I think if this gets on a couple more exchanges, it will do really well.  Last few trades on cryptoaltex running at almost 4BTC per 365. That's still a bargain, but not as much as it was 24 hours ago!  The potential is definitely there...

That doesn't matter so much anymore. LeaseRig is now checking for pools every minute and adjusting them back in case they were changed off the site. Figured it is pointless to fight this, because we were always hit by the issue of cgminer not being able to save pools by priority and certain % of providers still not having fully correct configuration with their cgminers.

This is fantastic news!  Saves all the saving config files and other messy stuff. Fantastico.

In other news, looks like rig prices are on the rise.

I am running with cgminer with the following settings on my Sapphire 280x dual-x:

"intensity" : "13",
"thread-concurrency" : "8192",
"lookup-gap" : "0",
"worksize" : "256",
"gpu-engine" : "1050",
"gpu-fan" : "0-85",
"gpu-memclock" : "1600",
"gpu-powertune" : "20",
"temp-cutoff" : "85",
"temp-overheat" : "83",
"temp-target" : "70",

"auto-fan" : true,
"auto-gpu" : true,
"expiry" : "120",
"failover-only" : true,
"gpu-threads" : "2",
"log" : "5",
"queue" : "4",
"scan-time" : "40",
"temp-hysteresis" : "3",
"no-submit-stale" : true,

I am not getting any 'accepts' or 'rejects'.But the miner detects new blocks but no accepts or rejects.Hashing speed is fine too.What should I do?

I use dual-x 280x's. Firstly ensure you're using the keccak (SHA3) version of cgminer.

Drop your worksize to 64, drop your memclock to 150 below your gpu-engine (as low as a 280x will allow you to drop it - saves power and heat, negligible drop in performance), and drop your intensity to 9 (way less stales). And obviously use keccak. Something like :

--keccak -I 9 -w 64 --thread-concurrency 8192 --lookup-gap 2 --gpu-engine 800-1050 --gpu-memclock 900 --auto-fan --auto-gpu

The coin is 2 days old, the last thing it needs is an exchange right now so whales can pump and dump it to worthless oblivion.

It already has an exchange where this is happening - if/when it gets listed on another exchange, it will sync more or less with the price of the current exchange.

Personally, I think it may as well be at a larger exchange soon, where it has a chance of gathering a bit more interest instead of dying a quick death.

But that's just my opinion.

Block Finders gets bonus - 25% of pool fee
only On http://365.blessedpool.com.

... which i great if you're got a massive farm at your disposal (thus likely to find blocks) but terrible if, like most of us, you're a small miner with almost 0% chance of finding a block, and getting 25% of your reward given to some dude with a mining farm at his disposal.

What you're doing in effect is increasing the variability for small miners (which is what they're trying to avoid by joining a larger pool in the first place).

Just an observation Smiley

You should hurry with this + a bigger exchange ... else it will be dead in a few days.

+1, if you want it to survive. It's currently selling around 7btc on that tiny exchange, which is ridiculous given only one coin is minted per day.

I've grabbed some at that price, I'd say its a solid investment for that cost...

Perhaps this is coming in v4 of the coin - SHA256 compatibility. Smiley

No.

Stupid question for everyone:

Can I use an Antminer U1 to mine this or no?

keccak gives less than half the hashrate of scrypt. Even when optimised.

Help a neubie.

why I have only 400Mhs with 1x5970 2x5870?
I'm usin cgminer keccak 3.7.2/3 and ./cgminer --keccak.
It's correct?

Hey dev! Good job letting us all know the problem.

They're probably running around with their hair on fire trying to figure out why the nodes aren't working, and scrambling to set up new nodes.  Which is why the 250 block no-reward is a great idea.

Careful, you were very close to using logic there instead of baseless complaining.

Leaserig - A renter's experience...
by
ozoner
on 07/03/2014, 12:39:45 UTC
Hi all.

I rent out my 2 rigs on leaserig most of the time. I am very much a "small player". I do this for a bit of fun, but I do like to think I provide value to my renters, when the rigs are leased. I understand how the leaserig system works. I think it's great.

Today I decided that I might rent a few other rigs and throw some hashpower at a few coins I wanted to get a piece of. I'm not particularly skilled or knowledgeable, but I figure what the hell... Why not.

I wanted to show you what a renter's experience looked like. Rig and renter's names withheld.

I leased 7 rigs for various amounts of time, varying from 2 hours to 36 hours. I sank about 0.1 BTC into the exercise, so I'm not losing heaps of money, but ultimately I'm putting "real" money down for services. During these 7 leases :

- One rig went offline for an hour. I noticed it before the owner did, and messaged him. reimbursed 1.5x time. Good result.

- One rig went offline for a shorter period of time. I noticed it before the owner. I messaged the owner. Awaiting response. Still down.

- One rig advertised at speed X was hashing rock solid at .05mhash less than it was rated at. Note - not fluctuating up and down and averaging at the advertised speed, but solid, reliably less than advertised. Messaged owner, who credited me with an extra hour and basically said I should expect the advertised speed + or - .05mhash. While I got reimbursed some, I think that's not right - it should at the very least average hashrate at the advertised rate. Same thing is going to happen to future renters...

- One rig was malfunctioning when switching pools (when the primary pool was dead). It didn't switch correctly to my backup pool when the main pool died, and, it stopped hashing for several hours. I noticed this before the owner did. PM'd owner who credited me with most of the downtime, acknowledged it was an issue with his rig, but then reminded me the leaserig service was in beta, and quoted me the "no responsibility will be taken for rig owners blah blah" from the leaserig website....  Nice service - NOT. It's still malfunctioning, and I still can't point it at the primary pool I want (this rig shows it as "down" when all my other leases are happily mining on it....). It's currently stuck on my backup pool, since I figure I might as well get something out of the lease....

- I'm happy to say the other 3 rigs performed flawlessly, couldn't fault them. And yes I will leave feedback as such when all my leases are finished.

And I still have several hours lease left on some of these rigs too - fingers crossed we're stable now...

Perhaps I'm an optimist, but I think that result is terrible. If I was a member of the public renting rigs for the first time, I can guarantee you I wouldn't be back after that experience!!  If we're renting out a rig and being PAID BTC for it, it's our responsibility as a rig provider to provide the best service possible. Reliable, as advertised, and if any issues happen make it right - usually credit the renter with time, BTC refund, or both. Preferably everyone should monitor their rigs - it shouldn't be up to the renter to make sure your rig is working properly.

I realise it's not possible (in my estimation) to provide a 100% reliable mining rig. It's the nature of the beast. You get as close as you can, then "make it right" for anything that breaks. I have credited time (always more than was lost) to several renters since I have been doing this. It's the right thing to do, and keeps customers happy with not only your own service, but the service provided by leaserig.

I strongly encourage everyone renting their rigs out to take this seriously, and understand that you have a responsibility to provide a good service to those paying you for it.... The viability of this service relies upon you doing the right thing.

Thanks for listening to my rant. Flame away if you must.

Beware of an issue with rig BlackM - when one pool fails, it will NOT always fail over to a backup pool. I rented it, and it sat there for several hours doing nothing when my primary pool failed. And yes, I had a valid and reliable backup pool defined.

Owner *acknowledges* this is an issue with the rig, and credited me (most of) my downtime, but then tells me "the leaserig service in in beta". Well yes, but no other rig behaves like this. To my mind, if you're offering a service that somebody pays for, you are responsible for fixing any problems which exist with your rig, not simply saying "service is in beta". And I say that as a rig provider too.

Renter beware.

WOW, WHAT A BUNCH OF CUNTS!!!!!

Make me stay up till 3am, with this scam.

I will never mine or buy this coin as long as I live, this coin deserves to die, and I hope my fellow miners will do as I do, switch back to a decent coin.

Go fuck your selves, cunts!

I'm sensing some negativity in your post. Can you please elaborate on your feelings a little?

Exactly what I was about to say. Rig owners currently make more mining on a multipool themselves instead of leasing their rigs!   Stupid prices from some people.

Perhaps I will lease some rigs myself.... Smiley

Wow, really low prices Smiley

aye, getting silly at this stage. Close to where you are better off mining multipools than leasing out.

Just noticed this rig switched to one of owners *after* i had deleted them all :| not cool.

When did this happen?  Happy to work through this, but honestly, PM is the place to do it, not in a feedback thread. Also since your email is different from your login name, I can't be sure even which lease you're talking about...

But regardless, let me know the details and I am happy to investigate. I'm not in the business of ripping anyone off - it's simply not worth it (and I'm not that kind of guy anyhow). At least give me a chance to make it right for goodness sake. My guarantee is 1.5X your downtime refunded, and I stand by that. You'll have to give me some details of when, and what pools you're talking about though.

By default, when you lease the rig you have to delete the owner's pools then add your own. I'm assuming you achieved this. The only way the owner's pools should get reinstated on the rig is when a) your lease expires, b) the rig reboots, and (possibly) c) the renter removes ALL their pools.  The config file is actually REWRITTEN when you remove the owner's pools, so it defaults back to your pool if there are any problems. It's specifically designed to not do what you claim happened.

Let's look at what might have happened :

Situation a) - not a problem because your lease would have expired by then. Not applicable.
Situation b) - both my rigs have been up constantly over the last few leases, not applicable.
Situation c) - Not sure if you did this??  If you missed removing one of my pools, it would default to my pool if your pool went down or was otherwise uncontactable for a period of time.

I keep a pretty close eye on them, and whenever I have checked it's been hashing away on the renter's pools happily.

Not quite sure what else I can add. Please PM me details (timeframes, time lost, your email address so I can look at your lease) and I'm happy to take it further.

Folks, I'd suggest picking up some zeit while it's selling cheap. I can't believe the current asking price is around 14-15 satoshi. Once the wallet issues are sorted and everything's back on track, that will look like peanuts in my opinion.

I picked up a couple of million. We'll see where it goes Smiley   Good luck all.
