Re: Bitmain promoting BitDeer is it scam or not?
by

Yes this is the hope.

As an update, I've earnt about 0.03 from my contract with them so far.

You can't withdraw less than 0.01 afaik unless they batch the last one or something so maybe that's a new scammy idea of theirs. We'll make sure they keep 0.008 each contract they buy so they have to buy 5 more to get everything out...

7 days passed, how much have you earned? good result?

I bought it just after the announcements.
I came to the end of a 30 day contract.

They create a pool account specifically, in hindsight, go with btc.com as the pool.

I got an average earning of about 0.0015btc/day in revenue. Having paid 0.038 about for a contract, after the 30 days it came to 0.0399 in revenue. I made a 0.008 loss because antpool only allow withdrawals per 0.01 btc. I'm going to try to use my workaround to getting the rest out but I'll see how it goes.

I contacted support about this long before the related contract was due. I had one of those 2TH/30D plans they gave for free, but it only made around BTC0.004 on Antpool if I'm not mistaken.

They said that the funds, even below the threshold, would be sent after the plan was completed. Lo and behold, the coins were in my wallet 2 days after the plan was done.

I reckon this would only happen if the amount is significant enough. I won't really count on 5000 satoshis making it into my wallet.

I'm willing to pay first.
Reason: I'm a bit short on a local purchase.

Market rates, plus Paypal fee, is preferred.

Re: What can I really 'do' with my bitcoin? (I can't sell it)
by
pandalion98
on 30/01/2017, 01:06:17 UTC
My friend introduced me to btc and I got a little bit of it to bet on some csgo matches. It was fun, but now I want to build my first gaming pc so I was looking for ways to sell my bitcoin.

However, sadly most sites required me to be either above 18 or wanted official government identification which I don't have.

So I was wondering, if you can buy something like amazon gift codes with bitcoin? I have enough for a nice quality power supply and it would be fun to spend it on amazon.
I can swap it for you. Escrow recommended.

Re: Are floppy disks safe to store wallets?
by
pandalion98
on 18/10/2016, 10:33:35 UTC
I was doing some cleaning on my room and I found some floppy disks, they are around 15 years old! from the Sony brand. I don't have a floppy disk device anymore on my computer, so I used an older computer because I was curious to see if they would still work.
To my surprise, they worked and all the files were accessible.

This made me think that, you could store some Bitcoin related stuff in floppy disks too? Obviously having backups in other places too.. but floppy disks may be yet another cheap way to store files. If I put my seed key in a txt (compressed in a 7z file with a pass) and my wallet.dat file on that floppy disk, it would have lasted for 15 years. I hope that if I do this, in the next 15 years when I find the floppy disks again, I will be rich Cheesy
The older the floppy, the more reliable it is. Floppy quality started to degrade seriously around early 90s.

If you're planning on storing it on a floppy, also make sure to save it on another media, such as an engraving on a dog tag. Don't trust anything that involves magnets (floppy) or electricity (flash drive). So far, we're not sure of data longevity on any digital medium, and numbers are simply speculation or based on accelerated/simulated aging.

I am buying the pokecoin small bit by bit. We must talk to the new dev team about this coin and what can be done. I'm not sure what makes a coin do well but I could imagine there should be some sort of pokemon site with pokecoin rewards or something. Pity the devs have no premine to help them.
Please devs reply.

Same here. I've been slowly buying up some coins. I've just sent maxamus a PM and simply asked how the initiative is going.

Underage nga po e. Sure ako na post ko na yun sa thread na ito.

Need to buy PHP4000 in Bitcoin ASAP.

Dasmariñas, Cavite if meetup.
Escrow required if non-meetup (e.g. Palawan Express, Smart Pera Padala, LBC, etc.)

Underage. Coins.ph po talaga sana.

Unless willing ka po to purchase for me Cheesy

Re: Do you use multiple Bitcoin Wallets to store your Bitcoins?
by
pandalion98
on 13/09/2016, 12:49:31 UTC
Hey guys,

I was wondering if you keep all your bitcoins in one wallet, or do you use multiple providers/accounts?

I am currently using 3 different wallets, it kinda feels safer not to store everything in once place...

Thoughts?

MC  Smiley

I have most of my BTC in a "warm" wallet where the private key is encrypted with a strong password, but is still on my computer. I rarely open it.
I have a hot wallet on Mycelium with about $15 BTC at a time for quick and small transactions.

Hi, all. I know that everyone here would have made some terrible decision about BTC. So I was wondering, what is the worst decision that you have ever made.

Personally, my worst decision was gambling 1.3 BTC in dice, just yesterday. Smiley
My worst decision so far is... none. I'm yet to make a horrible decision. Wish me luck! Smiley

Nice article. I like the tongue-in-cheek-ness of it, but I do have a question.

If you are going to die soon, you should definitely not own bitcoin. Because bitcoin is the currency of the future.
Why not? I mean, if one is going to doe soon, I think having bitcoin is the way to go so that their next of kin would be introduced to bitcoin (via last will & testament or something)

Do you think this is connected to a forum breach?

A few days ago, someone tried to use the data from the forum breach to try extract money from me. The guy was particularly unintelligent and made some pretty cringe-worthy mistakes, which probably means the data from the forum breach has just reached a wide circulation.  (I'm guessing)
Here's the explanation behind the cringiness of it (it's for emails, but this is also applicable)

http://security.stackexchange.com/q/96121/70515

tl;dr Only the gullible reads the message. They're the kind of people that the scammers would try to exploit. This effectively creates a sort of low-pass filter.

Re: I'd like to get some bitcoins. Is now a good time to do so?
by

I'm planning on getting a fraction of a bitcoin. Maybe about 1/4 or 1/8 BTC just to fill my wallet with something. Is now a good time to do so?
For me , anytime you buy is the best time to buy . Because , bitcoin will be rise up soon.
Indeed , you must be patient to do this and not hoping for short-term because you don't know when the price is rise up.
And , it's up to you for buy this bitcoin but keep in mind don't felt regret it after you buy it.
People always say "bitcoin will rise up soon", but its price pretty much stays the same almost all the time.

Historically, it took years.
That is just a bullshit sentences is just out of their mouth because too many people are saying about that just for reaching their post count. uncertainty the price will happen a big rising if their period is just for a short period until halving, that is the fact thing is I can take from the past experienced about that.
Word.

Re: Bank or Bitcoin Wallet?
by
pandalion98
on 12/09/2016, 14:18:42 UTC
I'm still choosing the bank because the bank is just way better to be honest, its safer and has no risks at all, if you are investing into a wallet it can go wrong because of the fact that it stays a investment.
The bitcoin can go down and than you will lose money for sure.
While I agree that banks are better, "better" is just a subjective word.

For instance, I know a person that thinks bitcoin is better since transactions are fast and irreversible. I know another person that thinks the irreversibility of bitcoin is its weak point, hence making banks safer.
Basically, it depends on a person's use case. If you buy raw fish, it's better to use a plastic bag than a paper bag.
