My daily driver OS is Ubuntu 18.04

CRC check was ok

So I managed to extract the zip on windows 10

Common issue when zipped in Windows and attempt to extract in Linux.

Will flash, test and report back A.S.A.P.

Image was zipped with Ubuntu 18.04.

Now thats strange ....

Hi guys,

I have been using nvOC for many months, it is absolutely rock solid, thank you to all the dev team.
I am looking for some help with hopefully a basic request.
I have solar on my roof and would like to be able to schedule the mining to run only between sunrise and sunset, or alternatively between times I specify (say 7am to 7PM). The idea is free energy during the day of course.

I've had a look through 1bash but could not see anything to that effect. Of course, most people will want to run the rigs non stops, so probably not useful for most.

Perhaps ideally the rig would go into sleep mode while not mining to really cut it to the bone, but just pausing the mining would be good enough.

Can someone recommend an approach?

Thanks!

Will try to add it to next release,
In the mean time you can check this github pull request to get some ideas if you want to add it yourself

That would be absolutely amazing, thank you for all your hard work!

Scheduled mining added to 3.1-dev beta testing.

You can check and use nnvOC setup from a git clone to test/use 3.1-dev or wait for next stable release.

Hi mate,

Nice to see you back to coding for miners again.

Will test and report as soon as I can.

As always you can count on me for any helps if needed.

Good to know, let me know what you think.

Can you please post SHA256 checksum.
Download the zip 2 times and keeps giving error on extracting.

zip SHA256 is:

65d86a685740ed5fcc58928fe35839a25830586189b21758f23336a8fd126530

What OS are you using?

Linux Forever... Resistance is futile!!!  Grin

Only tried on ubuntu, will do a CRC check.if ok will test on windows.
If its zipped on windows some times I've seen it gives error on ubuntu,

I tested with Ubuntu 18.04 last night and didn't have a problem.

I used the Extract from the right click menu.

From terminal: unzip PATH also worked.

I imaged using the Ubuntu Disks application.

I did find a problem on macOS using its built in extraction.  I would guess it is similar to the problem you are having.

To extract on macOS I had to open terminal and use:

unzip PATH

The easy way to get the PATH is to simply drag the file from the GUI to the terminal.

However the Etcher imaging application can image from the zip which is convenient, and also means that on macOS, or Windows or Linux if using Etcher you don't need to extract.

What version of Ubuntu are you using?

Re: Foreman: monitor your miners remotely!

I'm very proud to announce that we officially support MiningRigRentals.

From Foreman, see your miner health, status, temperatures, when you're rented, and how much you're making.  Curious if you're making more when you're rented vs. when you're not?  Check your Earnings graph, which overlays the two, making it clear!

All in one place, so you don't have to check several sites to see how your operation is performing.

Great news.
Keep up the good work.

If I'm not mistaken I see, maybe your account papampi already recovered, you can see below.
Hopefully I'm right, and you can get your account again.

Has received 8 merit 5 times, from 3 profiles

You can see here: All the Ownership-Changed and Restored accounts

Yup, following the Updated Recovering hacked/lost accounts thread I got an email in less than an hour and after sending the needed info I got another email that account has been queued for recovery using my email address and it will be done automatically in 7 days.

I made a new management website / OS.

Oros makes it easy to configure, edit, reboot, update, and monitor rigs from your pc, tablet, or smartphone.

oros thread OP

Why you should try openrig.net/oros:

At current exchange rates/difficulty: a 1% fee is approximately $0.12 to $0.18 a month per GPU, depending on what coin is mined.  I may reduce this in the future depending on actual overhead costs.  I believe any free Mining Management Service (MMS) is either selling your information or waiting to reach a user threshold before charging users (bait and switch).

My Ethash client should match or exceed Claymore’s hashrate (for 1000 series Nvidia GPUs) + has no fee.

Both openrig.net and oros are extremely secure.

Oros has almost no writes; so the USB key is unlikely to need servicing / reimaging / replacement.  Put otherwise; oros is reliable with a USB key.

When developing openrig.net/oros I focused on automating the processes an individual follows when they monitor rigs.  Oros's execution is controlled by a no-compromises watchdog that will self heal from almost any problem.

Oros has low network utilization.

Algorithm specific OC works without problems and is easy to use.  After configuring a group for Algo specific OC you need only switch the group coin, and your chosen OC for that algorithm will be set automatically.

It is extremely easy to configure a rig with openrig.net/oros.

I keep getting job timeouts with both claymore and ethminer

ETH: Job timeout, disconnect, retry in 20 sec...

Hi, can anyone expline how exactly update TRex miner please

Sorry for late reply,
You can use @Tigel how to or post a heads up here or in discord channel with miner update link and we will update them in miners repo.

Updated some miners:
t-rex 0.8.8
z-enemy 1.28
CryptoDredge 0.14.0

Just update your nvOC
Code:
bash ~/NVOC/mining/nvOC upgrade

Good afternoon. Can't connect to the new RVN Nanopool pool. Writes errors:

_[0m_[0;93m20181217 00:10:22 WARN: failed to subscribe, JSON-RPC call failed: member "result" must have Json::ValueType 6 instead of 5 (original json {"id":1,"jsonrpc":"2.0","result":true}
)
_[0m_[1;91m20181217 00:10:22 ERROR: No connection, retry after 10 seconds

Check with your miner help thread and see if your miner command line is correct or not.
You can see the miner start command in gnome-terminal.

Is it safe to upgrade it via web to latest?

When I try to do "opkg install firmware" or "opkg upgrade firmware" it gives me "Unknown package 'firmware'" or "Cannot install package firmware"

Hello again, I have installed the new version.  On first boot, after purple screen, I'm sent to a black screen with text:
"BusyBox v122 built in shell (ash)
Enter help for list of built-in commands.
(initramfs)"
When I restart rig from this screen it boots into ubuntu dash, terminal begins and mining session starts however when it reaches the overclock application stage, the screen fragments and freezes up.  Restarting from this point takes me back to the BusyBox screen.
Any recommendations or could I have you take a look at my files to see what I may be doing wrong?  I would really appreciate it and can compensate for your time.
Thank you.

If system freeze while or after applying OC that usually means there are aggressive values set and cards cant handle, try lowering the values and test.

Latest nvOC Community release stable is 19-3.0, have a look at the nvOC GitHub,
Flash the image, grab latest 1bash.template, save it as 1bash, edit it and put in small fat partition.
