Re: Top 100 coin BUT only on TWO exchanges?!

I don't know about you guys but sometimes I go through CMC and research every coin on the top 100. I did notice one the other day ranked 96 atm called MOAC (mother of all chains). Looks like they're sitting around $1 and are only traded on 2 exchanges.

IMO that's pretty impressive. Seems like a very interesting project that's focused on large scale commercial dapps with multi layer architecture. Anyone else heard of MOAC??
Only few coins can have this kind of good performance even if they are not listed on many exchanges.

Agreed. I have high hopes for MOAC

I am intrigued with MOAC because they have lots of support and adoption in china. i think they even came out with a book that details their use cases

Reminds me of the time when NEO had their ICO. Chinese projects have lots of potential imo

Re: The rise and fall of stablecoins

Stable coins are needed because of the huge volatility of the market. They are especially useful during the bear market, when many traders are shorting their coins.
When the market is stable anyway that is not a big benefit of them.

What are your thoughts on Ampleforth's elastic supply model for everyday use? https://www.ampleforth.org/

New everyday cryptocurrency???

So I've been really exploring stablecoins and stumbled upon one that's not really a stablecoin, but is meant to be a currency for everyday use.

This is how it works quoted from their website: "Tomorrow's money is issued directly to the people. Ampleforth inflates only in response to demand, and distributes directly and proportionally to holders. The system takes no profits from inflation. This prevents balances from being diluted, and aligns users with the network."

They're called Ampleforth and even backed by Pantera, True Ventures, and FBG Capital. Pretty stealth right now, but solid team from google and uber.

Would love your thoughts on their model (website - https://www.ampleforth.org/)

MOAC is a solid project that already has launched mainnet and recently the first dapp on the public blockchain. Forward momentum is a great sign to me

yup been holding for a while now. they have a webinar this sunday going over MOAC, their dapp, and announcements. https://www.eventbrite.com/e/webinar-introducing-moacs-tech-stars-tickets-52963874374

why MOAC? I still believe that eth will be better than this, but that doesn't mean that moac will be much worse, the scalability offered, so far is good, but no one can predict it too far

MOAC's been around since last year I believe. I think they're solving a valid problem with ethereum--scalability. I also believe they offer cross chain compatibility which is a huge plus

Have looked into moac for a bit and there's threads around talking about them. Looks like they're making a comeback  Cool

Re: A multi-layer blockchain to dethrone Ethereum?????

Today, many coins tried to kill ethereum. They tried to develop a much faster and better blockchain, but as far as I know, no company has yet succeeded in this. I think ethereal will be one of the first for a very long time.
OP was shilling for MOAC project and you should take it seriously. Remember about so many platforms have declared their intention to kill ethereum but they are failed to do that. As far as i know when you are seeing ethereum can't be beaten by them all and then does it make sense to see this one?

I think it does since they demonstrated the launch of their first dapp. I saw somewhere on their blog that the have proven 5000 TPS so far

MOAC is a solid project IMO. Saw their webinar and was pretty impressed with how easy it was to launch a dapp

The team have to hire a dedicated community manager and launch a marketing campaign to build a strong community. This coin is moving forward under the radar even they are busy to develop interesting features for this platform. Exchange support is not impressive and current volume is also very low as well.
it looks like they are kickstarting some marketing with their webinar coming up this sunday: https://medium.com/@moac_io/free-moac-webinar-scheduled-for-sunday-december-2nd-ecdb98ac8593

Re: Why do some people in crypto still wish the downfall of Bitcoin?

People behind other alt coins want BTC to fail so that they can replace it. This will ensure more profit for them with popularity of their alt coin.

Re: Gold & Silver are safe than bank deposits ??
by

on 20/06/2018, 03:58:49 UTC
This is a silly question...

We all know that gold, silver and other solid assets constantly increase in price with respect to time. It is smarter to invest in gold if you have a great amount of wealth compared to storing it in banks where inflation will eventually eat the value of it. It is more secure to invest in gold/silver, banks can go bankrupt or have anomalies by the cause of system failures.

Correct. They are safer than crypto but  what about the returns. The comparison OP did is based on just aspect which is not fair.

Yes, it will always affect the price. If majority sells in panic at loss, it will bring price even further down.
