I would like to bump this because I am in the same situation. I bought my eos tokens on an exchange. Do I have to have move everyone of them I own on to MEW during the registration process in order for them not to be frozen or can I leave some on the exchange?

If I have to have them all on MEW during  the registration process would it be possible for me to put them back on the exchange and not have them become frozen june 1st or do they all have to be on MEW when june 1st rolls around?

Hey guys I am still confused on what to do to get both coins. I have all my bitcoins on my electrum desktop wallet. However someone says that does not support BCC.

Is a desktop wallet considered a hardware wallet? If I cannot get my hands on a  Trezor or Ledger Nano S hardware wallet in time for the fork, Should I take everything off electrum and put it on a paper wallet?

I would like to buy bitcoin with USD. I am trying to find a place to do it where I can buy it as close to market value as possible. Coinbase seems fair, but they want so much identification it almost seems sketchy

Is this much identification needed with stock and forex brokers?

With regards to traders who trade daily on gdax kraken bitfinex poloniex, are they all photo identified? If yes wouldn't they be concerned about another Mt.Gox type scenario.

I know there are other options to buy bitcoin like paxful/ wall of coins / local bitcoins - However depending on the amount of USD you want to convert, private sellers may require photo id as well.  Why would I want some random person selling me bitcoin over the internet to have my home address birthday and photo id. Seriously.

Id love to learn what members of this board are doing to convert USD to BTC

Thank you sir, this explains it. Now I just wish I was a computer programmer so I could weigh this crypto with another similar crypto and make an educated decision. I think that is the big disadvantage I have right now trading this stuff. I don't understand the fundamentals behind it. It almost seems like trading alt coins are like trading shares of a company verses  FX trading.

Thanks for starting this thread. As a novice investor i am still trying to grasp how this will affect my portfolio. Is it recommended to convert all bitcoin into fiat before this event or convert into ether or ltc or some other alt coin, or put all your bitcoin into a paper wallet?

Is it possible that bitcoin will have no value after this and everything in my paper wallet will be worthless anyways.

I would like to end this thread and inform everyone my order was fulfilled by this company. I am not going to use them again simply because they asked me for things I was lead to believe I would not have to provide to fulfill the transaction. It was also very big scare.

Honestly I do not think my order would have been fulfilled if another member on this forum had not contacted wall of coins for me. His clout must have helped

I think from now on I am going to BTMs and face to face for cash transactions, maybe try local bit coins.
