180 for both PSUs and the PSU adaptor.

Can I get 1 large 1200+ watt Server PSU and power my Mobo, SSD, ect. all from it with some adapter that would connect to the breakout board?

Any advice or recommendations for merchants to purchase quality server psu's from please let me know.

New Rig build will be (so far):

6x RX580 8GB
1 Asus Prime Z270
6 Risers (powered by PCIe cables)
4gb RAM

still need: PSU with PCie cables

No can not work as any block can be an Uncle.

So if you hit a good block not an Uncle what do you want to do toss it?

makes a lot of sense when I read it like that.

thanks for the quick response.

So basically, I need to have as much hashing power to have the best chance of getting an Uncle block as well while mining.
