WOOF COIN
Since the beginning of the pandemic, pet surrendering rates have increased dramatically around the world. Waitlists for surrendering household pets have increased to a remarkable eight months as animal shelters and welfare organisations have seen an increase of 34% for animals needing help.
Typically, animal shelters are under resourced and under financed; relying heavily on donations and the volunteer efforts to assist animals.
This is where Woof Coin steps in. As avid lovers of dogs, we wanted to make a difference. Using the power of Proof of Work mining, weâve created a coin where miners are contributing to the donation of money to animal welfare shelters. These shelters initially include the ASPCA who already have a cryptocurrency donation mechanism but with intention to expand to the RSPCA and other organizations suggested by the community.
Our aim is to put animals first and we intend on developing ongoing relationships with pet shelters to help adoption.

we need more miners in the pool, more so than ever now, not less. At a minimum let's not encourage people to leave.
So the pool need a modern, updated, nice-looking frontend. An even lower fees are necessary, 0.5% is the only possible value for pool to be attractive for miners. May be some reward for those who find a block (with total hashrate per account is lower than 500 Th) is a good measure too if kano has any funds for it.

Block reward just increases variance and attracting tiny miners wont help - the pool has to at least pay for itself

I don't know about others, but I chose your pool initially because of this page: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Comparison_of_mining_pools It is one of the first resources you find, when looking for pools.
Your fee may have been 0% for a while last year, and that was exactly when I was looking for a pool for my new S9. Since that table was not up to date I had no idea the fees were 0%. In my opinion, you did not see any difference or increase in hashrate then because not many people outside the pool knew that it's fees had been lowered.

Guys, do you know if something major happened in the last few days that BTC has lost so much value? I am not complaining, I know it will bounce back, I am just curious.

If you are looking for recent news pay attention to the Korean news and also the articles talking about the exchanges shutting their doors temporarily to new customers as they upgrade their infrastructure.

Any info on problems with fan speeds on the s9? Got 3 hooked up today, been running 4.5hours now, and one of them likes to ramp up the fans to 6k rpm even though the temps are fine. Maybe a bad firmware? Also one of them is throwing .266% invalid/stale shares but this is below the pool avg so from what I understand thats pretty normal and will level out as I complete the ramp up period. Thanks for the help
I have one that goes from 4k to 6k every few minutes - or at least it did when it was SLIGHTLY warmer than it is now. (I mean by 2-4 degrees) I upgraded to "File System Version Fri Nov 17 17:57:49 CST 2017" in hopes of it correcting, but it didn't.
The highest chip temp is currently 76 and it no longer ramps up and down - however, I have no doubt that when the temps get back up to 78 it will resume the up and down.
What is your highest chip temp on your S9 that is spinning at 6k?
What changes in a S9 miner with an update?

I refuse to pay that much for a miner. I'll stick with trying to get Antminers for 1450 or whatever they were last round.
Quite pricey. 11TH/s for $4000 or 14TH/s for $2500 when bitmain has some more on sale. I'd say the 14Th/s are worth a bit more.

Wow, now that I am fully ramped up and have seen a few blocks, I get it now. I am a true believer in Kano's pool!
I made more BTC in the last two blocks than an entire month of mining at Antpoo (back when I did not know any better!) or three weeks at Slush - even though the hash rate was almost identical.
Even though my 26TH is peanuts to most folks, it is still my primary way of building by BTC balance and Kano's pool is the best way I have tried - wish I had switched years ago!

Some like you get it but there are always skeptics out there who will only test for 1 day or 1 week, get angry, and then go back to wherever they came from

The red line represents the average hash rate my miners presented to the pool for this last 5Nd. So, when this red line displays my actual average hash rate THEN I'll be fully ramped up and receiving full quotas of the blocks.
Is that it?

DUMB QUESTION: If you order something online and pay with Btc (actually send it), and what you ordered never shows up, you've just been scammed, right? How do you deal with this Btc flaw? (in this way Btc is pretty much like cash - at least with a credit card you're sorta protected from scams - am I seeing this correctly?)
The moment you send a transaction and it is confirmed by the network, you only get your BTC back if the person who receives it decides to send it back to you.
Look at the Nicehash hack, for example: Everyone knows which address held the stolen BTC, but they sure as hell aren't getting it back.

In general, the numbers of shares should be roughly the difficulty. So at today's difficulty, you'd be expected to find a block after 1,931,136,454,487 shares. However, it isn't a perfect calculation, since there is variance and luck. So when you see 140% diff, it means we've shared 40% over the amount that should give a block, statistically.

Coz, it's like rolling a dice, you of course expect to get a 6, on average, every 6 rolls, but of course you don't get exactly that.
Sometimes you might get two 6's, or no 6's, or three 6's - that's 'chaos' coming into it and giving you 'random' results - as long as the dice isn't weighted

i.e. the most important part to understand in that, is that it's ok to get long blocks every so often, and that table even says, on average, how often to expect them, as long as the long term average is still close to 100%
Short term, the averages go up and down dramatically, but long term it should get closer and closer to 100% average.
