If you're going to go into lifetime partnership with a spouse, then it's ideal to share lifestyle habits with them such that if these are habits that you'd need help and support breaking out of, then they can help. Otherwise you'd just be shooting yourself in the foot by hiding details like that. Even though the habit haven't become a net-negative affair, it's still a wise call to let them know because marriages should be about full transparency.

Re: Could Bitcoin Survive if Governments Tried a Global Ban?
by

Haven't these happened already? A couple of years ago, China and other countries banned bitcoin but people no longer remember those moments because of how quickly everyone who had doubts saw how bitcoin strived in those situations. The only reason why most countries are beginning to adopt bitcoin in exponential rates is because every attempt to try and stop bitcoin only led to more growth so they just joined the bandwagon instead.

TLDR: What happens if all countries banned Bitcoin? The network operates as usual. The chain moves forward through transactions.

Re: If Winning and Losing Leads to Gambling Addiction, Is There Really no Way Out?
by

Gambling only because a problem of addiction if one allows it to be. It's almost the same with how other forms of addiction work so that's why I agree that even constant winnings can contribute indirectly to the addiction. One mentality that fuels gambling a lot is the fact that in gambling, you can only lose 100% of your money but you can win as much as 1000x worth of profit.

If you do it long enough to convince your brain that it's a need must situation, then it becomes an addiction.

Re: A Turning Point in DeFi with wold Liberty Financial project

I have read most aspect of the project and I don't think they're doing anything new or novel that doesn't already exist under the current defi scope. Even their lending and borrowing product will be provided by Aave and stablecoins have been a thing for close to a decade so what gives? I believe World liberty finance is only all the range because Trump family are directly involved in the project as co-founders and thus, have vested interest to see it succeed.

That's why I'm not surprised about the hype that has surrounded the project in the last couple of months.

If I'm going to rate, I'd say this "top altcoins list" is 1/10.

OP did an awesome job mentioning the worst shit money can buy. All the altcoins you mentioned offer zero value to their holders since they're just memecoins at the end of the day. The list is just based on quantity and zero efforts to put in some quality.

What happen to HYPE or other solid tokens will actual value accrual to holders? I'm not hating but if I'm a new user and I'm in this section and come across this thread, do you see how - EV this thread would be considering the listed tokens?

I couldn't understand PSV's home defeat. How could they lose 0-2 at home to Telstar? If you're aiming to win the championship, you shouldn't drop points in such matches. Your opponent isn't formidable, and you'll be facing tougher opponents like Ajax and AZ. For PSV, dropping three points unplanned is a huge opportunity for their opponents.

Ajax have dropped points twice in their first 4 games of the season. Only Feyenoord have had a clean slate so far with 3 wins in 3 games. I didn't expect that PSV loss yesterday because that's the kimd of games that you'd see them lead 3-0 to 4-0 from the first half but it wasn't the case yesterday. This kimd of situation happens to all teams. Games will start slow and you'd concede. Then they wave it off but as the clock edges towards 90" minutes mark, it becomes a difficult jobto do.

I'd like to see a different champion in the eredivisie this season. Maybe it's time Feyenoord win it again.

Re: Will banks One day accept Bitcoin deposit?

Of course, it will be much easier for some people if (when) banks enter this game in such a way that there will be a BTC logo at the entrance of the bank, but such people have never and will never understand that they are doing the wrong thing. Bitcoin was created as an alternative to banks, not to become dependent on them.

Even if Bitcoin gets adopted in banks and is later integrated into some if not all of banking infrastructures, I would not think that it is dependent on banks because at the end of the day, the bitcoin network runs independently off of banks. But yes, I understand and know that Bitcoin and Banks were not meant to work together from the onset.

Re: Tokenized Stocks: A Step Toward Breaking Barriers?
by

on 30/08/2025, 22:57:12 UTC
I see stocks being listed on MEXC futures and the leverage usually ranges from 5x and the max I've seen so far is 10x leverage on 1-2 stocks. However, I don't like their approach because the market there follows the official stock market schedule so it means markets are unavailable on weekend. Even if you just want to place a pending order that could get triggered when the market finally opens up, you can't and I find that very frustrating

If Blockchain and crypto is suppose to remove restrictions, then that's not the best implementation for tokenized stocks with leverage.

Why would you want to send your Bitcoin to a bank when Bitcoin was literally created to work without banks and third parties?  Roll Eyes
Even if they start accepting Bitcoin they would not allow you to withdraw whenever you want, they would charge additional fees, they would force you to use their ''approved'' wallet, and other crap like that.

People want a way to use their bitcoin across any product or services in their country and banks have already built infrastructures that can streamline those processes. Say, I want to pay for a product or services in my country and the vendor doesn't accept Bitcoin directly, I can send Bitcoin to a bitcoin wallet the bank designated and use it to pay at will.

It's the convenience people often want along with financial freedom. It's not a service I'm looking forward though.

What do you think about this token potential on a long term?

Nothing interesting, really. You just mentioned features that are available in hundreds if not thousands of proof of stake networks. Given the fact that this is suppose to be a new project makes it even more disappointing. Why would I want to try out a new proof of stake network when I can enjoy the best decentralization proof of stake networks can offer from Solana or even Ethereum?

It’s so hard to win and that’s why you rarely ever see a team defend the title. Real Madrid are the only team to do that this century.

The usual suspects will be there but too early to single out definite favourites now.

Well, that's why Real Madrid are the best team in the UCL in this century. I don't have any favorites to win it but in the last decade, I think only top teams in the top 5 leagues have won the title so I highly doubt we will have a big upset or an underdog going far enough to win it.

If this is the season arsenal wins the UCL title, I'll be very surprised lol.

I think that man unitd has not come with a solid team this season, though the season is still very early, there should be team improvement as the seasons progresses. I think club manager has to beef up the midfield and bring in a winning mentality to the team. If i see some improvement on the next match, i am going to book man united on my next betting.

It looks like he has an issue with the entire team. Even if a coach tactics is shit, 11 well paid players of one of the biggest club can certainly win comfortably against a team in the England 4th division but they didn't so it's not a manager's fault and he's bound to get mad. Until Manchester United resolves their internal issues and begin to play like a team again, I won't include them on my bet slips. The risks is too much for mid-low odds rewards.

Strange round in Eredivisie before international break.

~Snip

It was a strange round indeed. While I was putting together a bet slip earlier today, Eredivisie was one of the leagues I checked. I saw the Ajax and PSV games and even though both teams have been good since the new season started, I didn't like the odds.

Imagine:
  • Ajax to win away 1.28
  • PSV to win at home 1.10

And winning is never guaranteed. That's why I opted out to pick a different game. Even when PSV was down by 1 goal, I was tempted to try it out on a sportbook that allows for live betting. Good thing I skipped that as well.

Telstar had over 23 odds to win PSV! That's insane.

I don't know if this has been said before but I could do with some live bet selections in the sports section. Earlier today, I was trying to piece together a bet slip and unfortunately, one of the games (Chelsea vs Fulham) started before I could hit submit. The replacement bet I had to pick ended up being a bummer.
~Snip

My first deposit was terrible result. Only played blackjack with multiple hands and I never won a single round IIRC. Out of 10 rounds not even one win, dealer even pulled blackjack twice.

This is why I don't like casino games. I prefer sports bet since it's not entire based on luck and there are many options to pick from too.

I mostly use 2 of the top CEXs + HyperLiquid and maybe defidotapp because it's the newest addition. I do agree about the notion that putting all eggs in one basket is inherently wrong. There have been periods of wild volatility and market swings where Binance and Bybit went down at the same time because of an AWS ussue iirc.

The only problem is that if you've an active position in whatever exchange that goes down, you're fucked anyway unless you open a delta neutral trade on secondary exchange of choice mitigate the losses of not being able to manage trades on the down exchange.

Re: Bitcoin, Gold, and Real Estate: Choosing the right source of wealth in Nigeria.
by
nelson4lov
on 29/08/2025, 22:49:38 UTC
Compared to gold and real estate, Bitcoin largely outperformed both in the last decade. I saw a report recently about real estate not being the best move because if you secure a property and rent it out, it takes around a decade on average to breakeven and it doesn't even account for maintenance.

For gold, the wealth in it is already too large and it can't move much again and the annual inflation is currently around 2% or higher compared to Bitcoin which is < 1% and that number keeps decreasing with each passing halving year.

Imo, it's quite simple => Buy Bitcoin and when you're up nicely, you can realized some gains and get yourself some nice real estate so you never have to be a tenant again in life.

Re: UEFA Champions League 2025/26 Season
by

Yes, there may be some flaws in the system, which is why some teams have very strong opponents that are very difficult to survive. I am talking about PSG, Real Madrid and Arsenal of course. Even Chelsea and Newcastle are not happy about it. Because they have opponents, most of whom are very strong. They must survive in the Champions League through tough tests. Maybe we will see some teams exit before the round of 16 that are beyond our expectations.

No system can ever be free from flaws. Last season when I was doing some research and learning about the new UCL+UEL league phase format, there was a point they made about bringing tougher fixtures early in the tournament. Even last season, there were a lot of tough match ups in the league phase.

Based on what I've seen some far, each team has like 2-3 tier-1 teams to face and the other 4-5 are teams outside their leagues that they can easily defeat. Any serious team can hustle draws with those top teams and win vs smaller teams in matchups.

A couple of seasons ago, Man Utd were consider the top team in a UCL group (old format) but they ended up being the team to be eliminated first from that group. Sometimes the groupings doesn't matter that much. What about Liverpool matchups last season?

Re: Is Bitcoin Gambling a big opportunity or a big trap?

The big question for me now is, do we consider bitcoin gambling sites a big opportunity for the people or a big trap that will leave many young people addicted and financially broke?

What do you mean? Crypto casinos have been a thing for over a decade. Back in the day, there was a bitcoin sportbook that was totally anonymous and you would just play your bet and if it wins, the winnings are sent to address you specify and you get nothing if it losses.Well, that's beside the point.

If you think bitcoin gambling is designed to leave gamblers broke then you can also say the same about ALL gambling in general. At the end of the day, it all boils down to the fundamental factor in all gambling amd and that is taking risks.

Ngl, I'm happy for everyone that made off of this. This project started off as Monaco card back in the day right here on the forum and it's still one of the very few projects that have been building for years now so they deserve every they have got coming for the in the recent moves. I saw news of the treasury company from CRO tokens and I was late to it but I'll be on the lookout for decent dips to get my hands on it.

Bankroll management can't replace strategy even though it is a very important tool in every gambler's toolbox. The reality is that if you have an excellent bankroll management but with a terrible strategy with little to no win rate, then the bankroll being "managed" will eventually diminish untill all of it is lost.

I think of it like this:

Good bankroll management + good strategy = more Ws than Ls.
Bad bankroll management + good strat = 50/50 because one loss can wipe out multiple wins.

Good bankroll management +bad strategy + more Ls than Ws simply because it doesn't matter what you're managing because losses will keep piling up.
