Re: How Will Ethereum Scale?
by

Towards the end of last year, just before bitcoin started to crash, people were having huge problems with Ethereum, and I even remember some who were swearing that they would never use ETH again; because the transactions were very slow due to congestion. We don't have something like that at the moment, but I bet the same thing will happen once the number of ETH transactions starts going up again.

Re: Will Bitcoin become a daily currency???

Bitcoin is pretty much settled as a commodity now. I think a paradigm shift is going to be needed for it to become a daily currency. You have to also keep in mind that the current infrastructure behind bitcoin does not allow it to become a daily currency, due to scalability issues.

Re: Would you still buy Bitcoin?

Yes I still buy Bitcoin. It is not very cheap, but I believe it will be more expensive than today, in the near future. I don't it will go down to 7,000 again, at least not this year. But it will definitely go up, may reach 20,000.

If it's only infatuation, it will die slowly and you won't be thinking about that person anymore. But it may be infatuation and grow, which will then lead to love, but to understand that you need time.

Re: will you save your bicoin for future??

I think right now everybody saves their Bitcoins for the future, because the price went down compared to the last year and there are many who think it will increase in 2018. I wonder if people will be still keeping their Bitcoins for the future if it reaches to 20,000 dollars in the middle of 2018.

Re: How to know the potential activity of my account ???
by

on 23/02/2018, 19:17:46 UTC
My accoount activity is around 50 right now but i know its potential activity is pretty high...but i dont know how much it is exactly...
the bitcointalkaccountpricer is not working...so is there any way to know the potential activity of my bitcointalk account

What does potential activity mean? Even if you post thousands of comments, some time needs to pass in order for your activity to increase. Besides, activity has pretty much taken a back seat to merit, because merit is way harder to obtain than activity.

Re: merit hole: 30 accounts more than 500 merits
by
partysumo
on 23/02/2018, 19:14:36 UTC
I noticed ivanst776 has been sending a lot of merits for posts that were basically shitposts, but I'm still on the fence about how much of a transgression it is to do so, and I never said anything.

Glad you started this thread--ironically, I would give OP some merit but I ran out of them.

I would totally not be disappointed if a DT member tagged all of these users. I feel strongly that shitposters should not "earn" enough merit to rank up, and certainly that these shmucks didn't deserve even 2 merits for any of their posts, much less 10 or 20.  That's insane.

I agree with your sentiment, but doesn't the necessity to report posts that have earned merits for no reason mean that the merit system is not working? If we still have to manually report shitposts, why do we have merits then?

Re: How to avoid bitcoin's end.
by

on 23/02/2018, 19:10:41 UTC
Just came to my mind today. What are the things that could end bitcoin's life? What are the threats that bitcoin could face? Are there famous people who want to end bitcoins aside from the government officials? And how can we avoid and survive those?
Bro, do not think about that at the moment. The popularity of bitcoin and crypto currency, only gaining momentum, not taking into account the situation on the market at the moment. Just live here and now.  Wink  Smiley

Not thinking about your future is not the best course of action, is it? We all hope for the best but you have to always consider your eventual exit strategies, because if the market does crash eventually, you will not be able to wish it away.

Huh, so what you're saying is that a website with a URL called FREE BITCOIN is a scam? Who would have thought it?

Don't forget, perhaps these faucets may have been worth if you had done them a long time ago and hodl'd since then, but nowadays, since bitcoin's value has skyrocketed, you are never going to make a meaningful amount of money off of faucets.

Great news. No matter how small an impact Uzbekistan might have economically, it is great to see that more and more countries are trying to come up with ways to regulate bitcoin instead of banning it.

Marttaki olası yükselme ile ilgili tahmini olan var m? En azından Bitcoin için ne düşünüyorsunuz? 25,000 i görmesi muhtemel midir? Açıkçası 50,000 söylentileri 2018 yılı için bana gerçekçi gözükmüyor.

I also agree with the topic, for long term investments you need to forget your BTC/token... I was also looking at the app I am using every second, but now I am looking only once a day. I need to work on it more, but I think looking every 3-4 days is enough.

If you want to increase your rank and than join campaigns you need to read and search a lot, since there is this merit system. I would also suggest Blog campaigns because you can earn a lot only by writing and posting.

Re: When people say they buy BTC at different prices
by
partysumo
on 17/02/2018, 20:27:36 UTC
Many people would make comments like i bought bitcoin at 6k, and then at 15k, then bought some more at 8k etc.  I notice many people would mention this.  First off, if someone was not aware of bitcoin and how it works, wouldn't most people assuming the people who say this are buying at least 1 btc each everytime they say i bought btc at 6k, then 15k and then 8k etc?  Because the thing is someone could buy btc at 15k price but only bought like 500 dollars worth.

So do people who say they bought btc at so many different prices, i guess it really doesn't mean that much if they buy very little right?  I mean you could even say i bought btc at 15k buy you bought maybe 100 dollars or even 10 dollars of it.  So in essence, am i correct with this statement or not?  Because serious how many people have the extra money to buy 1 btc even now?  Most people don't even 10k in their bank account etc.

Well don't think about it in absolute terms, you say you bought at different levels just to have a general idea of how much profit you made until now. It's more like a feel-good thing rather than measuring actual fiscal performance, in my opinion.

Re: Does the merit system have weaknesses?
by
partysumo
on 17/02/2018, 20:20:03 UTC
The major weakness is that there is no objective method of measuring whether a post has a high quality or not. As such, experienced members get to decide which posts get merits. When you also consider the fact that the merit sources are very limited, you will see that even if there were a lot of high quality posts, not all of them could get merits.

So in my opinion, the number of merit sources and the total number of users are disproportionate.

Re: Why are bounty hunters guilty?
by
partysumo
on 17/02/2018, 20:15:08 UTC
Who said bounty hunters are guilty? Bounty hunters are not lowering any rate at all, if anything, they are generating additional exposure for the ICO so that ICOs are likelier to succeed. Besides, if giving out bounties were not profitable, ICOs wouldn't be offering them in the first place.
