Does anyone have any insight on why the net hashrate is so high?

Currently the "official pool" is hovering around 2 MH/s, while the net is in the upper 40's MH/s.

Are there some people really that bullish on wampumcoin?

I'm just sitting back and watching the "battle".  Perhaps it's staged.  I don't know.

I disagree that it was in "plain sight".  I stumbled upon it by accident because the payout numbers seemed strange to to me.  In fact, if you look at the round data about the time this mess started, you'll see it is very screwed up, almost as if someone might have been monkeying around trying to cover the shenanigans up and was having trouble doing so.  After it a bit it looks like they just gave up and stopped trying to make look like 100,000 coins were distributed and let it display 95,000.

But I agree with your thoughts about their motivations.  Why?  It just seems so stupid. 

Still, I don't like it when people try to cheat me, even if there's no money or real value involved.  It's just part of human behavior.  People get mad when cheated.

Can the coin be salvaged?  I don't know.  Like you said, trust is an issue, but I'm willing to consider proposals. 

It's working now.  Yeah, I considered they might be blocking me, but I tried it from another location with the same result.  It's happened to me a few times since the "managment" change.

Whatever it is, it looks like their web provider "suspends" the site occasionally.  I won't speculate why.   

I'm talking about their main site, not the mining site, where you're "officially" supposed to communicate with them.

What for?  Their site is suspended again, anyway.

People have the right to discuss and question things in the open.   Some issues just have to be brought out into the open.

Wampumcoin.com management has had no problem posting private transcripts to facebook trying to "shame" their suppliers and the previous dev of Wampumcoin, so  I don't understand why they expect any special right not to be questioned openly on their behavior.

If the guy is ill, I hope he feels better soon, but it doesn't excuse the pattern of behavior we've been seeing.

If you know the numbers exactly, then you can distribute the coins exactly.

Please explain to me how your taking coins off the top of each block without telling anybody, and then not doing anything about it until confronted about it isn't theft.

You need to do the math properly.  I know in the last couple weeks that you've been skimming coins that there weren't anywhere near 46 active miners (199/4.3).

You also need to look at the percentage distribution for each round.

There usually were only ONE TO THREE miners involved.  Not 46.

All you need to do is step through the rounds results.  It will tell you who mined and their percentage distribution for that round. 

There's no reason you can't audit the data and properly compensate the individuals involved.

Agreed.  We need more miners.  Small miners would be best as it was the original intent.

I know I am not.  Again, I have to question your understanding of the English language.  Do you not understand connotations? Maybe that's the reason people have problems with understanding you?  

The problem is that you've proven yourself to be untrustworthy by taking 5% of every block reward without telling anybody.  That's not a fault on my part.  It's a fault on yours.  Normally I'm willing to give people the benefit of the doubt that they are trustworthy, but you've proven yourself otherwise.



It's more than just name dropping.  It includes the wholesale cutting and pasting of private conversations that's questionable.


You wouldn't be having to do damage control if you treated people ethically and didn't steal from them.

If the coins weren't "stolen", then you should have no problem with returning them.

On that and that point only.  As for the rest of the issues, your actions will speak louder than words.

Like I said, it's in you database in the round data.  I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that you can query and manage your own database.

Yes, it should be very easy for you to find out who was mining and what theri percentage for each round was and make appropriate restitution.


The coin still has some credibility, however, your pool has a lot less now due to your management and theft.

I've seen how your company posts private conversations and uses the names of others inappropriately.  I do not want my name used in a similar manner.

Your little ploy of theft didn't work.  Your deceit was noticed.  You didn't save the pool from "rapists".  You destroyed its credibility.

Now how about refunding everyone you stole from the past few weeks?  I won't hold my breath.

They never did answer my question about the missing 5%.  It's still missing.  I guess they didn't expect anyone to notice.

It looks like most folks have caught on, though, and left the pool to mine elsewhere or solo.

According to my calculations, mining should be long over before the end of this year.  What then?  With no miners and no incentive to mine, what's going to support the integrity of the block chain?  One guy and a couple of GPUs?  

That's a really, really poor choice of words given the current situation.
