Re: Share Authority for Novacadian
by

I want to give authority to Novacadian to hand out up to 12 shares per round to help Steemit or save it from corruption.

Novacadian agreed to do this. If Novacadian becomes corrupt and starts giving away shares for no reason, which I do not expect at all, then Novacadian would lose the share authority. Any objections?

No objection, Nova is a cool guy and I trust him 100%

I fully support Novacadian!  Excellent choice.

Re: Share authority for CTYA, develCuy and Markm

To give people more incentive to do stuff, I want to give authority to CTYA, develCuy, and Markm to hand out up to 12 shares each. They would each have the authority to hand out shares for people who helped their fields, without having to specifically ask for permission on the thread. This means people who do something could get paid faster, without the extra time and thread clutter of asking for each bounty or payment on the thread.

CTYA could hand out up to 12 shares per round to people who help get an exchange; develCuy could hand out up to 12 shares per round to people who help with either Steemit or coding devcoin. Markm could hand out up to 12 shares per round to people who help with either his exchange or Open Transactions.

Also CTYA would get 20 shares per round into an account, which he would convert to popular cryptocoins by some means like Markm's exchange, to offer to exchanges in return for listing devcoin. Basically, once he had crypto saved up from that account, he'd send another message to exchanges who didn't outright reject devcoin telling them there's now an extra payment for listing devcoin.

They've all agreed to do this. If anyone becomes corrupt and starts giving away shares for no reason, which I do not expect at all, then that person would lose their share authority. Any objections?

No objections at all!  This is a really great incentive and good idea.

To start, maybe the blogs could be on Steemit, expanding what develCuy is doing. Eventually it would probably be best to make our own blog site, so people would know that everything on the domain would be open source.

This is a nice a idea, but I was thinking if we should take our content from devtome and paste it on steemit or if there's a way to piggback on it from devtome. How does this work?

Writers would post wherever they prefer. In the beginning, they would manually copy and paste it over to the other platform. Copying is a lot faster than writing so this is good enough to start. In the future, an administrator would use a script to copy over everything, maybe once a month.

Great! Thanks Unthinkingbit! I think I'm gonna begin copy mine very soon!

I've been cross posting some of my articles from Devtome to Steemit and as long as you insert a link to the original article and a link to creative commons license you should have no issues.  Steemit has a bot actively looking for plagiarism and if you forget to place a link it can leave a comment on your post insinuating it may be plagiarized.  Just a heads up.

Hello again after a very long time.

I finally found my way back here, it has been a couple of years and I am really sorry I haven't been around, we had some pretty serious family stuff going on. I now have to set everything back up again.

I don't know if anyone will remember me, I was melodiem. I got an email from Nova chasing up Devtome admins (thanks Nova, I needed a kick) and I have managed to sign back into devtome and deleted the devcoin address my coins were going to. (hoping the thief gets some use out of them and karma slaps him around a bit!) I had lots of trouble getting back into this forum (the devcoin.org forum doesnt seem to be up?) but a new username seems to have fixed that  but now I have hit a snag.

In all the drama here my computer was stolen with my devcoin wallet on it so I am trying to setup a new one. I downloaded the windows one from devcoin.org but it wouldn't connect, it says no connection available so after uninstalling and reinstalling a few times I then downloaded the one from darkgamex but it wont connect either. Can someone help me sort this out?

I know I was all over this a few years ago but I have to admit I am feeling very much like a noob and I need some help.

We are on cyclone watch up here right now and I have to go move a boat tomorrow so I wont be able to check back for a couple of days but I promise to be back and to be just as annoying as ever Smiley

I still love everything Devcoin stands for and hope I can help the community in positive ways

Melodie

Hey Melodie!  I wondered where you disappeared to!  I had problems with my old forum account as well and had to start with a new user name.

I am definitely for Devtome to continue to remain in service.  I wish there was a way it could be better monetized and revitalized.

I hear that Streemian is closing completely. That's probably going to put a damper in this Steemit project.

Streemian is just one tool of the many available. Look: http://steemtools.com/
If you want similar functionality try steemvoter.

I tried to send you a pm but my status is still too new. You mentioned sending a message after 24hrs if no upvote on the #devcoin steemit posts. Thanks.

A question, Develcuy I have upvoted Papa's article, but I thought the system will make you vote automatically any article you submit by #devcoin, it doesn't work that way? I think I haven't grasp very well the mechanics.  Huh

Thanks for  yhe upvote!  Smiley

That is the good news I want to tell everyone but it is delayed till the new version of STEEM blockchain. Stay tunned Wink

What can we expect from Devcoin and STEEM?

First of all happy 2018!!

All devtome users can benefit from it! STEEM is a social publishing platform with its own blockchain, it has two tokens: STEEM and SBD, you get paid 50% STEEM and 50% SBD for your articles after 7 days. The amount you earn is a product of the votes (actually "upvotes") your post managed to attract from other users. Such weight is calculated from the amount of VESTS or "STEEM POWER" each voting users holds, your current Voting Power and the relative market price of SBD/USD pair. Currently 1 SBD worths ~6.5 USD

In short, you make money with "likes" Smiley

Are you interested on becoming a beta user of my new @devcoin project on STEEM and make easy coins? Do this:

- Register a new account in steemit.com
- Authorize @devcoin to vote with your account https://v2.steemconnect.com/authorize/@devcoin (this will help to fund @devcoin)
- Vote for devcoin witness https://v2.steemconnect.com/sign/account-witness-vote?witness=devcoin&approve=1 (this will help to fund @devcoin as well)
- Publish an article in steemit.com with the tag #devcoin (you can also use busy.org to post articles)
- Place your Devcoin Address at the bottom of your post, using this format: @devcoin/MYDEVCOINADDRRESS (example: @devcoin/1DogCa5wiVZJWFnFDezuw5XssoWWabijnE )
- Your post will be voted with a value of ~0.10 SBD (~0.65 USD), this is your reward for being a beta tester!
- Wait up to 24 hours, if your post is not upvoted please send me a private message
- After 7 days, you'll receive 1 Devcoin for every SBD your post got paid
- Voila! You just merged mined Devcoin and STEEM by writing content!

If this experiment goes well I'll add more features and more funds to raise the rewards!

This is looking interesting. I see that it's a different setup than delegating SP to @devcoin. Can you please also post the way to unauthorize @devcoin to vote using one's account? That way, people who want to try it out for a short time will be more comfortable knowing how they can turn it off. I don't post much on Steemit these days, but if I get back to doing that more, I may give this a whirl.

How is progress going on getting Devcoin listed on an exchange?

Sure thing! You can revoke voting rights to @devcoin with this: https://v2.steemconnect.com/revoke/@devcoin

If we already have a steemit account, do we need to create an additional account or go through the above process with our current account?

No, you can use your existing account

ok, I think I completed all of the steps properly.  Here is the first post I completed using #devcoin.  Should we use #devcoin on future articles as well or is this just for a beta test run?
