Hi all.
This is the update,
Unfortunately Bitmain is really hard to deal with. They take our calls and sometimes promise things on the phone, but since the first contract I received a couple weeks ago they didn't send me anything new in writing, and I told them I can't move forward with such a large order without a written contract.
We're are still doing our best to make it happen, but I don't have any good news for you all yet.
If you have a way to buy somewhere else sooner, please don't hesitate to do so.
In my last conversation they told us "maybe it's better to have the order in April", which is frustrating.
They mentioned and option of getting T9 miners in February and tried to push the A3 as well, but didn't give me a clear written "yes" for the S9.

I will let you know if anything changes. Please don't pay anyone who claims to be me and says this is happening. I wil only post from this user (watch out for variations in the user name or new users) and I will also send an email from nimo@nemopowertools.com if we move forward.

Regards.

I'm sitting here watching the numbers go up from 10 ETH to 200 ETH within an hour. It's nuts.

It's a spin-of on cryptokitties. They created individual tokens for specific celebrities and plan to ask the celebrities to endorse the token.

just received an email from 'Mitchel' requesting escrow payment referencing 'nemopowertools' S9 group buy.

Quote
S9 Unit price (inc. shipping and fees) = 0.1818BTC
Optional PSU per unit = 0.007BTC
I will cover the Escrow fees due.

later in the email it says:
Quote
Escrow fee = 0.5% (Payable by nemopowertools)
PLEASE NOTE THERE IS A LIMITED QUANITY OF HARDWARE AVAILABLE SO ORDERS ARE ON A FIRST COME FIRST SERVED BASIS

I'm trying to buy Qty 2 of the S9's.  I got the impression that us small quantity buyers were at the bottom of the list (least likely to get product).
I thought NemoPowerTools was going to fill largest orders first - not first come first served?

If NemoPowerTools wants us to deal through 'Mitchel' I presume he'd mention it here?

NO
Do not pay anything to anyone who contacts you through the forum saying he represents me.
This is a scam and it's the 2nd time someone is trying to do it.
We still don't have a final confirmation from bitmain. We're talking with them everyday and trying to get the written final confirmation.

I will communicate with the people signed up for the group buy via my email address (Nimo@nemopowertools.com) or a phone call or publicly in this thread. I will never use private messages on the board.

To answer the latest comments.
1- I originally asked for 500 and than tried to bump it up to 700. Few days ago the contact in Bitmain said they'll let me know exactly how many units they can let me buy "next week" so I'm hoping for some good news in the next couple of days. Will call them again tomorrow.

2- They say the minimum order for dealers is 200. However, a few forum members contacted me and asked for an intro directly in order to buy 200. I forwarded their email and was told they don't need me to send them any more dealers since the march batch is oversubscribed.

3- The reason for going with large orders first is both logistics and trying to assure this buy actually goes through smoothly. My main objective here is not to make a buck. My highest priority is to make this happen in order to develop long term distribution relationship with bitmain and also be able to buy my own 100 units. We're developing under water data centers in NemoPowerTools and we want to be able to buy large quantities of miners in the future.
I don't want to wait around and jeopardize the entire order because a long list of people who ordered 1 or 2 miners don't pay on time and make us wait until all the funds are collected. I'm assuming that working with a smaller number of parties will make reduce this risk.
However, we still don't know how many miners we'll be able to order, how many people who signed up are actually serious and can act quickly once the purchase contract and payment option is sent to them and so on. So just because you signed up for 1, doesn't necessarily mean we won't be able to accommodate you.

4- We spent countless hours this week talking to and meeting with escrow companies and lawyer offices. We still don't have a good solution for that. Again, if anybody knows an escrow company that is willing to collect the payments and send it to bitmain, please introduce me to them. Otherwise the entity that will collect the payments will be Nemo Power Tools Limited (www.NemoPowerTools.com).

Hey how about your company invoices my machine shop for my 5 and I’ll just pay the invoice. That way I can write this off as a tool purchase. Lol

Of-course there will be an invoice (and a purchase contract). That's the plan even if we find an escrow.
The company is legally required to issue invoices.

So as you are invoicing the group buy members "aka customers" aren't you liable for tax on that?

Yes, but I'm getting an invoice from bitmain for pretty much the same amount, which offsets it. x dollars in, x dollars out profit is 0, hence no tax.

Unless you asked for 50, then you can go home.

Not necessarily. We still don't know how many will drop from the list and how many Bitmain will actually give us. I assume that some of the larger orders will not go through since when we get the details and send all the information and payment details, they may not be able to or not want to act fast enough, and we won't wait too long since i don't want to lose the entire deal.

Is there a handy URL for the list available?  I signed up using Google forms, but I'm not sure how to check the full list.  A.Delaney PM'ed me, but I'm over my "Newbie" (no pay) limit for the day.
The list is not public since it includes personal email / phone / addresses.

Here is a version with these columns removed:

Updated at Jan 12 17:30 PST
People signed up for 1169 miners so far and we're still waiting for a confirmation on whether we can get 500 or 700.

We will start from the larger orders and work our way down the list, so it's likely that if you ordered 1, we won't be able to supply it.
Hoping to hear some good news from bitmain next week.

Whoever has a good escrow solution to offer me. Please call ASAP 4153475970

In case it wasn't clear from my previous messages. My factory is in Shenzhen (China). The units will not be sent to China. The units are sent to a wearhouse operated by the shipping company in HK, however my team and/or I will be there to split the batch and send to everyone directly. If you're in HK, you can come pick up your order directly from there (I provided the address of the wearhouse before).
From HK splitting the batch should take 1 day and shipping time is 4~6 days depending on your location.

We don't have enough units for everyone even if 50% of the people who signed up end up not ordering.
We will supply larger orders first and work our way down according to order size.

Escrow or no escrow, the units will have to be shipped to the wearhouse via my company, and you'll have to trust that I won't destroy my reputation, my business and risk law suits and physical harm to me and my family for a few computers.

Maybe I missed it, but is there a cutoff date for to sign up for this? I already signed up. Im just curious because Bitmain is only going to be able to handle so many units for this order plus units they normally sell to other customers. Should this be capped? If were already over 1000 units and Bitmain is still trying to approve 700 units. Is it first come first serve for filling the orders?

List currently is at 1062 and we're still waiting for the approval of 500 or 700 units.
But yeah, a lot of people will probably drop when we get the final confirmation (hopefully next week) send the contract and ask to make the payments within a short period of time.

So list is still open but that doesn't guarantee that we'll have enough miners to cover everyone.

I get the paranoia too and trying to do what I can to let you know who I am, where I live, where my business is and so on.
If you have other ideas as to what will make people feel more comfortable, let me know.
So far I'm meeting people in my apartment/office in SF, giving you my name, address of my factory in China and you can find lots of information about me including videos and probably articles when searching for my name.

You can also find all my personal information which is registered publicly as a director of Nemo power tools (you can search the HK registery for free).
Short of providing my birth certificate, I'm not sure what else I can do to to convince you I am who I say I am.

In any case, all of this doesn't guarantee anything, but it does mean you can sue my company or me personally in case you pay for the group order and don't get the units or your money back.

We conduct business with hundreds of companies and individuals in Nemopowertools and have dealers in over 30 countries. If you feel unsafe, do some research, look over the dealer list on our site, contact our customers, read reviews, come meet me in SF or call me on Skype.

It's getting a bit frustrating to have to address this issue over and over again. I'm far from anonymous at this point.

Could Nimo do a Web-ex or Skype conference?  Like a business presentation with video and Q&A.  Just thinking out loud...
Yes, we can do that once bitmain confirms the order.
People who met me, if you're around please confirm that I'm a real person (:

can you please update us on escrow and shipping? at this point we will have to be highly trusting in you as they are going to from bitmain to your warehouse and then shipped to all of us or possible even stopping again before coming to us
This.

Again, why wouldn't you have the 700 pieces delivered to DHL HK directly?

I guess deal with Bitmain is that they ship to one address. This address has to be OP warehouse address.
Otherwise we would just buy it from Bitmain outselves.

Yes, they require a single payment and a single address to ship to. Shipping to HK is the easiest option. Shipping to my factory address in china would actually be more expensive since we would have to pay VAT.
In the HK warehouse we will split it according to the list and ship right away directly to every person who ordered. We will not be doing multiple bulk shipments to the east coast / west coast and split again there since we found out it will not save any money on shipping and just add more complication.
So If you ordered 2 miners, your miners will arrive with the main bulk order to the HK warehouse and shipped from there directly to you (which will take around 4 days).
Payment for shipping will be directly to the shipping company in HK, but we will be there with them to split the order and make sure everything goes smoothly.
We can write any value you choose on the box to make sure it goes through customs smoothly. You can also buy insurance for your shipment.
Warranty is given by bitmain directly. There is a warranty card in each box (they confirmed this point in writing).

Still looking for an Escrow solution. If anybody wants to send me a lead to a company that can handle it, it would help a lot. Currently all the escrow companies we spoke / met with refused to do it. They usually handle real estate deals.

Several of you already met me in SF and I have a couple meetings tomorrow. Whoever still wants to drop by and look at the papers / list / logistic plan is welcome to ping me this week and come.

We have 962 miners accounted for. I'm waiting to get a confirmation about exactly how many we can get.

Update
I have 946 orders on the list. We called the bitmain contact and asked to bump up the order from 500 to 700 (I'm assuming many orders will fall through when we start collecting payments). They told my staff they will update them on Monday.
I was also invited to visit them in Beijing. I will probably fly over there with one of my staff after the Chinese new years.

If you signed up early or asked for a large quantity, we will probably have you covered.
We may not be able to supply to everybody though.

Shipping: Yesterday my logistics team went over the list and calculated the shipping costs and delivery time for every single person who signed up. I'll email you next week individually.
Bitmain will ship the bulk order to the warehouse in hong kong in Kwai Shun Industrial Centre, No. 51-63 Container Port Road, Kwai Chung, N.T

Shipping will take about 4 days to all locations (air shipment).
If you want to pick it up from the hong kong warehouse or arrange your own shipping, just email me about it.

Will keep you posted.

Is situation with shipping has been clarified? I would like to have my units shipped from China to Europe. I don't want it to travel around the world for weeks, costing shipping fees.

Regarding shipping
I have a staff member in china currently going over the list and calculating the exact shipping cost.
It seems like it will cheaper to ship directly from HK to most places directly without going through SF.
Who ever selected the option of picking up the units from my office in SF - that's still an option of course.

We will email each person who signed up individually to let you know of the shipping cost we got for your specific order size and location.

I sent you a message about having mine hosted instead of you shipping it to me. Can you please check it? Thanks!
Regarding hosting I'll need to make sure I have space and will let you know.

@Nimo

It would be most practical to ask Bitmain, if the warranty is transferable. If you issue invoices through your LLC in the US to each and every member that signed up for this group buy, how will we get any warranty from Bitmain, if you are their customer? How will I prove to Bitmain, that I bought the units from you and that they should help me out if there are any issues with the Antminers?

As for the actuall warranty, remember, that they state 180 days (I believe) from the day the package has been transfered to the (*first) shipping company. So the point being, the actuall warranty period will have like 150 days.

Thanks

Warranty is given directly by bitmain. Not a problem. Each box has the warranty card in it.

The list is currently at 875 units, but I'm assuming many will fall through. I asked my contact in bitmain to bump up the order to 800. You should know though that if everybody who signed up on the google form actually orders, we wont be able to accommodate everyone. We'll simply go with whoever made a larger commitment and signed up early enough.

Currently calling / meeting with multiple escrow services. Unfortunately most Escrow services only do real estate. If anybody wants to send me a lead to an escrow that deals with international trade, your help will be highly appreciated.
