With the addition of a few new coins (notably Zipcoin), X13 is back online.  Obviously have either a failover enabled, or check it every so often, as if the profitability drops too low again (less than 50% LTC continuously) I'll disable the ports again so you guys aren't wasting a ton of time Smiley

Seems as though quite a few folks were waiting on x13 here

Thanks for all your efforts

Thanks for trying to rationalize your way through it instead of immediately jumping to "this guy who has been extremely forthcoming so far, is most likely stealing from everyone", and then putting it in caps, and then in colored bold fonts for everyone to see.  I appreciate it, and I'm glad you're happy with the service here.

only thing he's missing is a few Geocities style animated gifs

...Again i switched to waffepool but this time to another server eu.wafflepool.com:3331 by d=1.28 password and saw again hashrates down to 65-70Mh that is a little larger than 25% stealing hashrates .

by using d=1.28 you will have incredible variance swings

So, I've been getting a few emails from people, and wanted to bring it up here so that everyone knows what is happening.

It looks like BTC-e changed their deposit addresses (not sure why - haven't looked into it), and a handful of users had been mining to the deposit address listed there.  Now that their deposit addresses have been reset however, those coins are now essentially lost.

With a normal address that you own the keys (a personal wallet, on your own computer, or something like blockchain.info - who gives you the keys), you can sign a message from your address.  Which is a way to prove that you own the address.  Unfortunately, when you use an exchange's address, you don't actually own it.  The exchange owns the address (they hold the private keys), and they let you use it on their terms.

In the past (and still), if you end up needing a payout address changed, an email to me with the old address, new address, and a message signed by the old address with text like "Please transfer my earnings from XXX to YYY" is what I would need to prove that you owned the old address, and it is a (reasonably) trivial matter for me to switch the earnings.

The reason for the precautions is just a matter of proof.  While I don't think anyone has tried to "steal" balances from another user, allowing balance transfers just from an email request, with no proof that you owned the original address is just a matter of security.

So what you are saying is you relied on a third party wallet and now that the third party changed their addresses your users are fucked? Seriously? That's the level of professionalism you base your service on?  Roll Eyes

No, what he is saying is that users who used a 3rd party wallet (pool wallet) cant transfer balances from their old deposit address because there is no way to prove they own the address

Something is definitely off with X11 on the global stats page.  It looks like my miners are getting about .00032/mh/s/day over the last 12 hours, and the top bar consistently shows the pool at 300%+ LTC, but the site is showing .00018/117%.  Not a huge deal but I'm pretty sure something is off there.

The top % is running average while on the stats page its 24hr average

IMO the huge hashrates being provided by proxied pools using WP as a backend are the problem and only improve profit for PW but not the dedicated WP miners because they take large amounts of shares away from us ... much like what ASIC are doing to scrypt.

this is along the lines of my previous question
X11 is still a relatively new algo & has few coins in the ecosystem. I see this huge hashrate jump as nothing more than a smash & grab which causepushess us "regular" miners around

+40gh on x11
youch!

Someone brought a lot of hash to bear on X11 today...almost 60-70gh/s
How does this affect the partitioning of hash amongst relatively small coins? Do we just crush them and drive up diff like mad or is there a method in place to promote long term profitability?

tldr; "I want to see it" isn't a valid reason.  If there is a serious concern (an actual exploitable situation), please bring that up, but otherwise, the "just because" doesn't outweigh the (marginally) worse competitive position.

As always, an eloquent, well explained response

Nobody is forced to mine here & if one disagrees with the policies, there are plenty of new multipool startups to head over to.

I advise all on X13 to discontinue until PW fixes wallet for Judgecoin ... profit is now imaginary if we are forked ...

Ouch may be a lot of orphans Sad
judgecoin    500.00019705    43,000.01474863    0.55245019

Thanks for the heads up... back to X11 for now

X13 is officially open for Beta.

Same rules apply as all the previous betas:
 - I've tested it a decent bit, I think everything is working properly, but it may fail at any time.
 - You have to opt-in to see the stats (cookie based, need to opt in once on each browser)
 - Starting off small to contain any issues, only 2 coins to start, will add more as we expand.
 - You're on your own to setup/debug miners, if you know what you're doing, or don't mind stumbling through the setup, go right ahead Smiley

Enjoy:
