hey ups everyone!, iv just recently started mining litecoins, using the cudaminer.  (if anyone can help) my gpu is GeForce 9500 GS and im hashing at around 6.30 to 6.57 khash/s, and some times even slower, would i be correct in thinking this gpu is just not up to scratch for ltc mining? or is there a way to get a faster hash out of it? and if i could, would it cause damage in any way?
this whole proxy thing is new to me, so im still learning about it. but any advice would be great!  Wink
cheers

Haven't found a single block during the last year of mining. My luck for a block find is long overdue, maybe I'll manage to grab the race prize in the same go, but that'll be stretching it. Smiley
With only 20 GH/s, I think I will also never find a block.  Cry

that goes for me too, i had all my set-up stolen and only just got back online with what little iv managed to buy. good luck to those who are in the running for 1st though  Wink

wow, how did you get it stolen?

my home was raided while i was at work, came home and my pc, all my set up, plus aload of other things GONE! so having to start and build it all back up again.

I am getting this error using cudaMiner:
http://shrani.si/f/1J/zA/18PFvNsm/11.jpg
http://shrani.si/f/1N/jk/3m4BYXU4/2.jpg

I tried different pools, different instructions, but it seems it just won't connect to the server. And I am sure it's not an issue with my net/port-forwarding/firewall since all my other miners work without a problem...
Anyone has any idea what might be causing this?

i have this same problem, is there a cure? or have i missed it somewhere?

3 days later you're up another 10%, to 220 TH/s. Smiley

3 long days to grow a measly 10% ? We're not growing fast enough. Cheesy It's time for another mint race promotion.

Mint Race #5: Win a KnC Jupiter 550 GH/s ASIC device!

Im finally back online after having everything stolen!, gotta say Doc a massive congrats on the BIG 222.21TH!! in the little time i was away we gained some serious hash!  Wink

Doc H I have 20 of the  new fury usb sticks on a preorder have you made them play n play with the java client? The preorder has reopened and I can get some more I would like to buy 4 more but they cost a lot. Let me know if you have had and luck with them.  thanks phil

I don't have access to a device yet, so I can't implement support yet.

Hello, could you explain to me why we gain more bitcoin with Bitminter past 24 hours. what the problem is the pool is too small to solve the blocks?

Anything can create blocks, even an old laptop solomining, or a much smaller pool than ours. But the time it takes on average will vary a lot.

We had a 99.9% CDF block. 1 out of 1000 blocks will be that unlucky, for any pool. What we need to push through unlucky blocks faster is more hashpower. So tell your friends to join Smiley

thanks for the info on the sticks.  I do not have one to send you as I am waiting for them.

Tell anyone who wants to know or learn about BTC to join bitminter!  It helps both them and us. I knew nothing when I started, but learned from advice and the knowledge of the bitminter community. And for that I will always be faithful.  For any newbie who reads this, I can't recommend this pool enough. The more the better as iv learned, either way in going nowhere.  Wink

To the guys worried about ROI on their hardware:
Alot of the doom and gloom is strictly predicated on the current BTC/USD exchange rate.
Bitcoin has come a looong way from $0.05 usd / btc to ~$125 usd / btc, so hang on to those bitcoins, an re-examine your mining investment in a year or too. I believe you will be satisfied !
That said, it is probably true that it is more lucrative just now to buy btc and hold than to mine.
I'm mining because I wanted to learn about BTC from "the trenches" so to speak, and don't regret it one bit.
Love the BitMinter !

Im with you on the "trenches" And the future.

Cant agree more!

While we are mining a block, is there a way to see how big that block is and how far into it we are, or do we just find out the final figure once block is completed?

1 minute?? really! Im not complaining, but this makes no since to me....29hr...20 hr...oh boy 1 min...

Sometimes someone plays the lottery every week their entire life without winning. And then someone plays just a single time and wins. What actually wouldn't make sense is if everyone would win after playing exactly 50 times.

is the luck REALLY this bad usually? is this happening in other pools too does anyone know? there is some very high CDF going on at the moment...

No, it's not usually that bad. And yes, bad luck happens on all pools.

We did have some really bad luck before and that time Organofcorti did a thorough analysis which you can read here: http://organofcorti.blogspot.com/2013/05/131-bitminter-and-luck.html

Thanks for the link DrHaribo, it's a good read and explains quite a lot.  Smiley

all i keep getting is no devices detected. iv tried everything and iv got no where, this is actually starting to drive me insane! any advice would not go a miss right now.
iv tried different forms of .bat files from \\.\COM3 to \COM3 also tried both -s and -S and nothing seems to work, iv only been using bit minter and they work fine there but i would like to start trying other pools now,
my device manager show me all COM Ports that im using the block erupters with, im running windows 7 64bit too if that helps?

cgminer does NOT USE COM PORTS. Please read the included ASIC-README file.

will do thanks, im new to all this so still learning and understanding whats what....
everything listed in the ASIC-README iv already done  installing the drivers
