Re: ALERT***A new SCAM COINDASH from the scammers of GETGEMZ scam project!!!!!!

Regarding GetGems, long story short:

- GetGems had VC governance from day one, there wasn't any misuse of funds.
- The validation to this is that very reputable additional investors such as MasterCard, Santander InnoVentures, CommerzVentures, Siam Commercial Bank, SBI Group invested in the company in the round A and round B investment rounds.
- Every one of these investors is exposed to the financials statements of the company and disclosure schedule detailing all the agreements and history of the company. If there was even a slight risk that the company is a scam or that there was any wrongdoing these reputable investors would have never joined.

Some facts:

GetGems was the first ICO in Israel back at 2014, it was also the first israeli crypto company to receive funding from a reputable VC (Magma) with many strong portfolio companies such as Waze, Argos, TabTale etc.

GetGems was also the first ICO to raise funds with a milestone based structure (using Koinify platform). This meant that the project didn't receive the $800k raised instantly but based on accomplishing development milestones that were detailed in advanced. Adam Krellenstein the co-founder of Counterparty and a well respected protocol developer was the arbitrator for the GetGems funds which were held in a multisig wallet.

GetGems built the promised milestones (and a lot of other features) and reached 300k+ organic mobile downloads which was a big accomplishment only few other crypto apps reached at the time, but unfortunately the adoption wasn't strong enough to raise additional funds to keep the project alive as is.

As many startups do in such a situation new ideas were thought out and eventually the project pivoted to become PayKey.

It's important to note that none of the funds raised during the token sale were used to build PayKey rather funds from Magma and additional funds from respected investors such as MasterCard, Santander, CommerzVentures were raised during the Series A round: https://www.finextra.com/pressarticle/67161/paykey-raises-6-million-in-series-a-funding and Series B funding: https://techcrunch.com/2017/10/19/paykey-raises-10m-for-its-millennial-targeted-social-banking-smartphone-keyboard/.

Some people don't realize but $800k isn't a lot of money in the startup world, it's about 12 months of operation. If you get a product market fit and traction you might be able to raise additional funds if not most likely you will close the business. A lot of startups with much more money have failed. It's hard to build a real sustainable business. Working hard and having partial success or even failing eventually is very far from a scam, and is what nearly every real entrepreneur has experienced.

To get an idea http://getgems.org/julia/

Scroll down and you'll see a conversation.

that's a complete lie. all the bot does is repeating the same message over and over. just like a robot

Its currently an MVP version of Juilia, soon the ability to buy and sell bitcoin using coinbase API directly from within Telegram will be added and we are working to improve Juilia AI so a new user will be able to get answer to common questions.

Not really getting how this bot works or how it's useful... What are its application? Smiley

User friendly, the Telegram base users is 60m so  potential access to lots of people is pretty huge.

But I think the major use is Coinbase users can access their account through Telegram or a Getgems wallet.

I guess another step toward wider adoption.

Seems nice, but I definitely wouldn't want to connect any of my Bitcoin related activities to a chat app.

Is this too much privacy-paranoid?

The session with coinbase is SSL encrypted from start to end, the bot uses oauth2 implementation and guidelines on top of Telegram encrypted protocol.

Development Update

On behalf of the development team, I'd like to provide an update on our development plan to address feedbacks around Android release schedule as well as concerns around bootstrapping the initial user base -- which is the biggest challenge for any new social network.

While working on our iOS proof-of-concept version for Gems, we have kept evaluating different options for messaging infrastructure, including homegrown, open source and even commercial solutions. After much heated internal debate and evaluation (Surespot, Textsecure, Telegram), we ultimately decided to leverage Telegram's infrastructure given its open source nature, high level of encrption and relatively mature client app on iOS and Android that we can build on top of.  Most importantly, it allows Gems users to seamlessly interact with existing Telegram 50 million active users from day one.

With the messaging infrastructure resolved, the dev team can now focus completely on delivering our top priorities and Gem's key innovations - including:
- Built-in crypto wallet (which is going to be the first counterparty mobile wallet on the market)
- Reward and Airdrop system to reward users
- Anti-spam filters
- A powerful advertising platform

These building blocks together form the attention based reward economy that Gems aims to build, and help users take back the social network. It also allow us to support both iOS and Android platform in a much more aggressive timeline.

Appreciate everyone's feedbacks so far, we've been listening closely and I hope you're excited as we are about the plan and solution to move forward.

Announcement

GEMS TO JOIN 50M TELEGRAM USERS

GEMS (www.getgems.org)— The Gems development team, lead by Daniel Peled has announced a major move to help Gems reach a critical mass of users from the start.
“Secure Open Source code developed by Telegram helps us get to the market faster with all the messaging features, plus a critical mass of users with iOS and Android apps” said Peled.

Gems users will be able to message users who are currently using Telegram or third party messaging apps built on Telegram which offers security such as secret chats (self destruct options) using end-to-end encryption and large Group Chats (up to 200) with sharing of media and even document files.

Gems development progress will have the added advantage of focusing all efforts towards the more important and innovative feature of Gems; the built-in Bitcoin/Gems wallet including the unique Airdrop referral program, and the Attention Rewards Economy model using unsolicited messages. Link here: http://bit.ly/1GngtCJ

Peled went on to say, “The pace of Android development for GEMS was being questioned on the forums and we felt there was a gap that needed to be addressed. Momentum is important and we had to find a solution.”

"Moving the GEMS Android app forward using Telegram is the best way for the GEMS team to help us all take back Social Media. All Android users should be very pleased."

GEMS - CCN - Announcement

College Cryptocurrency Network Joins
GEMS Messaging App Revolution

GEMS (www.getgems.org)—a fresh take on social media networking that will utilize the power of the blockchain to reward people for what they’re already doing: instant messaging one another—today announced its partnership with the College Cryptocurrency Network (http://collegecrypto.org). Over 1 million students attending more than 150 universities, colleges, middle and high schools are represented by chapters of the College Cryptocurrency Network (CCN).

CCN members will be able to take advantage of crowd sale prices—plus an additional 9 percent bonus—to purchase GEMS’ token, Gemz. The success of the Gemz crowd sale has now reached over $600,000 USD in less than two weeks, showing that the time is right to support this new way of monetizing social media using peer-to-peer technology.

In exchange, CCN plans to use GEMS to spread the word about digital currency to potential new members.

According to the CCN’s executive director, Jeremy Gardner, “The College Cryptocurency Network was founded with the purpose of creating a grassroots movement for blockchain education, innovation and advocacy. We are excited to partner with a company with such a similarly aligned mission of grassroots adoption. Gems will provide an excellent gateway for young people interested in cryptocurrencies to gain access in an intuitive manner by sharing messaging with their friends.”

Learn more about the CCN at collegecrypto.org and visit Koinify.com to purchase Gemz here: https://koinify.com/#/project/GEMZ. My favorite quote from Robby: “if people want to sell their XCP as soon as the web wallet comes out, they should go for it. I think it's kind of like stepping over a dollar to pick up a nickel though. Smiley” - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=395761.msg5693350#msg5693350.

it took bitcoin ~5 years to become mainstream, my guess it will take counterparty ~3 years, or maybe less at this speed. keep up the great work.

this is also a great quote: "xcp is the most undervalued "coin" in the cryptosphere - true story
because counterparty is, regarding coding, quality and intellect of the developers the reference in the complete altcoin section." - nakaone, May 11, 2014.
