You should post screenshots by default.

There are a few people looking for these here - you should post in their threads.

Thanks for the hint.
In case you have links to any of them it would be really appreciated Smiley

Oh shit I believe now!!! I am all in....sign me up for a thousand orders!!!!! /sarcasm.

Saying it's legit without proof is like saying superman is real and showing nothing to prove it. Up to now this miner is as real as superman.

No, I actually saw Superman on tv/video.
So my conclusion is Superman is way more real than their miner!

Indeed, Avenger posted some epic ones (hint: there is more).

If you want to squeeze more performance out of your RPi:

1) SSH to titan as root
2) edit file '/boot/config.txt'
3) add
Code:
arm_freq=900
core_freq=450
sdram_freq=450
force_turbo=1
4) reboot
5) if you like, verify clock speed 'cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_cur_freq'

*note:
max values were not stable, so I reduced them by 10%
arm_freq=1000
core_freq=500
sdram_freq=500

Hi,
Can somebody explain how do I can ssh to the raspberry pi of my Titan? ID: pi PW: raspberry doesn't work.

I can also report the same problem as pretty much everybody else. The last cube, only 1/2 the ASICs work. I am running firmware 1.0.4.

Also curious as to know which pools are actually working for people as none of the KNC suggested ones work for me.
Thanks.

Use the same password you have set via the web-gui.
Works for both root and pi, but for accessing the screen use pi.

You can fetch details for each die's proc this way:
Code:
/home/pi/bfgminer/bfgminer-rpc procs > proc_details.txt

Maybe you can get it running by playing a little with the voltages (advanced page in web GUI)

Regarding pools, just try some.

I highly recommend ditching the class 4 micro SD and purchasing a class 10 4GB to get more stability.

Does a 8GB micro SD work as well ?  (That's the smallest I can get at my local store).

And is it just a matter of stopping the Titan, exchanging the SD card, and restarting it again? Or is there more to it?

Wasted space doesn't harm.
What is important is the class of the SD card (read/write speed).
Look for Class 10.

Switching to another SDcard is the same procedure like your SDcard corrupted.

Titan SD flash guide.

1. Turn off the miner and remove the Micro SD card from the Raspberry Pi.
2. Download the V1.02 Titan .img file: https://github.com/KnCMiner/titan/releases

3.
Follow this link if you are using Windows for instructions on how to write the image to the SD Card http://www.raspberrypi.org/documenta...ges/windows.md

Follow this link if you are using MAC for instructions on how to write the image to the SD card: http://www.raspberrypi.org/documenta...-images/mac.md

Follow this link if you are using Linux for instructions on how to write the image to the SD card: http://www.raspberrypi.org/documenta...mages/linux.md

4. Insert the newly imaged SD card back into your Raspberry Pi and turn on the miner.

Prepare your new sdcard, shut down your miner, replace sdcard and restart.

<--- 2Boards on RMA

Sounds like KNC are shoveling this crap out the door without testing, and that their 'round the clock' efforts to fix problems in new firmware releases is a ruse to buy time. Asic problems ?

Seems to be the case from my point of view, too.
Btw, might there be a correlation between the fact that so many customers report dead dies and the fact that KnCMiner stated that there was a bad chip yield...?  Roll Eyes

Titan owners - I have a small request for you. I hear that Titans are having issues with some firmwares, therefore I would just like to ask some of you if you could point one of your Titans to our stratum (stratum.nicehash.com or stratum.westhash.com - https://www.nicehash.com/?p=gstarted#seller) for like 10 or 15 minutes and see if your Titan can actually reach full speed (as reported on Titan and as reported on our website)? We are using some stratum extensions I would like to see if KnC integrated them into their firmware ... thanks!

FYI: since the new firmware uses BFGMiner 4.8.0 you can try setting extranonce.subscribe extension/feature to get better efficiency on NiceHash/WestHash (put "#xnsub" at the end of the pool URI to enable extranonce extension: "stratum+tcp://stratum.nicehash.com/#xnsub") ... nevertheless it might be a hard time for Titans to handle the work provide by our stratums since most of the time work is provided by orders for altcoins mining ... but it might be worth giving a try ... (also try  "--queue 0 --scan-time 1 --expiry 1" options).

Thx, I'll try that.
Any recommendation for 'Longpoll' and 'Retries' ?

When I have a look into the code base I cannot find any changes that could have an impact on bad dies or anything related to hashing.
There's only shutting down DCs on system reboot/shutdown and minor improvements for the web-interface (uses a cache now).

I have expected more when reading their engineers work day & night to improve the firmware even further.

fully functional Titan ?
No, not for me at least. I had bad luck in this game-of-dice. (?)

Most of the cubes show weird behavior.
Some Dies kick in from time to time, with the right voltage for them but then causes errors and bfgminer crashes.
Additionally there are frequent restarts (5min interval) due to some dies are off.
And the restarts decrease your avg hashrate even further, because bfgminer needs more than 1min to get up to speed.

There's a quick fix to get the advanced page working.
Issue is that querying the hardware takes often longer than the timeout is.

SSH into your miner (user pi or root) and edit file
Code:
/var/www/pages/advanced_settings.html
in line 172 you can find the timeout for the fetch-values cmd
further in line 331, 339 and 347 is the timer controlling after what timespan the next query will be issued.

Do not reload. If two queries are issued to fast, there will be a timeout.
If you want to reload the advanced page (for ex. to load new modifications of advanced.html), switch to another tab like 'mining' wait as long as your timer is set in file advanced_settings.html before switching back.

Fine tuning works without web-interface as well, just edit file
Code:
/config/advanced.conf
and restart

If you want to know which dies cause trouble, watch file
Code:
tail -f /var/log/monitordcdc.log

connect to the screen session running bfgminer (user pi required)
Code:
screen -r

Most cubes run stable below 300MHz. To get above this value you need to compile stuff on your own, but save your time: lot of errors causing many restarts, more energy consumption, and it's hashing slower.

LCD display text can be modified, too, if you like
Code:
/etc/knc-release

Yo Maidak, I see that my order has been shipped now....

Nevertheless I'm sticking to my claim of partial refund or compensation in form of additional free hardware or else, as my order is being shipped at a point in time that late where the value has decreased to 50% of the price I paid. You BFL'ed me.

You told me it was all atari02's fault and that you leave him a negative feedback in return I still can't see, so I currently doubt everything you told me.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=191489

At the moment I have to assume that you pulled off a classic BFL scam as you might understand.
I have to suspect that you were whether mining with my hardware or you waited to purchase it for a fraction to pull off more profit.

If I'm wrong, and it was actually atari02's failure, try to find a solution with him please, as he is interested in resolving things, see here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=503928.msg6254776#msg6254776

Notice please, all I'm asking is a fair solution for an agreement we had that you broke, nothing more nothing less.

With the payment I've done my part of the agreement. Your part of the agreement was to ship the miners in March, not in the second half or April or so that they will arrive end of April due to easter holidays.
Since you failed to ship in time and I'm experiencing due to your failure serious financial damage, It's obvious that I'm asking you to compensate me.

I'm looking forward to your proposal.
The current situation is not acceptable in any way.

Thanks.

Standard of service is relative to your expectation, and your expectation should be based on the market which you are dealing with.

The procurement, sale, and distribution of OEM products is very price driven and competitive.  Margins are minimal, hence overheads kept as low as possible.  low overheads results in lower manpower, lower manpower results in overburden.

We should all allow Atari02, and all other distributors of ASIC's a bit of leniency.  They are providing a service to this community.  A service which we as individuals are unable to do. And all the while remain competitive and get us as consumers the best price possible.

 Roll Eyes
Yes, sure, incredible service..

Expectation is very simple I'd say:
 as agreed when paid the money

I'm one of the victims miaviator is referring to.
Let me add that miaviator faces all the negative impact, while Atari02 enjoys some profit out of it.

I paid on 09/03/2014 $4k for 20 Gridseeds, so $200 per device and still waiting!
Meanwhile Atari02 offers them in here for $102. WTF ?!!

I'd call this BFL'ing if not even a scam, but for sure not providing a service to this community.  A service which we as individuals are unable to do.

Do you get paid for posting such crap ?!
If not I we should get in business immediately as I can provide you the kind of service you're seeking for...unbeatable cheap..

@Atari02:
I'm still in hope things were just messed up somehow and you're a honest man standing by your word/agreement.
I'm impatiently looking forward to a fair solution (refund/compensation/?) you will provide to us, the ones suffering financial damage.

Thanks.
