and coinmarketcap.com has yet to figure out that the STEEM marketcap is only $8 million instead of $80 million due to the 10:1 reverse split that amost everyone forgets about!
I'm a STEEM hodler and I guess I don't really understand what this means either...? How does the reverse split work? Are you just talking about how vesting STEEM grows (while simultaneously being diluted due to the always-faster-increasing "virtual_supply"?)
I've never really understood this valuation aspect of STEEM...
ETH & ETC are very hot now but 100 $ is not easy goal for both of them to reach . eth struggled for almost a year to get the stage of 00.02 so if everything goes well with etc (specially good development team) 0.02 in year from now.
ETH (before the fork) was bubbling because of the promise of complex smart contracts. People thought that in the long run, ETH would become the basis for a lot of business contracts which is a HUGE value. But that's totally, finally, completely over now. No-one in his right mind is going to put millions again in a risky programming adventure that most probably will not behave as intended and will hence be hacked.
So what's there for ethereum left to do apart being a coin, and maybe a testbed for tiny contracts that could, with some effort, be implemented on top of bitcoin too ?

I am bit confused about this. There is one form of compounding that comes from the perpetual creation of 9X Steem Power for every 1 Steem that is minted. Those 9X SP are distributed proportionally to all SP holders. So your SP holdings are always increasing. I don't think it ever ceases nor changes.
Is there also another form of interest paid on SP?
I think you guys are confusing the SP compounding with Steem Dollar interest (which is currently 10%). Steem Dollar interest is subject to change. SP compounding just keeps on going, as far as I understand it.
I just don't understand, how some people are making 11k on steem with 500 up votes, while others are making 0.05 cents with 30 up votes.

Those with large vested balances (read: whales) have way, wayyyy more voting strength (like seriously, it's insane how many orders of magnitude larger the difference is) compared to the little guys. This has been my largest complaint since the beginning: whales are completely running the show. Other than that Steemit's on the right track.

Nope, it is real WAVES. Exchange buy at ICO and sell at price over x20 for know.. it is dirty job, but YoBit do it systematically.

That sux!!! It's like they get the first right of passage while we sit and watch them make huge money.Well it's technically just IOU's...so I imagine a lot are being bought to take advantage of the temporary hype and smart traders will flip them at 2 - 3x profit real quick (before the whole thing implodes).

Yes and yes. Confirmation just shows my BTC purchases though. Oh well, not too concerned, just not sure why only a few people look to be having trouble when most seem to be receiving the bounty just fine.
