Due to unexchanged coins being held for better profit, you can't just mine for 24hrs @ hashcows and claim the payout figure - you have to mine for a few days to get a proper figure.
http://poolpicker.eu/text.php
As you can see, Hashcows is #2 in terms of profitability atm, only slightly shy of CoinFu.
If you have the time & energy to mine altcoins and sell them yourself, you can make better profit - but not everyone has the time or the expertise to do so, multipools are much easier to set & forget.
If I was to manually mine & sell altcoins I'd probably make less than straight LTC mining - I'd probably also lose my day time job Smiley
I'm getting ~60,000-70,000 Mintcoins per day with 2.2mh/s.

We are approaching 1 week since payouts in MINT were implemented on [Suspicious link removed]  While I appreciate the new miners who have given us a shot and 'mined' some mint, the uptake isn't quite what I'd hoped for.  In an effort to try and get things going, I received a total of 1,850,000 mint in bounties for implementation.  If we can reach 300Mh/s in new hashrate that gets paid out in mint, and maintain it for at least 5 days, I'll give away all of it to random miners in the form of 3 prizes; 1mil, 600k, 250k.  (personal hashrate will play no bearing on the prize winners, 10Mh/s or 300Kh/s, you'll have the same chance of winning).

I'll post updates here on hashrate status if warranted.

Happy Mining.
My rig keeps getting rented but once the current rental is over I'll be back on Hashcows - fantastic prize Nearmiss.

It'll be very insteresting when mining becomes unaffordable for most users. I sure aint going to risk sending thousands of dollars to an unknown company in the hopes of getting decent mining gear on time.
PoS (Mintcoin) may be the way of the future?
PoT seems a bit too random and unstable.

Doug, you have to give it a few days at Hashcows, the coins aren't exchanged too quickly so it takes a little while to build up your payouts - especially the first day.
My 2nd day I got 46,000+ mintcoin with 2.2mh/s and that was with 4-6 hours of losing mining time due to betarigs.

Hashcows has the highest income averaged over 27 days.
But if you have the time and the expertise, you can make more money mining and exchanging altcoins yourself, no doubt about that.
It's just great having an automated system that pays better than straight LTC mining and which also helps with our value (I hope).

Loving the flow of Mints with Hashcows atm Smiley
Great job everyone in getting such a high profile multipool involved in Mintcoin!
And thanks to Nearmiss for taking us onboard, keep up the great work - I see MOO's are back Smiley

I also vote to keeping Project F for Mintcoin development only.
I have nothing against other altcoins but the proposed change in the Foundation sounds like it's to benefit other coins at the cost of Mint's pre-mine, which we are constantly being put in bad light for having. This is sure to bring on doubts from the Mintcoin community as to what ulterior motives are behind such change of mind.
Other altcoin communities need to come up with their own initiatives, much like we did despite all the trolls and collapsing of the coin value. We held on during the hard times and thanks to such a great community we are starting to see some positive returns.

How does being hit by multipools make coin distribution unfair? Wouldn't it make it more widely distributed and less concentrated to the early adopters/miners?
My understanding is that the coins mined by multipools would have been sold on exchanges for a pretty good price, to those willing to pay?
And I was under the impression that all/any profitable coins are hit by multipools?

I sense that scrypt mining as it stands now is not going to be too profitable in the near future, with all the asic hype and cost of energy always rising.
If the price of LTC/altcoins don't rise with the difficulty, there will have to be big changes to the market, maybe devs will change their coins to n-scrypt or whatever else to minimize asic mining driving up difficulty like crazy.
This is where I see Mint coming to age. I see a bright future for Mint, if we can be patient and do our part to spread the word.

This site compares the popular multipools by profit per day (thanks to Webbson).
Hashcow is as good as any other, overall.
