I don't think it is that simple because you if someone steals a TV from you, that isn't currency either, but they can be prosecuted.  Bitcoins are electronic but they still have value adn I think you could sue someone who stole them and would be up to judge or jury to decide...and DA to decide whether or not to bring charges.

I wonder if it is still worth it to buy a new PC to mine with?  I don't want to with my main PC because seems like it would slow it down too much.

what is a $10 bitcoin?   A bitcoin right now is worth about $115.  So $10 of that woudl be about .1 bitcoins.

yes good points are made and I'm sure they were using them before starting to ship. But as someone else pointed out, the mining manufacturers during the gold rush made more than the miners.  So is is probably just good business.

We don't really know yet but the price of ripples has gone up someting like 1000% in the last couple of months so it is certainly worth watching and some people find it to have value even though some others do not.
