Why are 99% of the new coins Scrypt, fuck sake try a new and better algo already. Scrypt takes tons of electricity and it's not 2014 anymore.

Which cryptocurrencies are planning or already implementing SegWit?
I would like to build a list of them.
Until now, I know:
- Bitcoin (adoption unsure, still low miner support)
- Litecoin (signalling just started yesterday, too early to draw conclusion)
- Viacoin (planned, but still no signalling)
Are there more? I'll update the OP if I find more (even the smallest ones), feel free to suggest some. (If there is already a thread about this, point me to it).

It's interesting to see all the complainers, accusers and trolls who come out of the woodwork when they smell blood in the water. You know, you could do something constructive instead of destructive don't you? Perhaps you are not aware that you could put on you big boy pants and help the project. Marketing comes to mind but, the easiest way right now is to buy a little bit every day and support the developers. That's the grownup thing to do. And, I'm sure most of you are intelligent, why not suggest some other courses of action that could help instead of hurt?

I truly think this project has merit. The temptation to "dump and run" is strong but, there's something about Vericoin and Verium that makes me think it will rise again. I've dumped a lot of other coins over the past five years that looked good going in but turned out to be duds however, not this one, not yet. There is still life here.

There will many releases upcoming. New updated website with Verium, lots of updates with wallet. Decentralized mining with Verium a first, P2P swap in wallet with Vericoin/Verium which will be untraceable on the blockchain (totally private transactions, finally). Merged wallet with Vericoin and Verium, seperate wallets for mining and staking. Upcoming marketing which will bring more awareness to Vericoin and Verium.
Third party mobile app which is being trademarked for iOS and Android using ICO funds. Social media app which will use Vericoin under the hood of the app. Multiple developers will be working on this. I'm excited about this as there still no main stream use for crypto. If we have something that is simple and fun to use we could have mainstream appeal. We are in the social media age, kids can't put down their phones.
2017 is going to be interesting and exciting for Vericoin and Verium.
As a newcomer to VeriCoin I'm actually really impressed with the wallet itself, being able to see stats and the market charts inside the wallet is awesome, haven't seen any other coin do that. I'm happy to have bought in and hope it continues to grow.

Great question and everyone will have a different one. First off, have the majority of your investment in Bitcoin because that's the only reason Altcoins are alive today and Bitcoin even though risky, is a lot less risky then alts, but alts have potential besides the fact most are pump and dump.
For me, after going through many alts over the past year, I would say WAVES, Stratis, Lisk, NEM, VeriCoin, Boolberry, Decred, NXT which includes Ardor as an asset, all these coins have something to offer, granted some will fail, some could be where Ethereum was and continue to grow, but the biggest thing is what the coin can offer, that means from the wallet to the community, to the features of the project, read the whitepaper, do research, read the forums, study up on the coins before you put any money into it, and do realize Alt coins are like penny stocks, as fast as they rise, they fall.
