Re: $13 fee to transfer $600 in bitcoin

My bank can do transfer money for free. Damn

Then sell all your Bitcoins and go back to the traditional fiat monetary system. We've seen this coming. Over time, the fee for transactions in Bitcoin has been continually increasing. I admit that this is not practical at all. Hell, we need much more lower fees. However, due to some greedy miners out there that somehow manipulate the transaction processes, there is no option but to increase fee. It is also caused by the current attack on Bitcoin's blockchain. They are clogging Bitcoin with numerous micro transaction requests. Thus, in order to make our transaction faster, we have to increase the fee.

This will all stop when the attack stops and will be prevented when Bitcoin starts to scale.

Oh..Didn't know about the attack. Why can't the experts identify these attackers and do something about it?

Those fees will kill bitcoins. And your fees seem much lower than other fees I have seen today.

I have no idea how this work, but I hope those miners who curses those high fees will be blacklisted from the blockchain soon.

Well Coinbase is automatically adding such high fees to transactions without giving any options to set fees for their customers.

Satoshi went silent right after some members here promoted it to wikileaks in December 2010. He didn't want to draw negative attention. Has he been silenced by CIA or is he scared? Why is he silent now instead of promoting bitcoin?

Is it possible to verify coinmarketcap volume info by analyzing blockchain transactions? I am a newbie. Is there a website that can show any anomalies reported on coinmarketcap or can one of you experts instruct me how to do it in easy 1-2-3 steps?

Basically, I want to know how much of the last 24-hr volume info reported by exchanges to coinmarketcap is accurate.

Re: is it true that most of the new real money into crypto is coming from korea?

Hmm, I just checked coinmarketcap now, and theres no KRW. Can you give me the link? Anyway if this is true , the Korean coin KRW must be centralized and controlled by their government? Can we mixed a centralized with decentralized coin like BTC, ETH?

What I am trying to say is that the new fiat money that is coming into crypto as a whole and not through exchanges between cryptos is mostly from korean fiat currency on korean exchanges followed by chinese yuan and US dollars. Just look at the markets tab of any top currency in coinmarketcap. You will see korean fiat as the one of top sources of new money.
Nope. I don't believe it at all, the US is too massive and wealthy with many investors.

If you look at the Markets tab for any top coin except for bitcoin, you will see that KRW is the top source not USD. I have been noticing this for several weeks now.

ON coinmarketcap, it shows that most of the new money into crypt is coming from the korean currency KRW. So it looks like their involvement is currently fueling the crypto pricing but is this sustainable?

A lot reinvested incorrectly, I bought quite a few bitcoin at $50 and promplty bought 333mh/s miners.

Wow you have been here since 2012! If you don't mind, how many coins do you own now and how much did it cost you to acquire them roughly? Did you sell any of them and take profit over the years?

Just curious why we don't hear from those early adopters or Satoshi himself much especially when there are major issues being debated that jeopardize bitcoin future. Are they all now rich and don't care any more? Are any of them still active on this website?

which information do I need to save to access bitcoins from different wallets?
by
nikhil0416
on 12/09/2017, 00:42:10 UTC
Newbie question:

I just stored my first purchase using mSigna wallet by connecting to a remote node. I had to enter a long sentence when I created a new wallet in mSigna. I have saved this sentence in a text file on my portable drive.

My question is if for some reason mSigna software stops working in the future, would I be able to access my bitcoins using a different wallet software as long as I have that sentence saved?

I played with mSigna little bit on my own and I see that it has options to export public and private keys to a file. Is the format of these exported files proprietary to mSigna?

Even though I don't have answers to the above questions, I have backed up the "keyphrase sentence" and the exported public and private key files to a portable drive. Would this be sufficient to be able to access my bitcoins from any wallets in the future? If not, what do I need to do to be able to do so?

Thanks

for long term purpose, which is better to invest in , Bitcoin or Ethereum ? Lets discuss that ..

I think Litecoin, Ethereum Classic and Qtum will do well in the near and foreseeable future.

I guess I am too late to the train but I made a small purchase of a fraction of bitcoin lol. I am not rich by any means. Hope this is a good decision lol Wish me luck. Where do you think BTC will be in next 2-4 years?
