Re: [ANN] TeamRedMiner 0.8.3 - Ethash/Kawpow/Etchash/Autolykos2 and More

To the Teamredminer development team:

Is it possible to put in the Power throttle limit control to slow down the mining itself in order to protect GPU does not over temp under GPU temp/ Junction temp/ Vram temp , pls consider

Such a feature isnt there at the moment, but check if these commands help in your case to protect GPUs
Code:
--temp_limit=TEMP     Sets the temperature at which the miner will stop GPUs that are too hot.
                        Default is 85C.
--temp_resume=TEMP    Sets the temperature below which the miner will resume GPUs that were previously
stopped due to temperature exceeding limit.  Default is 60C.

Are those temps the edge temps? or is there a way to turn a gpu off based on the TMEM temperate until it cools down?

again, great project, dev's have been very helpful on the discord channel!

So do you have any plans for partnerships with torrent sites / site owners? or is this more an opportunity for them to earn coins for growing the database out.

Nice video, shows a good use case for the project.

Torrents are a huge market and it is annoying when the sites get shut down, using a tor connection through the blockchain is a great way to keep the link alive and remove the power of dmca requests etc from shutting sites down.  Great job with this looking forward to seeing more updates and exchanges in the future!!

keep up the good work!

Thanks!

Just to clarify - tor is optional, and the magnet links are available on the blockchain, we don't make any external connections.
Each node holds and shares the list of the torrents.

You can use the QMTool to submit a torrent/magnet link at the cost of a 1 QMC investment,
and I say investment because you can get up to 5 QMC back next month for every link you post that is voted as good.

So in a nutshell, we are aiming to be a decentralized piratebay, kickasstorrents, leechtorrents, any-other-site
But without a website - just a wallet that can search & download torrents, where you can earn some $$$ from submitting quality stuff, as opposed to torrent sites where one can submit all their life in return for nothing but the site being shut down eventually.

The benefits are numerous - no censorship from the site owners, no censorship or takedowns by isps, no annoying ads and popups - and as you can see the speed of searching is pretty much instant, all you need to do is sync with the network  Cool

Yes I know the tor connection is optional, its just a very nice touch especially for owners of torrent sites who want to switch over to using QMC for distribution with the added benefit of using tor for anonymising and protecting themselves further , being able to monetise those links with a coin that could increase quite a bit in value is a major added bonus if you ask me. I'm pretty sure once a decent sized torrent site decides to start adding its links the rest will be sure to follow as long as the application runs as expected in the future.

Also, loving the ease of the masternode setup, way easier than a lot of other coins and will defo be a help to new investors without alot of exposure to setting up a MN for the first time. I also like the fact that the collateral and rewards are pegged to the number of nodes running, defo a help to stop those Dumps from happening.

Like I said man, keep up the good work!

Howdy People!!

Just wondering if anyone can help me with this.

I've already got a few rigs of vega 64's & 56's (sapphire reference cards) that run excellent at the lowe power rates (~160w.)

I got hold of a few Gigabyte vega 56's Gaming OC editiion cards and was wondering if I can apply the same regedit tables etc to them as I would with a reference card. They draw way too much power just over clocked but I'm not sure how safe it is to use the powerplay tables / regedit on them.

Any one got any experience with these?

cheers

Any chance the price drop is related to the increased circulating coin supply? Went from 5.5bn to 6bn coins

How can they just dump coins like that when the price is already free falling?
Don't think they dumped it. My assumption is it is creeping up due to mining which started on 1st November.

Does anyone know the exact number of coins mined to date?

Based on my mining and some simple modelling I would guesstimate at around 9 million.

I would love to know how you work this out exactly though!

Not sure what modelling you used to get this figure but its wildly wrong.....

At 300 mh/s network rate we're currently mining nearly 10 million coins a day across the entire network.

Re: Installing 6 Sapphire Rx Vega 64 8GB HBM2 HELP !!!
by
oblione
on 12/01/2018, 17:07:54 UTC
Hey man

I've got a 6 card rig.

I had a bit of a nightmare getting it all running but after a bit of research I finally got it figured out.

I use a Biostar tb250 btc pro motherboard
6 x sapphire rx vega 64's
2 x 120gb ssd drives
6 x pcie risers
corsair hx1200 & hx1000 PSU's
8gb corsair Ram
G4400 CPU (as it has igfx)

To get everything to work stable I had to do the following;

1. setup the rig without the vega's in it
2. install windows & reboot
3. install motherboard drivers & reboot
4. set my bios to use igfx as primary display drivers & reboot
5. set virtual memory to 110gb (basically use 1 ssd as vram) & reboot
6. connect all vega cards
7. Install blockchain drivers & reboot
8. configure my overclocking / undervolting
9. setup the miner
10. mine

I found that when I used less that 16gb of virtual memory for each card in the rig it would mine for a few hours and then freeze, after some looking around I found a few guys who told me about the 16gb per card virtual memory setting and it's run stable ever since.

Hop this helps man

Hello im considering building a Vega rig for mining xmr . Can i get some suggestions with an either 4 or 6 card vega 64 build   I want something stable (not counting initial time building setting it up ofcorse) that i do not have to micromanage/troubleshoot every few days/weeks. electricity is around 10-11 $USD cents here in canada

im thinking:
6x Gigabyte Vega 64
Intel Pentium G4400
2x 900W HP Server platinum power supply    @220
32GB thumb drive for hard drive

thats as far as i got so far, need suggestions for motherboard and ram

If you want to run 6 x 64's then you are going to need a decent ssd drive as you'll need to set at least 60gb as virtual memory if you want to get them all running on a single rig without the miner constantly freezing and crashing every 20 mins to a few hours.

IF you want to go for Cryptonight, stick with Vega56. and BC Driver

Max. 4 cards/Rig. More makes problems. Use the registry patch for voltages. Runs best at 1202 mhz GPU / 900-940 MEM @850mv.
My Vega56 run at 140 Watt each, doing 1650 h/s each with AMD-STAK-XMR,
or 1950 h/s at 275 watt each 1630 GPU / 1100 MEM with Vega64 Bios.

Check out the "monero and vega ultimate guide" post on reddit, I have 3 vega 64's and 1 vega 56 running generating 7700h/s on cryptopnight pulling 670 watts at the wall that includes the motherboard, harddrive and 2 addon fans.

you can seriously undervolt these cards man, theyre giving me great returns.

Last days send multiple deposit from my local wallet to cryptopia without problem.

Today send 2 deposit but nothing appear.

Transfer with multiple confirmations.

Have same problem with 1 deposit. No answer on ticket. =/

I have the same problem on 2 deposits..... funny how last time it looked like the electroneum wallets where going to be released last week they "swept the wallets" for 24 hours while trading went crazy and now its been announced the release is this week the wallets on cryptopia are down....... just saying......

On stock vega 56s (stock bios), what are the best wattman settings without the reg edits?  I've been messing around with some of my cards and while some handle 950Mhz well, one of the cards can barely stay stable at 920.  Most of the other settings are all dynamic, but I'd like to change that.

Thanks.

GPU Freq:  -30
Mem Freq: 950 Mhz
Set your fan to manual and @3000 rpm min
Powerlimit -20%

You should get around 1800hs on cryptonight coins and 39+MHS on Eth and be stable at around 50 degrees on an air cooled card

@oblione

4x vegas dual mining with no undervolt? That could be using more than 1200W. Check your consumption because you could be hitting the limits of your PSU.

@syncis

Not sure about cutting down on instances, but for the disk make sure you turn off the recycle bin, and if you're feeling adventurous you could turn off restore points. Each one uses 10% of the drive IIRC. Also the Claymore logs can add up after a while.

So would I need to set that in the wattman panel or by using the claymore config file?

Sorry pretty new to mining like this so am on a steep learning curve with these cards.

thanks for coming back so fast fella

Hi Guys

I'm wondering if you can help me with this.

my rig keeps rebooting shortly after the miner starts on this and I cant figure out why.

I'm using 4 x vegas
1200w PSU
latest blockchain drivers
32gb virtual mem
8gb ram

I've got the fans set manually it wattman to 3000rpm min
I've disabled all other over / underclocking and am just trying to run this as a baseline test before I start playing with the other settings

The miner starts up, runs for a few seconds and then the rig just resets and wattman resets everything.

The rig works brilliantly on cryptonote but I fancied giving some eth dual mining a try for a while.

Anything that would normally cause this type of behaviour?
