This is worse than many people think.

There will be blacklist of "non-compliant" entities. So moving company outside of EU won't work.
If actors like coinbase,kraken and binance want to keep their SEPA gateways, they'll have to comply.

This is an attempt to convert cryptocurrency system into Banking like system.

At this moment there's no such regulation in draft but i can imagine that the next regulation -  after 12 months, will be prohibiton to exchanges in EU from accepting any kind of transfers from unhosted wallets.
If you don't comply you'll be kicked out of system and you'll never be able to cash out these funds in EU.

After i ran electrum again few hours later, the channel opening transaction was confirmed.

Are you sure about that? Double click on that channel, copy the funding outpoint and look it up in any block explorer. It looks as if the funding transaction has never been broadcast. Also, if Electrum trampoline knew about this channel, there would be a valid channel id.

When i do that i receive information "funding transaction not found".

However see my transaction history;

Hi,

I recently tried to use lightning network. I created new channel then i think i left electrum before channel open transaction confirmed.

After i ran electrum again few hours later, the channel opening transaction was confirmed.
However the channel state is "reestablishing" for long time now

I tried to use force close channel but i get following error:

Any ideas what can be done to release the funds or make the channel working?

Re: Recovering 33 character private key from legacy blockchain.info wallet

When interacting with BC.info user interface - the key shows up in "Imported Addresses" and while clicking on "Show private key" on blockchain.info it displays "Unsupported Private Key".
The 33 character private key from 2013 backup is the same as from 2020 backup.
try decoding it with base58check (base-58 encoding with a checksum) and see if it is a valid encoding and what the result is.

Thanks @pooya87, i will try it in next week when i have some more free time Smiley Finally a hint that makes some sense.

Not deseperate to recover but just very interested to see what is it and how it ended up in blockchain.info.

Yes, i have tried doing using blockchain import tool.

Doesn't recognise the file.

Although the last transaction i remember on the wallet is from 2013, it could have been created even earlier. (2011-2013)

What file name did you use when dropping the file? I know blockchain can behave weird if you dont name the textfile exactly wallet.aes.json

/KX

I made multiple tries. wallet.aes.json and so on.
I also managed to access mine blockchain.info wallet just now and download it + decrypt it. The private keys matches. So the key that is problematic was somehow imported into blockchain.info and it was considered it valid at some point. Same private key is present in JSON unencrypted blob in 2020. Some sort of hint is, that the wallet was used around 2013.

It's been a long time since I've looked at a wallet.aes.json file, but 33 characters doesn't seem long enough to me.  Hopefully, I'm wrong.  Have you tried this yet?

https://github.com/blockchain/my-wallet-backup-decryption-tool

Yes i have tried it after downloading encrypted wallet from blockchain.info and using this tool, to see what blockchain.info stores in it's JSON blob.
Such test, completely overrules scenario where backup file was somehow modified/had its integrity violated. The exact same private is being returned by blockchain now in JSON, after downloading wallet using btcrecovery python tools in 2020. This results in exactly same weird 33 characters private key.

When interacting with BC.info user interface - the key shows up in "Imported Addresses" and while clicking on "Show private key" on blockchain.info it displays "Unsupported Private Key".

So TLDR: I managed to access blockchain wallet using web interface and their "GUID" login, but i cannot make any transactions or export private key - as it shows up as invalid/unsupported one. The 33 character private key from 2013 backup is the same as from 2020 backup.   Scenario where backup is corrupted is excluded i think. Therefore the key at some point was considered valid by blockchain if it end up being in wallet backup.

If someone manages to provide a good hint, i'll make sure you get paid.  Smiley

Therefore some legacy privkey format could have been used.

- My note on the backup says "wallet for bitcoin-qt client", not sure if this is true. It doesnt look fit for bitcoin-qt at all.
Yes, that looks like a wallet.aes.json file from blockchain.info.

This thread have the info of old and new private key types: [overview] Recover Bitcoin from any old storage format]
But there's nothing about a 33-character prv key.

Have you tried to drag-n-drop it to their import wallet page (https://login.blockchain.com/wallet/import-wallet)?
Said, it supports blockchain.info wallet files.

Hi guys

I'm totally stuck trying to recover very old wallet from blockchain.info (likely V1). I've searched entire web using keywords coming from json file but no luck.
Perhaps some expert developer who is aware of security algos can advise me on this case.

- I got password to the wallet but no email access, therefore this file is all what i have.
- If "priv" field is encoded, i can try to decode it with the password - but i need to be aware of tech specification for this "priv" field.
- Wallet is from 2013.
- My note on the backup says "wallet for bitcoin-qt client", not sure if this is true. It doesnt look fit for bitcoin-qt at all.

Problem is that i cannot restore or extract the private key from this file.. it's very weird, i heard it's base58 + some custom implementation.
This is the wallet file and i have no total clue how to decode this. The private key is very weird, it's just 33 characters. Is it even valid?
The "addr" points to correct BTC address, therefore is fully valid.

Code:
{
"guid" : "020XXXX-XXX-8fXX-bc6c-XXXXX17XX",
"sharedKey" : "XXXXXX-69XX2-157f-XXX4-XXXXXX083",
"options" :
{
"pbkdf2_iterations":10,
"fee_policy":0,
"html5_notifications":false,
"logout_time":600000,
"tx_display":0,
"always_keep_local_backup":false,
"transactions_per_page":30,
"additional_seeds":[]
},
"keys" :
[
{"addr":"1MHJxxxxxxxxxxxxxxYMwR","priv":"uNKxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxBfM"} (33 characters private key)

]
}

{"addr":"1MHJxxxxxxxxxxxxxxYMwR", (34 characters valid address) "priv":"uNKxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxBfM"} (33 characters private key)

Is anyone aware what is "priv" key format for this wallet?

The most interesting thing is that there's no information about anyone arrested with the case.
Means the author is probably still here?

Maybe they're much more interested in the people who used the service than the people hosting it. It looks like they might have many of the details of the transactions that took place there. Stopping the service and draining it of info will have more of an impact but it is interesting how there's no mention of charges anywhere, or any names.

They don't release names, it's not the US. I bet they owners will get be investigated and will have to pay taxes on their earnings (if they aren't involved in criminal activities).

I'm not talking about releasing names. I know that they dont.

Usually, however, there's information when there was anyone arrested - with no names. Just read interpol announcements.

Looks like the certificate expired yesterday.
Thank you - certificate has been renewed.

In Chipmixer's case, i can only assume it's probably just the task of renewing the certificate that hasn't been automated.
Yes, it is manual.

fucking scammers. 2 days ago I sent them 150 dollars - I received 3 keys for 45$, and one key was invalid, 100 dollars were stolen from me, I wrote them to the EMAIL - they do not answer. SCAMMERS! DO NOT WORK WITH THEM TO ANYONE
Please contact us again by e-mail and provide "invalid" key.

in this case probably you received 2 private keys and 1 voucher code
We did not run out of chips lately.

if it's a private key then it should come in pair with its bitcoin address (at step 3 or signed receipt)
can you check that address on block explorer?
if it is indeed unfunded (never funded) then there was a glitch on ChipMixer system
and I'm pretty sure ChipMixer will rectify it either by funding or replacing it, just have to be patient Cool
If it was never funded then signed receipt would be easy proof.

Why dont you purchase commercial certificate for $40 that stays for a year instead of deadling with let's encrypt renewals?

I wouldnt trust this mixer.
If they have problem with Invalid certificate error for so long, then they're not serious with security and privacy at all.

Sorry but expired certificate is pure sign of amatorship or abandoned ship.

Does this bot know how to short? Like on bitfinex?
Or is it totally unprepared to bear market? Like 99% of bots?
I think 100% of bots "know" what you know and what you tell them to do. So if you know how and when to short I might be interested as well.
Gunbot is coded to trade in bullish, bearish and sideway trends. In the picture below you can see Gunbot performing Reversal Trading during a downtrend to accumulate quote rather than base

About margin trading, instead, you can use short/long with TradingView plugin, building your own strategy and having Gunbot to execute it.
Hope it helped.
Gun

From what i understand reversal trading is buying more when price goes down.. this is totally not what i mean.
You can short on touch of EMA's 20/50/200 with stop loss above - just an example.

Can bot do it? Not sell, but short using margin. Selling previously purchased asset isn't shorting.

They havve to be earlier than 04.2013. So like 2013,2012,2011 is fine.
Escrow for this? You kidding?
Empty address with good history is max $50.
I send cash in front first, so if you have any old address with history just contact me. 0% risk.

At least how many transactions need to be in the address? or total of bitcoin amount transacted?
what defines as good history for this case? would you accept compromised addresses? Cheesy
there are some old address-privkey pairs spread all over the forum and internet,
I'll sell you these if you haven't found them yourself Tongue

10+ btc received/sent < 2013.
No public addresses, as i replied - had people trying to sell me these. I do checkups.

Maybe they just need it for credibility so somebody will take them seriously with some project they can perform. Kind of like people lying on a resume. Sure it's dishonest, but as long as they can fulfill the job it is victim-less.

+1 for using the brain, unlike few others here

This way, but not exactly. Overall assumption is correct.

Because the way i utilize addresses related to my business would be useless. simple.

I don't even know what you are trying to say with that sentence. So no, it is not simple lol.

Do you feel the way your "business" use the addresses that you want to buy, is "useless" for us to know?

It shouldn't be when people voice concerns that you may be attempting to pull off a scam. Then you should share your intentions, to clear up suspicions.

In any case, this is my bitcoin address for payment:

1LXZzPTfRZNBGtndbPxibzSwoVjZRGnGqi

and here is what you are buying:

pub: 1EHNa6Q4Jz2uvNExL497mE43ikXhwF6kZm

priv: 5HpHagT65TZzG1PH3CSu63k8DbpvD8s5ip4nEB3kEsreAnchuDf

I'll settle for 0.002 bitcoin, after all, i did spend a whole 60 seconds on this detective work.

I dont need public addresses, had already some people trying sell me these.

I think what concerns most people in this thread is, why do i want to buy old empty addresses.
There's no secret money-making schema or anything like this, sorry to dissapoint you.  Smiley
Answer is: i need to prove to be bitcoin user in early ages in one of cases i'm working on. That's it, the whole mystery.

And let me just highlight:

Answer is: i need to prove to be bitcoin user in early ages in one of cases i'm working on. That's it, the whole mystery.

So, why do you need to prove your an early user of Bitcoin?

I cannot think of anything other than making a false claim to swindle money out of someone. So if this is not the case, then please elaborate on what you need it a 'legacy' address for?

There are plenty of exposed addresses you can find privkey for too. Problem is (for you) they are easily identified as compromised, i guess.

As you just chose to ignore above i for one am hoping Mr. TradeFortress takes up that bet. I truly wonder what lie you could tell that would legitimize your request.

Oh! So you suddenly consider to think that there might be a legitimate reason to buy old bitcoin address!  Smiley
What a change of mind. You just mark it with a "lie" keyword.

Anyway this is funny and i dont know why i'm even continuing this conversation. Must be bored on weekend.
