I wonder why people call it American dream Smiley

It used to be the American dream:   individual liberty with individual responsibility.
The 'left' has ruined it... by selling theft of property by way of democratic election.

America is hurting yes, and hopefully "we" will learn and get better.   Hopefully Obama was the bottom.

....stop voting democrat.
The bottom is the guy who is currently in office sitting at a 30% approval rating.

You are wrong in every possible way, but that's okay with me.   Good Luck.

I think USA government made the right move. I know ponzi is prohibited on this forum, I don't understand how they allow bitconnect thread here...

The USA govt did nothing and BitConnect is not a ponzi.
Texas is just one state out of 50 states and does not make law for the entire USA.
(I am an American Citizen and I know what I am talking about).

And if you look up what a "Cease and Desist" letter is, it is not legally binding.... not by itself.

BitConnect is now asking all its customers what state they live in, if a USA customer, and, they have stopped accepting any deposits from anyone from Texas, as requested from the state of Texas govt.   If they catch you lying, you will be banned.   They can catch you when you try to upgrade your account to "verified" ... you need to show proof of who you are and where you live.

That said, BitConnect needs to start talking to the public, or, whether they a scam or not, their BCC will go down ... a lot.
It's not doing great right now.

Agree, BitConnect is not a ponzi, but might be a scam.

The BCC price touched 400 after the Texas news, but apparently the world doesn't care.... BCC up to 440ish now, I think the all-time high is 450 ish.

Also, I think they won't reveal their secrets.... if they did, everyone would see how great it is and rush in and ruin it.   In other words, I think they are playing the secrecy to the advantage of maximum longevity.   It is their secrecy that keeps me (and probably everyone) from dumping 10k+ into BitConnect.

Just my thoughts, no proof or anything.   But rallying on 'bad news' is usually a good sign.

1/2 Our counterparts at the Texas State Securities Board have ordered BitConnect, a $4B cryptocurrency promoter, to halt its fraudulent sales.
https://twitter.com/FortWorth_SEC/status/949317164867219457

this is silly because bitconnect does not engage in fraudulent sales.   and I bet the world won't care much about what TX has to say.

This is likely the beginning of the end of Bitconnect and similar lending programs, for U.S. residents. The banksters will have their way (for now).

I am planning to pay taxes on my gains, once I convert them back to $USD.    But....

I was thinking the same, but, what we've already seen, is, govt can only maybe stop people from making new loans / deposits.   How could they possibly stop Bitconnect from paying out to people?

Banning stuff doesn't erase things from existence.

Govts are the most insecure thing on the planet.   And they are control freaks.   If they can't define it, they can't control it, and if they can't control it, they go nuts.

Dunno how this will pan out.   Govts tend to win, at least in the short term.

add:   I just logged into my bitconnect account and they have a statement -- they are complying with the Texas order and they have stopped accepting deposits from the state of Texas.   Everyone will continue to receive their payouts.   They also required me to specify which state I live in.

The point I'm making is, if Bitconnect was trying to skirt the law, they wouldn't ask that we certify which state we live in.

Me and this guy think alike, but he did the spreadsheet.   BitConnect is no ponzi.
I just wish they weren't so mysterious...
