The original point of blockchain is transparency which allows for decentralization. For this reason bitcoin will be the gold standard for store of value. As a coin, there are better anonymous altcoins.

On the contrary, I was a part of the privcy.io. Received over 15k airdropped coins over the 20 weeks, as promised, and am now free to move onto another project. On top of that Privcy is rewarding it's hodlers with a 1 year continuation of AD for anyone with a balance in their registered wallet of over 10k PRIV. For less than a $100 investment it's more free satoshi in a bear market with a coin that hasn't fallen beneath 150 sats despite the seemingly neverending blood bath. I think one of two things is going on. Either we are going to zero, or institutional investors are pushing the price down to buy up the BTC's of the retail investors. Either way. You should only risk what you're comfortable losing. The price is already too low to profit off of mining so the fact that the network is far from vulnerable demonstrates that the community still believes in the future to continue mining at a loss. If those miners lose hope then we will see zero.

How many times has BTC died? As of this writing BTC has lost 77% of its value. I have alts in my portfolio that have lost that inside of a month. BTC is finite. It's had greater falls than this one. Anything less than a meteor striking the Earth and Bitcoin survives.

There was no premine on this project so every coin that exists has been mined. As more blocks are found more coins will be created and as more blocks are found the block reward will reduce. Now is a good time to mine and hodl or buy and hodl!

Who can be so kind to drop a brother some info on the upcoming masternodes? All I know is that the initial investment cost of a MN was $500 and that was before BTC lost another 15%.  What is the expected payout of running one of those bad boys?

I'm stopping by bitcointalk for the first time since September really trying to take a temperature of things on a bloody day for nothing else than to take a temperature of sentiment. Seems mixed. I suppose that's positive. Crypto Twitter seems to have reached capitulation yesterday. Looks like BCT is overly spammy. As markets weaken the desperate get more desperate I suppose.

What you're seeing is market psychology play out. At every support level there are long term hodlers who bought and held for years. Today's news that people who bought in early '17 for $1000 are selling here at $4.5k are afraid of losing their principal. These situations will continue to present themselves until there are enough buyers to reclaim the momentum of the market.

So I still have some coins, the 1250 or whatever was awarded for  the first AD when you guys were still safecash. I have been awarded all airdrops since, but never received the old safe cash tokens in my genesis wallet. My address is the same but the coins aren’t there. Any suggestions or are they lost forever?

I’m very excited to hear that POS is coming in the near future. I am also encouraged to see how the community is responding to this news. It looks like the airdrop model is working to inform everyone of what’s ahead. Even if they are only coming to pick up some free satoshi at least the word is getting out there.

I also suggest using myetherwallet. As a person who once didn't understand that an ether address on an exchange wasn't the same as your own ETH wallet, I missed out on a few Airdrops. Lesson learned. The ERC20 tokens that are often given away will only be deposited by having a fully functional ether wallet. I use myetherwallet. Follow the instructions.

Watching the market the last several days has put me into a coma. No volume, volatility, anything... Just range bound bot trading. Looks like accumulation to me. I bet on a surprise bart move that kicks off another Bull trap and then we go for a big deep plunge below 5k. From there the institutional money will buy up the weakhands and pump it back up.

They just keep selling. It's really hard to tell if we are going up or down. Volatility is gone since July. With the volume where it is seems like bots are just trading this market. Another reason to be bearish is that all the bullish sentiment has been related to ETF which will not be approved in a bot traded heavily manipulated market. That being said. When the whales are ready to create another FOMO pump there is ABSOLUTELY NO STOPPING THEM.

I really like the idea of making crypto more simple and understandable for the less tech savvy investor, customer or merchant... But what kind of markets or use cases are you exploring to utilize Genesis as a currency?
