para mim, o maior problema da xmr é a grande quantidade de trolls que se dizem parte da comunidade monero estão por todo canto agindo maliciosamente, pretendendo-se superiores, causando baderna, insultando e, o pior, afugentando novos investidores: ou seja prejudicando toda a comunidade de criptomoedas. todo o mxr que ja tive vendi por conta dessa situação ridícula, e não me animo voltar a comprar xmr novamente. a não ser que essa realidade mude.
sei que não é culpa dos outros participantes da comunidade, mas é como diz o ditado: por causa de um todos pagam :/
seria bom se as diferentes comunidades, dos diferentes projetos de criptomoedas se unissem, ao invés de brigarem uns contra os outros. isso somente nos enfraquece.

Check if it is an antivirus blocking problem: at least that's what was happening to me.

NEM wasn't booting for me either (only the spinning mouse cursor spinned for a bit and then nothing, as nzminer said), but I guess it was the antivirus (avast) blocking it: as, testing, I have disabled avast for 10 minutes, and NEM loaded normally.

Now I have added an exception on the avast config, excluding NEM folder from the antivirus protection, and it's working perfectly.

Good that I didn't have to redownload everything again.

Mozilla (Firefox) is still blocking http://nem.io for me. According to their instructions (https://support.mozilla.org/fr/kb/comment-fonctionne-protection-contre-hame%C3%A7onnage-et-logiciels-malveillants) a review should be asked at https://www.stopbadware.org/request-review (I've already made a request from here, anyway).
