Anybody have problems with their AntMiner Just shutting itself off Randomly ??
sounds like a faulty or underpowered psu. Is your ant overclocked? and what is your psu that you are using for it?
My First Unit was a 600 Watt one ...
my Any is not Over clocked at all
The new Power Supply is a Coolmax ZU-700B 700 Watt
Have you tried putting a +5v load on it? I have that PSU (coolmax zu-700b) and it requires a +5v load to stay running. I connected an old CDROM drive to mine and it runs 24/7 just fine.
Connected a CDROM drive to it and comes up mines for like 5 minutes and still shuts itself off ... I took the power supply from a Scrypt mining box we upgraded and it ran fine in there , Unless the ANT is defective then im like not so sure about shipping to China .
It sure sounds like a PSU problem. In the Setup & Troubleshoot guide, scroll down to the Troubleshooting section and follow the steps in bullet point 3 to make sure the PSU is setup/connected correctly and to test each blade individually. If each blade runs fine by itself then it's a PSU issue according to the guide. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=344970.msg3696062#msg3696062
Well ... So i decided last night to try something and it seems to work at least for the last 12 hours , I hooked a mother board up to the power supply also .. and put it in bios , Now its staying on .. Weird but hopefully this works long term !
Did you not do the jump wire trick?
I did indeed try the trick this power supply did not seem to like that , So i this way it works and the motherboard uses very little power !

Out of pure curiosity, where on earth did you find 147 GB hard drives? That's not a size I've ever heard of.
Seriously ? That is pretty common with sas drives also just like all fast drives above 10,000 RPM they are usually smaller drives for better disk i/o and overall performance .
You didn't mention SCSI specifically so I assumed otherwise. Thanks for clarifying, that certainly makes more sense.
Yea no problem .. Its a Option for people who want faster drives ... however i have a bit of these drives so for the cheaper servers they are included in the base price.
And yes those sizes started with scsi and moved into Sas disks

I just wanted to stop in here and let everyone know that my company now accepts bitcoins for all VPS , Shared Hosting , and dedicated Server accounts
We have Dedicated servers Starting @ $89 Usd All servers have at least Raid 1 and are customizable
We Currently have OpenVZ Vps's and will be adding a XEN node this week .
This is what SealsClub uses for their Bitcoin Poker. I had done some research on this poker module for an LTC poker Room.
Would work great with the following caveats...
--- it does require dedicated windows server which could get pricey for monthly hosting, --- you need some coding on the front end to register users and convert LTC to poker chips.
Good luck!
Servers are not a problem ... WINDOWS is a Huge problem in a server environment,
