Im having trouble downloading a wallet to store my tokens..

I left them in cryptopia but they appear to be closing your market now.

And since I can't get a wallet....

Are they lost forever or what?

Cryptopia seems unable to handle Doge and LTC markets for now. Therefore they put them on hold and asked their members to remove their outstanding orders on those base markets.

Quote
Market Closing

Due to being unable to provide any kind of realistic or accurate ETA on both the DOGE/LTC markets being resumed, we have decided it best to close these base markets at this time. Please close any open orders, and we apologize for the inconvenience

The SLOTHcoin wallet is still supported at Cryptopia though, and so your SLOTH are safe for the time being, like many others though trade has been frozen. But that is a choice Cryptopia made due to extreme demand and trying to fix their capacity needed to be able to handle all markets again. Unfortunately that means Slotcoin can not be traded against LTC and Doge at the moment.
https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/CoinInfo/?coin=SLOTH

If you want to use the Slothcoin wallet you can download them at:

http://slick.cf/coin/sloth/download/

or through the revived Slothcoin dot Org website:

http://slothcoin.org

Please be aware that it will take a while before the total blockchain is synced. There are close to 680000 blocks to be downloaded.

Which forum is the right forum and which wallet is the right wallet to use?
I thought this was the right forum and also the wallet 1.3.1 build 3.

Correct, this is the right forum and version 1.3.1 build 3 is the right version.

Hi. I put yesterday 10 dollars at 3 litoshis on Crytopia now is a 6 so 100% ROI. I put 10 dollars cause was really cheap and who knows maybe a pump could happen, now I want to know about the project is it dead?, I read a new project is doing but can I use the slothcoin to staking or something like that or should I just sell and got my %ROI
Thanks.

Well, as long as I'm here...

Slothcoin is quite alive, the project was picked up by the community around 2014/15 to move it to 2021, at least. There are many nodes connected to the network, way more than then there were 2.3 years ago when the new version 1.3(.1b3) came online. (My own node currently has between 22 and 24 connections.)

There may be Slothcoin community members that want to develope it even further, as I think I read somewhere, there is the idea to do that. The current version has POW mining only, at 4321 SLOTH reward per found block.

About selling or/and buying that is your choice to make. If it is as high as 6 lite-satoshi than that is really good news for those who hold SLOTH. Now I get why there is so much activity on the network!  Cool

Good luck, may the Sloth be with you.

At some point I decided to throw the towel in the ring. This was after I suggested to move Slothcoin to a blockchain like Bitshares. It was a suggestion, but due to some negative responses I decided to stop putting my precious time and energy into it.

If this works people will praise you in good times, and damn you in bad times. If you let the praise enlighten your ego or the damn hurt your hearth, both you and I, my friend, are in trouble

Negative responses there are going to be. Natural and unavoidable it Is. The harsher they are the more successful you were: only when it has gone really down people will go mad, and that means it has gone up at some point. Ups and downs are the way of both life and economy and, at a faster rate, coins. But happiness and sadness and anger had to be under a fierce control to be able to handle any of them.

Sloth could be stagnant for years. Most of the coins had been like that just to awake recently. It doesn’t make them good or bad choices. Most of the people want a fast, effortless fortune: is a modern fairy tale for adults. Fortune may come, but discipline, patience, time and effort have to be there first.

Find a good place/exchange were the coin could endure bad times, make it safe and alive from time to time. Keep working when business fails and friends turn back on you: it happens. When business succeeds old friends will come back and new friends will appear, even love will be at every corner. Enjoy but don’t trust, the few that remain when shadows come, those you can trust, even if you hate them sometimes.

Defeat is a good teacher if you endure it, and success could be a treachery friend, but neither is permanent, unless we decide so.

Those are very wise and true words, my friend, thank you very much.

It will happen everywhere, in every situation, I know. And sometimes it is a signal to move on, take the good memories and dear friends along. At a certain point I decided to change my direction. So far it was bumpy, new, full of challenges and with a lot to learn again but also a great time, mostly.

Thank you for your kind reply, have a good day and a nice weekend.

All the best to you and those dear to you.

WOW WOW! Words are so cheap to fool people and get their monies.  Is it not the same you that watched your hands off SlothCoin since July? You are the major miner of this coin and now you quickly voiced out cos someone is here to spoil your bad business by warning the naiv investors you 've been dumpimg the wortless coin on.

Below is the copy of your post in July and ever since truly no word from you not even a post.

“Dear Slothcoin community,

...

With kind regards,

Oaldamster

Did you realize you hurt those that believed in SlothCoin when you left? Now you are here to save your mined coins. Did you know how much I lost in this coin and Reecoin because of heartless people like you. All your words are empty and very fake.

You might want to do a fact check, maybe by reading all the thread(s) about Slothcoin.

Because first of all, Seasonic, Timo is the original creator of Slothcoin, not me. Somewhere in 2014 I became involved and Slothcoin became a community project. It was forked, a new thread was started here and it got a new website as a home. Where it still is and being kept alive.

In the post of july I was being open and honest about what I was going to do and why. Slothcoin could just move on as it was as it had and has the right tools to move on. Sorry to read that you lost a lot of money in Slothcoin and others. And I spoke out now because somebody is spreading wrong information and FUD. Even though I do dislike doing it, I still like to see Slothcoin move on. Because I actually put a lot of time and effort into it, mainly for the joy, actually. Met some really nice fellow Slothies and friendly helpfull people.

But it is really the kind of responses like yours that have finally pushed me away from it all. Because as I see it you are acting quite offensive towards me with accusations that I do not recognize myself in.

Thank you for reminding me why it was again that I moved on the better things.

Hello Slothcoin fan,

Since the 28th of november 2017 somebody registerded the Slothcoin dot org domain again. You can find the info here:

https://whois.icann.org/en/lookup?name=slothcoin.org

It holds the right version, v. 1.3.1.3 for a 32 bit Windows executable. There are no other version available there and no Github link to the right source.

Recently I became aware of some FUD that is being spread about Slothcoin. And it contains some misinformation that I think would harm Slothcoin.

First of all it seems to be done by some forum members that do not seem to care reading the Thread(s) they reply to. At least not far enough to get a real good understanding about a subject.

Timo was the creator of Slothcoin and moved on to a new project. As is very common in the realm of Free and Open Source software, just as in Cryptos. And there have been replies by Timo about the fork and supporting it. From there on it was a community effort.

All in a consensus about the version 1.3(1 build 3), that is on the Cryptoguru faucet, at the Crytopia exchange and at Banxio.

The original website Slothcoin dot org went offline years ago and got back to life just recently. With a design not really looking like the work of Timo. But maybe a Slothie fan made it. To make sure it can be downloaded and used.

As I came to understand some download links at Slick dot CF did not seem to work anymore. Due to a file serving service stopping to share it. Will see if I can fix that anyway.

But it was at Slick dot CF the community version of Slothcoin found a new home actually.

My activities for Slothcoin I quit a while back, and I did announce it. And just like others promoting Slothcoin I gave away most of SLOTH. Together with another Slothie we did a lot of promotion on SteemIt dot com. With several handouts. And while mining support was low we did pull Slothcoin through.

At some point I made a suggestion to move Slothcoin to a different type of Blockchain, but even the proposing it was getting enough negative feedback for me to decide it was enough for me. There are enough in the community to keep it moving.

Glad to see there is a lot of nodes running on the 1.3.1.3 version actually, somewhere at block 670xxx. And Slothly going for the future.

But, when I got noticed about the FUD that is being spread I needed to get back to this forum once more as this is bad for Slothcoin. Because of the misinformation that is been spread.

To finalize it, Slothcoin in its current version 1.3(.1 build 3) is the right version. And this is the third year since the community fork that it is running.

Great to see it go up on the market. Maybe good things do take more time?

All the information is in the thread(s) about Slothcoin 1.3 and 1.3.1.3, the replies by Timo, me and others of the community.

For the love of Sloth I will update Slick dot CF so who ever is holding Slothcoin dot org can also share the Linux and Mac files. Plus a link to the Github address of version 1.3(.1 build 3)

All the best for 2018 and may the Sloth be with you!

With kind regards,

Oldambtster

Hi Slothcoin fan,

Sometimes it might be good to take the time and to actually read a thread, or two, for some members, before spreading FUD. Or share misinformation.

First of all, about the reborn Slothcoin dot org. It was only recently registered again and it is not at all looking like something that Timo made years ago.

The original Slothcoin creator Timo moved to a new project a couple of years ago. It is all in the thread for you to read. In the one Timo made and the one I made for the announcement of the community fork.

Version 1.3.1.3 is a fork of version 1.3.0.0 and has some changes. Like a lower amount of Slothcoin to be released. About 92 billion instead of a 100 billion. So, more rare, SLOTH maybe even could cripple ripple, you never know.

Also the difficulty adjustment was changed to get our beloved Slothie out off high diff more easily. As it did get stuck in the past, but after the update Slothcoin was moving Sloth and steady.

And the block reward inflation was changed in such a way that Slothcoin can be POW mined for a 4321 SLOTH reward until the year 2021. More or less.

Currently it is at block 670xxx and moving on nicely as a lot of nodes are connected. And the market price is going up. Now who would have expected that?

Now, me and other Slothies have been putting a lot of time and effort to get it on a Faucet and to promote it. Also I wanted to create a webadres to have a landing spot for the long term. As many Crypto forks have a site that works for a year and then disappears. Slick dot CF is already online for years. And I will update some info there too.

While Slotchoin dot org was dead for years, only revived apparantly since 28th of november 2017, the Slothcoin fork got a new home.

Not only did the Slothies community put time and effort in, we also gave away millions in SLOTH to spread the wealth. And there were handouts of millions of SLOTH at SteemIt dot com.

It took a lot of time and effort to get it to where it is now. That was started by Timo and moved on by the Slothies community.

At some point I decided to throw the towel in the ring. This was after I suggested to move Slothcoin to a blockchain like Bitshares. It was a suggestion, but due to some negative responses I decided to stop putting my precious time and energy into it.

But, I just can not stand it when people just spread Fear, Uncertanty and Doubt. All they have to do is take some time to read the thread(s). It is all there, also me announcing stepping back!

And the invite to the Slothies to pick it up. Looking at how it is getting mined right now tells me that it is going places. Therefore I am happy, even though I gave away most of the SLOTH I mined myself.

All those nodes connected are in consensus by the way over the right version. And that is 1.3.1.3 as is the actuall Windows executable that is shared at the renewed Slothcoin dot Org. And it is a x86 version, 32 bit and for your information, I share this about it:

File Version Information

Copyright   2009-2015 The Bitcoin developers, 2014-2015 The Slothcoin developers
Product   Slothcoin-Qt
Description   Slothcoin-Qt (OSS GUI client for Slothcoin)
Original Name   Slothcoin-qt.exe
Internal Name   Slothcoin-qt
File Version   1.3.1.3

There is no new version coming up, as far as I know. Chances are you have been using version 1.3(.1 build 3) all this time already. As it this is the third year ongoing since the fork got consensus by the Slothcoin network.

Really did not want to respond actually, but I just am very allergic to misinformation and FUD.

Who ever recently registered Slothcoin dot org again I do not know, but it does actually offer the right version for Windows: Slothcoin 1.3.1.3. and the right links.

Wish you a great new year, and may the Sloth be with you!

With kind regards,

Oldambster

it will be nice to make some steps to raise value of this coin, maybe develop masternode system, like ~12 500 000 [576 (blocks/day) x 4321 (block reward) x 5 (days mining)] sloth for 1 masternode.
So everybody can hop in, this will help the price and attention.

Maybe somebody would like to pick up on this idea?

Why is nobody trying to get the SLOTH on other exchanges, for instance bittrex.
Or if it is possible a chinese exchange like yobtc.com.
I see a little growing of more interest in the SLOTH.

There is more interest in Slothcoin indeed.
We, @jmsr1978 and I, have been promoting it quite a bit the past few months.

Maybe somebody will pick this up and help Slothcoin get to other exchanges.

Dear Slothcoin community,

Since block 300K Slothcoin v1.3.1b3 has been moving forward quite steady, like a Sloth does. Unfortunately the permanent nodes disappeared at some point. Also there did not seem to be peers that had TCP port 5107 open and it looked like the Slothcoin network was about to go down. That after some attacks with older Slothcoin versions that tried to enforce a blockchain split. The past few months have been a rough ride for the little Sloth that could. And together with some other Slothies (Like Star Trek fans are: Trekkies.) we managed to pull it several times out off high diff. Plus making sure version 1.3.1.b3 stayed the longest chain.

Because of the possible p2p network down for good, therefore ending Slothcoin, until it would get restarted again (a possible scenario), the idea came to create a blockchain swap for Slothcoin. All with the idea to safe Slothcoin, by moving it to Bitshares for example. With a swap of 1000:1. Bitshares has its own decentralized exchange where Slothcoin would be traded against all the other cryptos there. Also it would have its own mobile (bitshares) multi-wallet and point of sales. This looked like a possible solution for Slothcoin to be able to move on and even get more value plus better and broader use.

A recent reply by @digit about that swap idea put a different light on it. Now from my point of view blockchain technologies like Bitshares, Steem, and soon to be EOS, are far superior to any other. And if Slothcoin could not make it on its own, it could be moved to a better system. And it would get its own use in a multiwallet with a point of sales to support it. That was the idea, the suggestion.

Thanks to the reply I have become aware of how I actually have moved on. Away from Bitcoin like cryptos, energy burning POW mining and centralized exchanges. Since I became active at Steem, traded at Bitshares and started to see the huge potential that EOS is going to bring, that is what I see as the crypto future.

The reason that I put a lot of time, effort and energy in keeping Slothcoin going was because I had a click with it, like a few others I know also do. And I wanted it to go on, just like some other Slothie fans.

But now things were put in perspective for me, that was the final push I needed. The community I moved forward to into the crypto future is at Steem, Bitshares and is soon to be extended to EOS.

That is where I am going to put my time, effort and energy in. Also because the community at Steem is very supportive, in so many ways. (And I get payed quite well for posting, that is a nice bonus...)

Slothcoin future?
It was, is and will be in the hands of the Slothies, the Slothcoin community. Version 1.3.1b3 set the POW block mining rewards in a way that it could be mined until 2021. If I remember the math correctly. Rewards of 4321 SLOTH can be given until block 1229584 and the current block count is not even at 600K right now. So, still a lot of SLOTH to get. Roughly calculated that means there is still about 3 billion SLOTH to mine.

If Slothcoin moves on depends on peers having TCP port 5107 open or even better two or more permanent nodes available. But even if it comes to a temporary halt, it can always be restarted, brought back to life from a long sleep. (That accounts for any coin that apparantly has stopped over time.)

As long as possible I will keep the website home of Slothcoin, slick dot cf, going. The sourcecode is still at Github and can always be forked. Some Slothies and I, active at Steem, will do our best to keep an eye out for the little cute one. And will try to help it get out off high diff, if possible.

But I will stop with taking any kind of innitiative here or elsewhere anymore, concerning Slothcoin. Time for some new fresh innitiatives from others. For me Slothcoin was, is and will be a community effort.

Thanks for all the support and all the best to you and those dear to you.

With kind regards,

Oaldamster

anyone have problems depositing to cryptopia. I sent 2 deposits over there and they never hit my account. I contacted them but they said since there is no block explorer they can't find the transaction.

You are using wallet version 1.3.1b3 I pressume?
Then it should be alright if you got the right deposit address.

My experience though is that it takes quite a while before you see it on your balance at Cryptopia.

imho slothcoin should NEVER become a token or coinswap ever unless you are trying to destroy it completely Sad

you may not be aware of this but on Cryptopia they have a policy that coins that is hard fork or has coinswap gets delisted, and there are NO bitshares/steem tokens or clonecoins on Cryptopia or Tradesatoshi, so even if someone were to pay to relist it, highly unlike that sloth as a bts or a steem token or clones of them would be able to added there.  So lets not lose the only markets on what has a been a good place for slothcoin, by making a it a coinswap to a token that will never see the light of day on any exchange.

and sloth keep it strengths of being decentralized and a PoW coin with its own blockchain means even if mining stops, it can still be resumed by anyone later with just a cpu or gpu.
This is not possible if it becomes a token on a centralized distributed network like BTS or STEEM or staking only coin. also you might say hey bts has openledger decentralized exchange, but it is dead platform, hardly anyone uses them, and its too complicated for newbies, so thats no good for sloth.

if you really need a reason to create a token, then make it a giveaway for slothcoin holders with its own name (slothies, slothshares ?). but leave the slothcoin we have alone and allow others to be able discover it and learn mining with it now and years from now.

Okay you make a very strong point @digit, thank you for your feedback, I do appreciate it. And it is after all a community effort.

The reason was that the Slothcoin blockchain seemed to have come to an end, but apparantly all the extra attention, at Steem for instance, seemed to get new attention for the little Sloth. And there are enough nodes that keep ik going and reachable for others.

If there is any good argument against it, like you have given, than we leave it to be.

Although I think Bitshares is a good platform, just like Steem and I disagree with you about it being centralized, but that is not really the issue here. Most important is that the Slothcoin community agrees on what is best to do.

The only reason for a token would have been that the blockchain of Slothcoin was about to come to a stop.

As long as it moves on like this it is okay and you are right, it can always be restarted...

Hi Slothy fans,

Currently Slothcoin is hot, even though it seems the network lost the two permanent nodes. It looks like the idea of doing a Swap to a Bitshares User Issued Asset realy was received well.

At the moment of writing Slothcoin has 365 MH in solo mining power going.

Yet, we need nodes that are able to support the Slothcoin network 24/7 as long as possible. Publishing the IP and port here would be a great help. Or at Steem where the latest news is posted:

https://steemit.com/slothcoin/@oaldamster/slotcoin-being-mined-hard-at-365-mega-hashes

If there are still full nodes 24/7 for Slothcoin operational that were hardcoded, please reply here to alert me or at Steem.

A big thank you to the Slothie community. It seems that good things do take time, the Sloth way...  Wink

How to safe a Sloth(coin)
by
oldambtster
on 14/06/2017, 16:07:28 UTC
Hi dear fellow Slothy.

It has been a while and much has happened since all peers moved on to Slothcoin version 1.3.1.3. There have been quite a few challenges to keep our little Sloth going. But so far the Slothies {like Trekkies for Star Trek fans} community managed to keep the original creation of Dev Thimo going. The community went on with version 1.3.1.3 and it all seemed to go well.

Slothcoin has a faucet/blockexplorer at Cryptoguru: http://cryptoguru.tk/Faucet/index.php?Currency=SLOTH and recently SLOTH got added to another exchange called TradeSatoshi: https://tradesatoshi.com/Exchange?market=SLOTH_BTC And it was already present at Cryptopia: https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/Exchange/?market=SLOTH_LTC

574997, that is the block Slothcoin is currently at. It has come a long way since the 300K fork.

Unfortunately Slothcoin lost its two perminent nodes recently. So, some of the community have stepped up to keep the Sloth going. Also there were some issues with what could be seen as Blockchain split attacks. The Slothies managed to counter also.

But, we are now getting at a crossroad. Move on like this, do a hardfork, or... Swap to a different blockchain? This way current SLOTH owners will be offered a conversion to an Asset on another blokchain. Probably at Bitshares as a User Issued Asset.

About this subject I have written a post at the Social Media Platform Steem (blockchain blogging): https://steemit.com/slothcoin/@oaldamster/how-to-save-a-sloth Your feedback is welcome there.

This is to inform you, fellow Slothy, that things are still moving, true to the nature of our beloved creature: the Sloth.

Have a great one!

Today I noticed a real classic version 1.2.1 of Slothcoin in the network. Better update that one before it is too late.  Wink

The latest version of Slothcoin, v1.3.1b3, can be downloaded here:
http://slick.cf/coin/sloth/download/

Keep the wallet and the .conf file if you do, of course, but it might be needed to delete the old blockchain files and then let it get up to date again. Will take a while, but enough peers in the network to make it update fast.

Sloth all the way!
