Most people I know hate to make KYC, but they have resigned themselves to it. You have to trust the KYC provider, many emails, identity cards and addresses have been misappropriated and sold in the last 2 years.
There are lots of kyc providers and we don't really know which one is really secure. The providers you think they are trustworthy may be selling your identity and you won't know anything about it.
I would trust the most reputable ones. The ones i am most scared of is when the company claims that they will to do it by themselves.

Re: [ANN] SHARD - THE CUTTING EDGE OF CRYPTO | POS CURRENCY & UTILITY COIN
How much shard was lost in the cryptopia hack? And have they surfaced back on the markets already?
We have checked the Cryptopia wallet and it would seem no Shard was stolen during the cryptopia hack, however it looks like only Ethereum and ERC-20 tokens were taken. But to be a 100% sure we will need Cryptopia to fully confirm this once they get back up and running.
Damn, lucky you. It is possible though that they got the private keys but didn't bother to installing the wallets / transfer them yet as they were busy selling erc20 tokens.

More and more people are getting annoyed with the icos especially due to slow and low last year, most of ico investors from last year are in massive loss and now people want to get rid of all these ico based projects and looking for better alternative and this space may well be filled by security tokens offerings or stos, where the investor becomes a shareholder, part owner and is able to receive profits generating by the project, i think sto model is both more suitable and attractive for investors and next trend seems to be the sto.
I agree, I think an STO model is better suited for retail investors in this space. You're investing into something that isn't just an "idea".
While it might be, there are no instant gains on those, or if there is, there will be significant dumps as well. Real world moves slower and crypto people tends to speculate the marketcap that is 20 years ahead. So naturally they will dump when the price don't hold.

Re: 🚙 [ANN] 🚘 CRYPTOMOTORS - THE FIRST DIGITAL AUTOMAKER - COLLECT, TRADE & RACE 🚘
Is there an estimation on when the game is going to be build? Also what's the timeline of this being in exchanges?
Hi Nobytes. We are currently working on the stats game and some 3D mods for some really famous game. (spoiler alert) We are focusing the energy in the 1st design challenge, it is going amazing so far, I invite you to take a look: https://design-challenge.cryptomotors.io
You can expect our cars to be tradable in opensea pretty soon too. We have updated the smart contract so far and have to do last changes to make the assets visible there.
Good to know. Hopefully we'll see that game soon. Do you have any partnerships regarding to the game launch?
Actually yes we do! We are in close contact with a big crypto company that wants CryptoMotors to develop the game in their sidechain. We will keep you informed about it!
So you are saying that the token swap is a possibility in the future then? That is the first time i have heard heard about non-fungible token swap.

Re: 🚀[ANN] LIBERTALIA 🔥New level of discovering the World🔥
Is there any cool reviews or videos of the game play i could check out? My phone is dead at the moment but i'll be sure to check this out when i get a new one.
This project is about an in-time quest in real time. Phone is needed for navigation
I realize that but that doesn't answer my question at all. Is there a way to see how this game works without playing it / owning the phone?
If i counted right the private sale price was $0.034 per token. Do those tokens have any lock period on where they can't be dumped right on the markets?

Re: [ANN][ICO] ALGORY - Multifunctional Tools For Cryptocurrency Traders
Good to see it!! When this cryptoscanner will be released for the public use? @AlgoryProject
Should be ready within next few days - approximately 15-22.02.
Neat! Can't wait to try it out. This turned out to be a cool product that actually keeps developing, good to know that you keep on building and not just focusing on the price.

I am interested, but maybe remove planned exchanges from your ann as you have no control over them and just by naming some of them as planned could hurt your changes to get there, as they have nda and such.

Re: What current cryptocurrency projects actually NEED a blockchain?
Every project needs blockchain but there is one problem that made all those projects die, and that is the speculative hype. When you read through many white papers, people really analyzed how centralized systems are a cheat but as I said, the overhype caused all the doom and almost every project died. To me, everyone still needs the blockchain technology and that's why after the bubble, we've seen even already existing companies and firm trying to implement blockchain in one way or the other.
Why would every project need a blockchain? That doesn't even make any sense to me. While blockchain is a very good solution to some problems, it is not a better solution for ALL the problems.
To be honest you are asking the wrong question.
The question to ask is what projects actually need cryptocurrency, because there are many projects that can actually benefit from the use of the blockchain but do not really need a native coin.
Blockchain and cryptocurrency are two different things and maybe you should do some research on the difference before digging in further.
I am well a aware of that the currency is just a byproduct of the blockchain mining. But the question remains even if we talk about just platform tokens. Some of them have an use case, some of them exist just because of the ico funding model. And i was answering to the claim that "Every project needs a blockchain". So maybe you should read before answering.
I am talking about your whole thread in general started off wrong, you asked the wrong question. Cryptocurrency is not a byproduct of blockchain mining as that is not the reason why crypto exists. What I am saying is that you seem to not be asking the right questions nor gaining the right answers from it.
There are many blockchains that run without crypto and the immutability of it is very essential in the business world.
most of the reason blockchains have coins is just because of the ICO nothing else as they have no real purpose.
a example is hyperledger which uses no cryptocurrency but provides real business to business solution with the use of blockchain which is very much needed in the business world.
I need to study the hyperledger before continuing , thanks for the info. Let me get back to you.

Re: 📢[ANN] [ICO] - MenaPay - Crypto made easier than cash - PRIVATE SALE (LIVE)
Are you going to review the kyc papers by yourselves or will you outsource it to some other company? Lately i've been worried that my info could be stolen and sold in the black market so i kinda want to know who is handling it.

Re: [ANN] VIAZ - First major decentralized peer to peer funding platform on Tezos
This is kinda an ambitious project and i am liking it. 5% bounty is way too high though imho. Lot's of free tokens coming and with the bear market going on, there could be lack of buy support.
I think the essence of bounty is for promotion of a project. It is way easier to for a project to hit the ground running with bounty participants doing the advertisements for them. 5% is not too high if you ask me though because there is a lot more a project needs to be visible in the cryptospace
Then we just disagree, 5% of the tokens is going to be hell of a sell pressure. You can do marketing without giving up the tokens of your project, you can give up the % of collected eth for example. And just by graphics, what made me take a second look of this was the sexy logo. That markets itself if done right.
