I updated to the latest firmware on one of my S3's that is on leaserigs and now I can't lease it out. Even after editing the files and allowing the api access and whatnot....all that happens is cgminer just restarts over and over again. Went back to previous firmware (s3+ support) and all is fine.
This is also the underperforming unit that barely holds 420ghs at stock speeds.
Anyone else experience this?

One question, what values would/should/could be entered in that new 'Voltage' field for the S3? And what effect would these values have on the operation?
From digging around on the bitmain github and also opening the cgminer binary and checking things out, it looks like it takes a hex value. According to the datasheet the 'max voltage' is 1.2v. So there's plenty of headroom to mess around with if they come default at .7v (which would be something like 0x07 I imagine....I didn't find a solid example in any of the code).
So I did a little testing and want to post the results I got (if anyone wants to put it into an easy to read graph that would be great).

Why not run a dedicated 220v line and power your equipment off of that? You may actually be using MORE power by stepping up the voltage.
Is anyone else putting their S3's on LeaseRig? I have a couple on there and everything works great using the bitmain original cgminer. However, if I replace that with the new cgminer Ckolivas posted I get very erratic behavior when someone rents the miner. Things like low or 0 hashrate, it reboots, or otherwise just stops mining. If I swap out Ckolivas' new build of cgminer with the Bitmain original it all runs fine again.

To add to the above, low hashrate in the UI sometimes happens when you restart cgminer rather than reboot. After updating to the new cgminer and making it executable, reboot the S3 via SSH not the UI.
Yes - it's executable....it wouldn't be mining and giving the erratic behavior if it wasn't able to execute it.
What I'm meaning specifically is the erratic behavior (at least for me) ONLY happens when the miner gets leased. It will go on and offline and reboot and do all sorts of nonsense when the miner is on lease with cgminer 4.6+. As soon as I switch back to the Bitmain version (and reboot - I've rebooted both via ssh as well as webgui and both result the same), everything returns to normal. Nothing else is changed - only the cgminer binary. Which is why I'm thinking I'm either missing something or maybe the new cgminer binaries don't support or require a different command line options. I don't think it's the pools the miners are leased on either, I've seen different pools being used by different people leasing it.

I'm having an issue getting the leaserig proxy to run...hopefully someone can point out what I'm doing wrong... (I'm only using it for Antminers)
Works ok on windows....I just see a ton of "Connection to LeaseRig.net dropped!" messages but otherwise seems to work ok.

They aren't overclocked. They are straight outta the box. My wife is an interior designer, so all my miners MUST remain in my office so as not to interfere with her masterpiece haha. Not worried, though. I've got an electrician coming out here tomorrow and he's gonna put another circuit in here and I'll be back in business. Need a pro to look at it anyway. If the wiring is crap I need to know now before something terrible happens anyway. Thank you, mindtrip, for saving my family's life LOL
If your electrician is running a complete new circuit you may consider a 220v circuit (or two) dedicated for your mining hardware. You can run more off a 220v circuit, plus it's a little more efficient (which is always an upside) to run the power supplies off of 220 vs 110. I ran 2x220v circuits to where my miners are located and it was the best thing I ever did. If you do this, just be sure that it is recognizable as a 220v circuit. I have orange outlets and red stickers warning of the 220v circuit so 110v equipment isn't mistakenly plugged in (although I'm the only one that uses that area of the basement).
You should have used receptacles and matching plugs that make plugging in 120 V device impossible.
To each their own. For me, since I'm the only one that uses that part of the basement, a simple label and or color code is just fine. Not to mention that everything in that section can work off 220v. If I were to sell the house, I'd most likely revert the breaker or remove the circuit altogether.

Don't bother with a monitor for the rpi. Use ssh to connect to the rpi and work that way.
Simply connect the rpi to the network, and use something like putty to connect to it through ssh using the ip address it gets assigned from your router.
If you don't know how to compile and run the miner software on an rpi, there are a lot of guides out there. If I have time I can write something up.

Hey all....I've been quietly watching all going on here and I have a couple of questions.
How come when I load up my Zeus/Fury miners /w the latest (4.3.5, I think) CGminer, I get only about a third of the end hashrate? By end hashrate I mean 'at the pool end'. Sure, the GUI for it says I'm right on the money. At a 340 clock speed it shows a 1.7Mh. But that sure isn't what the pool rate says, and that's the one that counts. I even back it off (clock) and still the pool hash is soooo much smaller.
Here's the kicker...if I go back to the old 3.1.1 curse CGMiner....works fine and I get about what I should. So...WTF? Am I missing something in the translation? I'm no pro, but not a newb either. I've tweaked the .conf file, etc., and it ain't right. Has anyone else been seeing this and if so, how the heck did ya fix it? PLEASE.....tell me!
I need to know. I've lost sleep. I've been up ALL night.
Second question; Has anyone seen a difference in the hashrates between the GenA releases and the latest? I have a GenA Fury and a newer, recent order one and, WOW. What a difference in those. Can anyone tell me WHY? And Yes...before anyone asks...I've ensured that my informal testing has been on a level playing field. Same drivers, software, etc.
Oh..I should say: Win8.1 64, i7, 16G ram, nVidia, yada, yada. Further, I have 'no clue' how to compile or write code. I work with what's out there and tweak the sh$t out of it. No hardware mods, etc. Out of the box stuff only.

Who's cgminer fork are you using? If you're not using Dmaxl's fork I would suggest trying that (https://github.com/dmaxl/cgminer). I strictly mine using linux based controllers (rpi or PC)...so if you're on Windows I'm not sure what to tell you. Maybe get an rpi? It's wicked easy to get things going on the rpi platform. You can even try rpi mining firmware like Starminer, Minera, Minepeon, etc.

The original software works, and works great after I fixed it (their web gui was all screwed up pointing to the wrong files and such. Fixed the pointers, translated it all to english, and it's been mining 24x7 since I did that.). I get a steady 1.2Th/s from it. However I was contemplating putting it on leaserigs and all works except for the ability to change pools via API.
And for what it's worth, *I* didn't buy it but did agree to it. And as far as I know, most of the hardware is "made in china".
And why you need stock cgminer then?
What are you after? After all these efforts and time spent to make a Chinese web translated and so on
A friendly advise do always check your pool stats against forks hash rate. It might turn out that 1.2t cgminer stats are 1t or less paid shares
In my opinion for 1K+ we deserve at least shiny web translated
But who cares.....
I wanted stock cgminer to see if I can get it to work with leaserigs. The original webinterface had both chinese and english in it, I simply removed the chinese as it made things look MUCH cleaner. Also, according to ghash.io, my poolside hashrate ranges anywhere from 1.05Th/s to 1.1Th/s.
And I may be "just a customer"...but I'm a highly technical one

Has anyone gotten CGMiner 4.5 to run with the Gridseed A1 units? I see A1 files in it, I've compiled it with the A1 support....but it never detects the A1 hardware when I run it.

Knowing more or less what I am talking about (I wrote those A1 driver and framework), I suggest you better bother the manufacturer and ask for upstream integration of their private driver (assuming there is one). They essentially have to, i.e. if your product was delivered with a private binary version of cgminer, GPL grants you the right to request the source code. If they refuse to deliver, there are means to deal with GPL violations.
But I guess you were not looking for troubles, so the short answer is this: no, it won't work.
Hey - an answer is an answer right? At least now I know I'm spinning wheels for nothing and can actually chase down the right path. I was under the assumption (I know...don't assume) that they were all at least very close hardware wise with the controller and board implementations.
If I were to get the source, what would I do with it then? I'm not a C coder, so having the source itself won't do me much good to get it working with a more recent version of cgminer. Would I give it to you to look at to gauge feasability of adding it to upstream?

I've re-cloned and recompiled with different configurations, all of which enable the bitmine_A1 (I also compiled with Avalon as was mentioned in a previous post, some I enabled ALL hardware). None detect the hardware.

Well, I've added the thermal paste to the back, applied heatsinks to all IC's on the top, and there is a fan blowing air through the case over the heatsinks I applied. Ambient temp is around 73f. Temperature probe attached to the side of the case/heatsink reads 82f.
I hadn't known about the higher speed information...however....for kicks I started it running at 350 over 2 hours ago. Right now it's sitting at 1.39Mhs and around 4% error.

what chips settings you had used for the miners in hashra image?
i am using 2 GAW fury set with chips setting to 12 and clk speed to 250Mhz
For the Fury's you should be using chip setting of 6. It's a per-miner setting, not a cumulative setting.
i wanted to do it that whay, but 1 thing, i suck at soldering or relocating the plug.
yeah....there's always stuff like that to get in the way
i am thinking to stack 3 fury together than put fans on both end. 1 side brings in cool air the other side extract the hot air.

It might work better if you made a 'tunnel' and used a single 120mm or 140mm fan on each end (much like the Antminer S3). This way you're forcing the air through a particular path no matter what's in the way and it won't be deflected/scattered about.
The problem with the tunnel idea is the frickin' wires that come out of both ends. I could do it with mine fairly easily because I relocated the power connector to the other end where the fan and usb are. So I have one end that's connector free.
