If you are in a poor country with a weak economy you could also benefit from joining a signature campaign. You won't be able to do it for about a 2-3 month period where you must show your contribution to the forums, but honestly that will probably end up earning you a lot more than mining with a single computer and you would also learn a lot more about crypto in general. Check the local boards if you speak a language other than English and you might be able to help there as well. Good luck.

Well, it does seem silly to be getting mad at the OP for stealing when the intention of the program was to steal from Claymore.
Having said that, Millenium Falcon has been outed as a crook and I doubt you'll see him log back in again, at least not under that alias.

I mine simply to help recoup the cost of my rent which covers my electricity. Normally I live miserly but I see my neighbors running an oven and using the AC at the same time and I'm subsidizing that, so might as well help the world's digital currency take off.

Re: Is there a list of currently operating Bitcoin mining firms?
Still worth it to mine bitcoin or go mining ether?
Ether is not a store of value. Buy bitcoin instead of mining them.
Why ether isn't a store of value? Bitcoin is the best criptocurrency and has the highest price? I heard that the price of ether has fallen, can this happen again?
Bitcoin is intended to be used a currency. Ether is intended to be used as a digital ledger for smart contracts. Owning ether is owning part of the ledger network - similar effect but different basis.

We have to go there to search for intelligent life. We have searched the majority of this planet and we haven't found it yet
Don't encourage people who are looking to support a network to go chasing after dust payments. Faucets are not income - they are a novelty for learning. smh.

Add in the fact that all the mining hardware is produced there (everything from the power supplies to the cable ties to the ethernet cables) and China's advantage is just ridiculous.

At halving your "profit" doesn't get cut in half. Your Gross income (barring changes in fees) gets cut in half. The difficulty will drop some as negative/marginal players drop out - but ultimately only the leanest players will remain.
I'm guessing (hoping) we don't see an S8 until July of 2016. I would expect we'd see something like 8TH/s @ 1250 watts.
i'm expecting 10 TH/S for 1000 watts maybe around nov this year after halving
I still think we're a year off before we reach effective 1TH/100w - at least on 110V miners. 240V rigs will be closer to that goal.

With Eth prices tanking buy a Nano right now to mine Eth is a very risky proposition. Used cards only or don't mine.

Alt Rock and 80s-90s like Depeche Mode, Police, Cranberries, REM, Foo Fighters. Older Hip Hop that didn't have the words drank, baby, shawty, boo, club
How sad is it that people with "free" electricity can't even help secure the network against centralization. Damn you China farms! *shakes fist*

Well as long a Buffet has Obama's ear and is able to put all his trains to use there is going to be no breakthrough on the electric "front". Old industry beats new with "old ways".

So very few hardware manufacturers in the Bitcoin ever delivered more wealth to their clients despite making grandiose claims. BFL was probably the biggest loudmouth of them all.

This kind of mining concept existed in 2010 and 2011 and had the final nail put in it's coffin with the coming of SHA-256 ASICs. CPUs shouldn't be going anywhere near SHA-256.
It's a shame Bitmain hasn't had a good home option (ie low noise) for mining that has decent efficiency since the S3.
You need a spot for miners at this point almost. You can run a Avalon 6 easier in side a room. But S7 would be hard without actually doing some sound mods. Phil has shown a good one in past.
But I would not expect the miners to be any smaller. You either need to be able to get use to it, or have an area. I think it's moving from home miner to hobby miner. That is the trend I see.
Given the crap that Yifu has surrounding him I don't want anything to do with anything named Avalon ever again - even if it costs me a chance at profit.
I have space, but I can't tolerate loud miners where I plan on placing them so I'm out of viable options currently.

Yeah it's pretty disgusting that just 1000 miles away I'm paying 9x as much for my power thanks to Edison hiking up the rates again for the next 3 years. Sad that it costs more for electricity in metropolitan Los Angeles than it does on a secluded island like Hawaii.
Than go to state AG office and file complaint online.
Better just use bitcoin. They are big and the government wont do anything.
He will be just wasting his time with useless bureocrats.
Depends on the state. I live in CA and this is the worst state for businesses. It's the best if you want to fight a company. Antime I reference the CA State AG or Trade or Labor Bureau I get things solved quickly
