Honestly I am thinking that weighted average is the explanation here.
Simple average wont represent the data well, cause you can have many blocks stacked in short period with low diff.
How do you calculate weighted average? What blocks are more important than others?)

If there are many blocks with low diff then next there will be blocks with much higher diff.
Difficulty basically defines the expected number of hashes to mine a block, if nethash finds block faster or slower than target spacing then diff is adjusted accordingly.
If diff retargeting is working correctly, simple average of all diffs will give very accurate number of hashes on a long interval. And 24 hours is pretty long, hundreds or even thousands of blocks.

In other words taking all blocks from last 24h and calculating simple avg is not good or wanted.
It matters how long each difficulty period was mined for.
You are polling diff each N minutes, what is your avg called? Absolutely random? Cheesy

The weighted average I was talking about would take into consideration how long it took miners to mine on certain difficulty.
Time between blocks would just have been the "weight" summing up to 24h.

If diff retarget is working correctly then your statement should be true - simple average should do the work.
There are many coins where imo its not working as intended - or just cant handle the nethash swings.
When you have those low diff periods on straks then the big hashes waiting for the drop will take majority of the blocks and leave after the diff raises up.

About your second question. I believe that polling every N minutes simulates the "weighted based on time" average quite nicely.
Why? Cause the estimated rewards just match what I have mined for the last 24h. Afterall thats all that matters.

If I was to name it then "Normalized time spent mining average difficulty" would be close.
For sure we dont want a simple avg here and the 24h value on wtm should not be interpreted as one.

Last time I asked dbix devs about working apis for network stats I got no response.
Honestly listing invalid api urls on official website does not inspire confidence.
Guess I will wait for the apiv2? Or the old apis are back online?

Apis are already out there, developed by community, and used by all pools

Please add Dubaicoin(dbix) on whattomine, it is 100% legit project..
At the moment dbix is most profitable coin..
Palmex exhchange got license from central bank of Bahrain, and dbix is a part of arabianchain team and palmex.
New version of API v2 will be added by the end of next month..

After years of studying projects on paper, follow later the evolution of them and deal with countless responsible ... what about this coin, DBIX, I have not seen it EVER.

They bring to the market software with flagrant errors, so obvious that the most basic test at the user level, would reveal, both in the DBIX wallet and in the Palmex website ... and we are talking about a project with a year in existence in the ranking.

As an investor and user, I refer, like others, a list of errors and a request for reparation ... and do not deign any more to express any gratitude for the service to the community ... but they do not even provide an answer .

Not satisfied with this ... three days later, they announce unilaterally and with a brief message in twiter, a project attached or parallel to the existing one, Lykos, which can have a great influence on the original project and the rights of the holders, many of which we have all this year supporting this project ... and as, of course, claim an explanation about it, the only thing I get again from those who should be the first to clarify such changes is more silence and indifference , not to say lack of respect, total and absolute.

Sirs of DBIX: Do you know what a governance system is in a blockchain? Do they feel responsible for the treatment of their community? In what regard do you have to the DBIX community? Do you believe that variations in price, supply, project approaches, etc. are matters of interest to the community ... or just something that can be dealt with behind your back?

Waiting, again, for your consideration, I remain with your answer ... if they deem it appropriate.

Thank you.

You could search my dbix thread history and see how many times and for how long I've been calling this team out for their pump & dump shenanigans. All of my requests for a wallet rich list have been ignored and even at times sneered at by some dbix holders for daring to question anything. Once a team member responded with "it's easy to implement a wallet (which I knew already) and he'd get back to me". He never did, he probably mentioned it to the rest of the team who told him "Shooooo, no rich list wallets (it would hurt our scam)". Ever wondered why their development has been exceedingly slow and buggy as hell? They've no real interest in developing the platform to something decent, it's just a circus which allows them to scam their supporters. Make no mistake, I've made $ on this coin, it has been easy. Their like clockwork routine of pumping and dumping was easy to spot for those of us who've paid attention. I even informed readers of this thread of when to buy and when to sell, just so that they'd find it harder to scam their supporters as we'd all be playing their same game on almost the same terms. Some people admitted to making money by following the rules I stated... They remain true.

Don't expect a big future for dbix. Their execution has been terrible to the point of farcical. Then they doubled down the farce by working with Royal Kingdom Amateurs (RKC) who have been hysterical to watch in a schadenfreude kind of way. I gave up watching them a while back as it started to feel evil watching their many faults.

We submitted our coin to be added in whattomine.com more than two months ago but nothing yet... can you please let us know what's wrong? do you need more info?

Would be easier if you reminded me which one you requested ;P

@whittle
I have some reservations about this coin. Honestly the whole rebrand / swap looks like a moneygrab.

@Saphire
We could think about showing 3 and 7day changes, but placing it would be tricky.
Will talk this over during next UI update

There are a lot of information from trusted sources (e.g. forbes.com) about ArabianChain and so many proof of work (e.g. Arabianchain Studio, Palmex, confirmed participation as speaker at blockchain events in the region, ...) - what else do You like as confirmation that the team behind DBIX is more real than half of the coins on WhatToMine? Wink
there is e.g. "SOIL" coin still listed where the dev team is gone since ~ 1 year already....

Sorry I totally forgot to mention the name of the coin. our coin is Leviarcoin. thank you

@fredeq

You have not done the research yet. i can see.
I'll just give you these "little" things that anyone searching DBIX will find.

ArabianChain ecosystem:
DBIX is the fuel of Arabianchain and the first minable digital currency in the region.
Galaxy wallet is the easiest way to store and transact DBIX and tokens on Arabianchain
DBIX Scan is our light explorer where all your transactions are posted and verified.
Palmex among the first digital assets exchanges in the MENA region.
Arabianchain APIs are quickest way to integrate our blockchain with your business.
Arabianchain Studio is an easy to use environment for developing smart contracts.

You can see this at: http://www.arabianchain.org/

Many confirmed participation as speaker at blockchain events in the region.

This is just a summary. There are more publications and more information.

It's the last time I came here to try to give DBIX a try.
I just wanted to see DBIX in whattomine so everyone who mines knows dbix exists and still have the opportunity to mine while the price is low.

Thank you for your attention.
Happy new year to everyone.

Thank you very much for supporting dbix, this coin is one of the best on the market and its not fair that this coin is not listed on whattomine...
