I prefer (2). If the method is too complicated, I propose a simplified version - option (3)
  • Use AES Crypt instead of Truecrypt. It is much easier to use.
  • If you're not comfortable using deathswitch.com, we could just encrypt the text file containing passphrase and ask someone we trust to keep it and to email it to the recipients - much the same way we'd need someone to physically take the envelope out of the safe deposit box & post it.
  • Once the text file containing the passphrase has been encrypted, we immediately send decryption key to all other treasurers by ordinary email (no need to use bitmessage). This way we can confirm that the backup process has been completed.
What do you guys think? Once we've agreed on the method, we can post it in the main thread.

I would go with option no. 3.

Regarding Ittay Eyal - see no. 5 here
I would definetaly consider Meni Rosenfeld, but I don't think he'll take it. He's very busy. I tried to get his opinion on nxt on the israeli facebook page, but he said he'll learn more about it once someone he appreciate will say something positive about it.

Question for BCnext:

What are the most inportant 5 things the community should do, in order to properly support nxt in the next 6 months?

This reminds me a trick when u ask for 3 wishes if someone lets u to ask one wish.

It's a legal trick  Wink

@ Aldrin,
We will start a contest where the 10 best ideas for a client feature or application which would help Nxt grow over the next 5 years.
Total Development Fund Needed: Nxt 2,000,000
I can immediately start the thread where idea's can be deposited....Final voting can begin in a weeks time.
What do you guys think?

I agree with Aldrin that we need to let it grow naturally and see proven results before we spend funds.
Having a contest for 10 best ideas is good, but who will guarantee the implemetation. I would love to doante when I know someone like nexern/jean luc/cfb for example is standing behind it. This apply to software development, marketing and all other areas.
I don't have the time to do it myself, but I'll be happy to continue donating.

To be on the safe side, I wouldn't advise enxern to quit his day job - but if he can take a non paid vacation, I guess it will be very easy to raise the funds to pay him generously...

What a diffrence F5 makes.
When I previously installed the client it took about 20 min of idle computer to download the blockchain.
Now by refreshing the browser every few seconds - it took my comp. about 20 seconds to get to the current block.
Why is that? and why is it not on every nxt installation guide?
or I just misinterpreted the whole thing...

Doesn't F5 lock your wallet?

I'm talking about doing that only when you (re)download the blockchain...

Hi to all,
I have only few minutes, so I'll make it short.
I'm your average large stakeholder who cannot keep up with the client installations and updateds.
I don't have the time and the tech. knowledge to do that.
I'm not online most of the time for the time being, and this is the reason I said when Nxt started that I'm willing to donate a substantial amount of Nxt to share the burden.
So I'll say it again:
I'm willing to donate more than 3M nxt.
Lets open a fund that will be managed by respectable members that will be able to gurantee that the funds will be spent properly.
For every 2 Nxt that other stakeholders will donate - I'll donate 1 Nxt (3.4M max - already donated 0.4M to bybitcoin and 0.2M privately).
We need a Gavin - someone wants to step forward?
