I had no problem withdrawing bitcoin (amount worth in excess of 100 USD at today's prices) from C-CEX recently.

Verge (XVG) is a wholly different matter.  Huh

http://astrohacker.com/ahc/bitcoin-is-the-economic-singularity/

After reading this, the scale of black market and digital economies and the effect Bitcoin will have on them I am pretty certain we are going to be very wealthy men -- even with a sum as small as 10 Bitcoins. It's just so hard to believe. We are only in the beginning storms with these significant rallies from 10 to 20 dollars. I will not be surprised to see prices from hundreds to thousands in the coming months.

The world just isn't going to be the same and we have been blessed as the pioneers.

What are you going to do with your Bitcoin wealth once your coins hit upwards of $10,000 a pop?

Now that's what I call a visionary  Grin hope you've kept most of your btc.

That post was made during the first big bitcoin price bubble (peak at USD 31,91), which popped three days later, then crashed down to 2 USD over the following months...

XVG wallet is a major sticking point at present.

I did successfully withdraw a small amount of bitcoin from the exchange very recently so they are not totally down or anything.

Can anyone put my mind at rest here? I set it up as a new device and was given the 24 words on the ledger itself. Does this mean I am safe?

Yes, that's the right procedure; you're good.

2010, 2011, 2013 (twice), now...

Bitcoin is almost certainly in a bubble, a short-term one. I think we may be flirting with the Greed phase, but who knows?

Long term, I'm still very bullish - we may still be at "smart money" or the "lunatic fringe" as Andreas Antonopoulos would phrase it, so eloquently the way he does.

I don't have any very recent experiences with them, but all my trades with them have been smooth and pretty much perfect - based on that, I'd say they are highly reputable. Of course, circumstances can change, and the last order I did with them was slower than usual but nothing too alarming. Caveat emptor always applies but if their circumstances haven't changed in the past year or so, I'd still recommend this vendor.

This thread really gives me hope for the future of bitcoin. Smiley

Imagine if it goes up to $10k in a few years.

We'll be getting plenty of good feeds at Laszlo's Pizza Parlor! Grin

People should really start spending the bitcoins. This hoarding is just silly, it will create bubbles, as the price rises irrationally.

So start spending the bitcoins to avoid the bubbles Smiley

Not selling (back to fiat) but spending into BTC based goods and products.

As the bitcoin marketplace matures over time, the market will smooth out this volatility. More 'coin in more hands is a major help, whether it be spent or HOADRed. Smiley

Or he could just live off the Bitcoin? I mean think about it, he can buy gold, silver, lambos, booze, clothes and pretty much whatever he wants. He just needs to not let the tax man see him living too lavishly.

There mightn't even be any potential tax issue in some jurisdictions, such as those without capital gains taxes, but there is certainly the issue of money laundering / use of ill-gotten gains / theft investigation.

Re: If you had a time machine...
by

Being an age-old fan of Back to the Future (the trilogy), I have the occasional Marty McFly type dream.

Maybe I could go back 50-odd years and somehow marry the lovely lady I had a crush on in my high school days (my then best friend's Mum, P.H. (1944-2009), God bless her soul; linked photo is taken from the public domain). But in that parallel universe, my best friend couldn't then exist (!) and we couldn't have that. Also, life as a coloured person in the 1960s (in a majority white western country) wasn't necessarily always all that flash, even if the music sounded much better than most of today's filth.

Being able to use the time machine only one time poses an interesting dilemma, a very different situation from the BBC TV show Goodnight Sweetheart with its time portal, the novel 11/22/63 with similar, or of course Back to the Future (1,21 GW a prerequisite!).

Hello again!

I'm interested (potentially) in offer number two. I just need to check that all the coin numbers shown in the order list are available, since it seems others are about here placing or considering placing their own orders.

Personally I have about 0.1 bitcoin, I think. I haven't found anything to spend it on, yet! It's a bit pointless to buy my own candles.

Holding is best at this moment of time.

do I sense some free bitcoin giveaway?  Smiley

Not really. I contemplated donating to the forum when that was fashionable: BTC10 would get you a "green coin" label and BTC50 a "purple coin" (VIP) label. However, it's clear the forum and theymos were/are not desperate for the funds, so I decided only to make a token donation in the end.

Its interesting please post here  Wink Wink

How much BTC do you have now ?  Huh

Never enough. One can never hodl enough bitcoin, unless one is Satoshi, Roger Ver, etc., I guess.

How much did you spent?  Roll Eyes

Lots and lots and lots, even when the exchange rate was about 10 bucks. Should've hodled a lot more, with hindsight, but just like with Laszlo the pizza legend, if we never used our bitcoin, maybe it would never have taken off to begin with, right?

Quote
How much did you lost or scammed by someone?  Cry

Maybe about BTC11 by scammy defaulters on BTCjam, and a bit more loose change elsewhere. And I've been more circumspect than some unfortunates in this community.

I'm ashamed to admit it but ever since the price decline I've not been spending my BTC as much as I once was.

I always tell myself it's a currency & not an investment but that little piece in me just seems to think otherwise Sad

Spend and replace is the solution to this?
