OFFICIAL NOTICE: Whoever sold 12 CGA for 2500 satoshis is officially banned for life. Banned from mining, buying, selling or even thinking about CGA ever again. I've heard of weak hands before but this takes the cake. On a related note, I'm in the market for a couple thousand more CGA. PM me.
Haha awesome, where is trading going on anyway now? Ima buy some more too if people sell them for that, I even remember some dude who sold 28 CGA's for 2.8 BTC

Btw great update! Can't wait for tf2honeybadger's ideas too Smiley

Anyone know why CGA is not appearing on coinmarketcap.com any more?
It is when you look at all coins instead of top 100, it is number 151 at time of writing

The thread is pretty long. Anybody cares to tell me what makes this coin so good, besides the unknown scarcity?

Integration with a ground breaking MMORPG? Possibly not as susceptible to ASIC? Can be mined for generations to come? Is not just another pump and dump? No IPO involved? Active devs? No premine (ok so there was 8 CGA premine but they are all in the hands of the community)? Did I mention active devs??
I agree with all of the above! Especially active devs, that's why I hold the coin for longterm anyway. Looking forward to CGA's bright future

DAT premine though Shocked

In case you all missed it: https://twitter.com/CGAnomaly/statuses/452850473993641984

According to Swaphole.com (and has been confirmed to be legit trades):
Volume last 24h: 11,255.21261789 CGA / 22.82868233 BTC

Too bad swaphole API is yet to be set up... or this info would of made us in the top 10 on coinmarketcap  Wink
Wow cool:) I didn't even know that there were so many people on swap hole, might switch over to it now

Someone had a sell order of 350 CGA's at 0.0019 and I just couldn't resist.. lol, well we'll see what happens, i have faith in the developers Cheesy we should try some marketing stuff to get off of this dramatic price again, maybe make some kind of a kickstarter project website for CGA where we can donate to the subjects we want to help with or something? Like doge did with nascar Tongue

I wish I saw that!!!  Lucky buy mate!!
haha yeah:p on my way to 1000 cga now too lol, unintentional though haha, ill donate some of it to good projects

I think we said this before, we will be doing a "community pot" in the near future for things like android wallet, blog features, giveaways, nascar (lol), votes for exchanges, and many more. We are going to do 1 or 2 more "big" updates to help the coin stabilize (I made another goof in the reward algo but it isn't to serious), once this is all sorted out and we have our new features in place expect to see a big marketing push Wink so hold on to those coins!
Ahh great man! looking forward to it! +1

rumour has it dev working on a secret project for cga
funny, it's almost like I said that in the trollbox earlier today!
Yes, I am working on a secret project for CGA. If it's successful, I anticipate that most coin developers will start using my code and include it in their coins as well. The project has to do with a method for killing off a fork in an entire coin network and making a network a great deal more secure. It's a very powerful tool, so I will be extremely careful about what coin developers get to use the code. More details to come if it works out. just remember though, buy CGA while it's still at this low, because this kind of stuff will make the price go crazy high Wink

when I saw the AUR fail today with the forks and 51% attacks, I thought about how I could have prevented that or fixed it with my work. Just to give you an idea of what this could be capable of.... Smiley
:O good luck man, this would be amazing news not only for cga but for every crypto coin out there! really the reason why I like cga is because of you and s4w3d0ff, you guys do great work with the coin keep it up:)

is changing algo from scrypt still on the table? my vote goes to x11 like darkcoin..asic and multipool resistant, cooler video cards and lower electric bills.

Probably not... The way I see it is as the scrypt ASIC start to become more and more available CGA will become more and more valuable (due to more hash power = higher difficulty = less CGA per block). So we almost welcome ASIC because it will only help CGA become more elusive.

Any consideration to put a smaller cap on the coin?  Roll Eyes

What for? You wont see more then 16 Million in your lifetime. It will take a minimum of 50,000 years to mine all 10 Billion. I don't see an issue. Wink

I've raised this question a few times, this is exactly why I think it is an issue.

Practically the first thing anyone asks when looking at a new coin is "What is the total number possible?"  In the case of CGA the answer is "10 billion".  By the time you have gone on to explain why it doesn't matter and because of the algorithm really there are only going to be a few million they have glazed over and moved onto the next coin.  Obviously that doesn't apply to the wise people who are already part of the community, but I think it does to the man on the crypto street.

If, to all intents and purposes, there can't be more than a few tens of millions then why not set the limit at say 40-50 million?  I personally think it would do a lot to help people realise it really is a rare coin.

+1 I had to explain this several times in the troll box and everyone lost attention hahah:p

Try mediafire or something of the sorts, thank you.
I would appreciate it if you could share it, it doesn't work for me on my mac so i have my wallet on a windows

Ok you two....Stop speaking Korean!!!

I don't understand a damn thing...However, would you both kindly look at this post for a possible KGW-like solution?

 Grin

To be honest the difficulty is more of less random. Even with a stable network hash rate you could find 2 blocks back to back in under 10 secs if very lucky. Since the re-target rate is so short the diff will make big jumps. The diff changes due to the time between blocks. So while one block was solved in 1 min and the next in 10 sec then the diff will do significant jumps. Where are you seeing the nethashrate being around 300Mhash? I haven't seen it go above 200Mhash in the last week or so.
Now that I think about it longer, it may have been that I saw a network hash rate of 210 or 220Mh/s with the pool doing over 25Mh/s.

So you are confirming that the diff calculation is very sensitive to the last block finding time, which is a random process of luck, so that as a result the diff will jump around and the block finding time might increase or decrease, but since the max decrease is 40 sec below designed (40 sec) while the maximum increase is extremely large (minutes or hours), the result of jumping diff is a much higher average block finding time, since (for example) at a standard diff of 3 a block may suddenly be found after 5 seconds so in 1/8 of designed time, which could lead the re-target algorithm to simply (erroneously) multiply the diff by 8 in an attempt to get the next block find time 8 times 5s.
However, since the diff of 3 was actually giving an avg 40s block finding time and it was luck that a block was found after 5s, the new diff of 3x8 = 24 will result in an average block finding time of 8x40s = 5 min 20s. Hence, the upward correction of diff should be dampened to avoid these overshoots, since a higher diff causes much more time increase than lower diffs causes time decrease.
Since a switching pool that turns on and off on a per-block basis cannot be prevented with a diff that is calculated before the block starts, there is no reason to make a very aggressive "attack" (increase) of diff that will just hurt all steady miners by a much higher block finding time. So, it is better to dampen the diff to respond reasonable fast to sudden hash rate changes (within a couple retargets) but there is no need to re-target to a completely new value every time. For example, the diff could be limited to change no more than doubling or halving during retarget, which will still allow a very large change in a few steps, but not the large jumps we have seen. If the concern is to quickly recover from a major drop in network hash rate, then the re-target algorithm could make an exception for a long time since last block found to re-target fresh immediately, while when block are found regularly to use a more smooth re-target. Reducing jumps will allow the avg block find time to be closed to the designed 40s time.

That is what Kimotos Gravity Well did/does... but have yet to figure out a better solution.
+1 for bringing that up! I have no idea what it says however lol:p

In my opinion the Twitter account of Crypto Anomaly could be better. You now have two names - sawed-off and crypto anomaly which creates confusion among potential investors. Remember that vertcoin went to 30k followers on Twitter, so it really is a import factor for the marketing of crypto-currencies. Maybe you should brighten it up a little when you implement the new Logo?
