The majority of users are stuck in Mt. Gox. We'll see what happens when it reopens.

That majority of coins are in people's wallets.

I suppose but look at the volume being traded at Tradehill. It's pretty low.

I had an expected clearing date of 6/16 at 5PM CST. It's many hours later and no clear. Anyone else experiencing this?

Yeah me too. Ugh the price right now is so low as well. Sad

Re: My MtGox account has been hacked

This is starting to worry me as well because a few days ago I found out that someone was trying to log in to my email (used on MtGox) but was unsuccessful - the site told me that numerous login attempts failed. The account at MtGox and my email had different passwords so I'm guessing that's what thwarted it.

Lol, if prices go up high enough, you might be trying to fish it out in a couple of months.

I'll fish it out for him haha.

Nope, that's barely 1.3%. I have to pay 15$ to deposit into mtgox, at any amount, and the same to withdraw. You got it cheap.
You mean the fee is different between people?

Nah, he's talking about bank wire transfer.

Currently, 100 MH would give you 0,17728007 BTC/day. At rate $21,70 per BTC this gets you $3,8470/day

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to get $3800/day for 100MH, but I don't think that is correct Wink

Hmm, there were commas in place of decimal points. Fixed.

Europeans use commas at the decimal point.

This is a very volatile market. If it were to crash I'd expect it to happen in only a few hours.

There's a whole lot of people who have no idea what the wallets are. It needs to be made clear that the wallet is fairly important from the start.

I think when the "underground" bitcoin economy flourishes, while the "legitimate" socialist economy perpetuates in mediocrity, you might find people make interesting decisions.

True. I think if it becomes the currency it is promised to be then it can't be stopped.

Here's Gavin talking to ABC Radio's excellent PM Show in Australia.

Quote
GAVIN ADRESEN: Bitcoin is really a pure money. It's a store of value and a means of exchange and that's all it is. It's almost a plutonic ideal of what money is, in that there is nothing backing it beyond the fact that it's useful as a money.

+1.  Very insightful.  Indeed, bitcoin is the plutonic platonic ideal of what money is...

correction: I just realized that I just copied abc.net.au misspelling of "platonic"...

Time to fund nuclear war with BTC!!!
