The situation with Ethereum is very poor. We are waiting when his problems with ddos & next hardfork will be solved. We need his stability to launch.

Is this project in anyway dependent on Augur?  Is there a point at which Ethereum instability may force you to consider a different platform?

Thanks, it works and it took about 6h to sync. The wallet is good looking. Exploring the settings I saved the seed and created a spending password as I would do on the real network. I'm confused by the backup part, the instructions say that the seed isn't enough to recreate the account but you need other settings too but it doesn't say which ones or how to save them (I don't remember the exact phrase because it was deleted along the seed after I saved it).

I agree with this assessment - I think clearer instructions on how to backup the wallet are necessary.

Where do you get he setup up a GMBH? If so, I should be able to find opair in the chamber of e-commerce Europe. There is no sign of Frank or business called Opair.

From the OP of this thread. 'Frank' made the proposal and they 'found' a legal advisor that they were going to consult to assist with formation. Believe what you will, of course.

Important

Frank, our founder, proposed to create a gGmbH -it is similar to a tax-exempt LLC but in Germany- to manage the funds gathered at the ICO, which we think it will be a wise move and it will offer more transparency to our project and the security for to the XPO holders to know that we will not act irrationally or for our own profit. Therefore after discussing this matter and given that Frank lives in Germany we decided that the idea of creating a gGmbH or another type of organization will bring reassurance and confidence to our investors.

Due to the fact that we do not count with a legal consultant, after doing some research, we came across with Winheller Attorneys Tax Advisors firm, who we think will meet our needs. You can find more information about them at: http://www.winheller.com/en/nonprofit-organizations/nonprofit-limited-liability-co/set-up-a-nonprofit-llc-in-germany.html. What made up our minds was the fact that they have worked with Bitcoin (http://www.winheller.com/en/banking-finance-and-insurance-law/bitcoin-trading.html) and that they accept BTC to hire them. Even though we have not reached them yet, we plan to do so shortly to discuss our project and as soon as we have some information we will post it.

There is absolutely no reason to be listed on an exchange if there is no tangible project. So calm down.

On this forum, less than 2 months ago, was an airdropped coin called FastCash.  The dev came out with a whitepaper and a Qt wallet (probly walletbuilders).  Had a huge premine.

It got listed on c-cex FCH and was selling at 8k satoshis.  It's now 200-300 satoshis.  Dev unheard from since Aug 28.

Anybody with significant XPO not named wasserman, Frank or Hao have a right to worry more than anyone who had FCH for free at any point.

wasserman, if you don't want FUD, log in to your own freaking slack once a week. At least let people know that you're going to be away for a while.  You are in charge of a lot of money. In my neck of the woods, your unannounced absence with that much money on the line means 'scam and run.'

Compare Opair's slack to LBRY's to see what a legit project dev team should be doing.  Hell, LBRY had the cojones to do a Reddit AMA; to do that, Reddit's ops team now verifies identity/legitimacy.

If you need more funding, pitch VCs to get funds.  I know a guy in my city who got Overstock to fund his BTC idea - hit them up for the funding you missed by choosing anonymity above all else.  Corporations like that know how to sign and maintain NDAs and would definitely protect yourself, 'Frank' and 'Hao'

Never say you have no control over the price.  Any decent company (you did set that GmBH up, right?) issuing stock can institute a set-value buyback that would immediately up the price or floor a drop if that was a true concern.  OR, you know, put out news to show why such pricing is undeserved because of xyz work being done.

I don't know as much about BTC, cryptocurrencies or blockchains as I should, but I know marketing, customer service, operations and business.  Opair is overripe for a 'hostile' takeover, thanks to your missteps.  If you don't show up with some concrete development work and a testnet, or at the very least learn to communicate better before October 31, the O in Opair's logo is going to look like a ring of fire as the project burns to the ground.

I have a rule with altcoins - first buy is never more than a cup of coffee.  I can skip my local cafe for a day if it's a scam like this.

Now, though, I'd like to understand how a different dev could take over this project?  Coin exchange?

What exactly do you want?  Cheesy

Oh please, teacher, please!

An updated roadmap
The OCaml Wallet
The OCaml blockchain implementation (at least a mf testnet)
The debit cards

Opair slack is a cemetery and haven't seen responses from wasserman in ages.  Baghodlers like me need to kiss their $5 (I pray you didn't buy more than that in phase 1) goodbye.

Real insurance is rife with similar fraud...up to murder and or false death.

I'm hoping a lot of any funds earned will go to investigation team, operations and ROI.

I really wish Inchain team will be transparent, for the project to be successful and solving a large problem existing in this sphere.

You can look up some public info for reference on Dmitry Lazarichev, co-founder of Wirex - a BTC finance company.

I don't know anyone on the team and know that scammers may use industry names to trick people.  Just thought it might help to have something to compare to if such info already exists.  Also, that link is just the first one I found so you can find better stuff, I'm sure.

Is there a Byteball slack?  When I completely bork my installation or do something really odd between my Android phone, Linus desktop and Windows laptop, I'd rather not clutter up the thread.

virustotal results

I am quite happy that a wallet has been released, and (as per OP) some bounties have been paid. However, I must say I'm a little disappointed with the quality of the initial wallet release. I understand that there are more important things that need to be worked on, but I believe a bit more style could have gone into that wallet and only taken an extra 30-60 minutes of 'dev time'.  A simple cloned wallet takes a noob (from my own experience as a noob) 2 days to figure out, maybe 3. I personally had a basic wallet with my 'custom' logo's within 2 days on my first attempt (without runtime issues).

I am not trying to downplay the fact that we do have a wallet and that some progress has been shown, I'm simply sharing my honest opinion.

All that being said, I'm patiently awaiting distribution and checking in on this thread from time to time to keep in the loop with the project Smiley

Thank you for the results, I agree with your other comments as well.

What I've found so far with the windows binary is that the installer appears to work, but launching the wallet fails after that. Going to try the following:
1. backup my C:\Users\...\AppData\Local\byteball-test
2. Delete the folder above
3. Reinstall using the binary
4. Attempt to reload my wallet from the backup.

Re: [PRE-ANN] INCHAIN. Ethereum based insurance platform

Do you have any advisores with an insurance background?

How do you plan on calculating the risks/price? Normal insurance appraisals can be difficult but they have many years of data and models to base things on. As this havent been done before, how do you make sure the price matches the risk?

Also how do you spot a false claim? I am guessing there will be countless attempts to exploit the system.

I really like your idea as it will help the blockchain ecosystem a lot, but my main concern is whether or not it can be run well enough to make a profit.

Yes, we do have such advisors. Our model is based on the past and real-time events. Obviously, we will run a number of surveys to find out how much people are willing to spend on the policies and what return investors expect.

Every claim can be satisfied only if the smart contract initiates it (the oracle has identified the case) and the transfer is signed by the insurance committee.

We expect to receive profits mostly from the fund management activities.

Forgot to ask - you have certified actuarial support on board then?

(Loved my former actuarial team.  Poor dears work so hard nowadays to make insurance products even remotely attractive and profitable).

I wouldn't say NAV.  NAV gives you the option of sending and receiving coins in a manner that could be considered mixed, but also allows normal BTC-type transactions.

Edit - Maybe Vcash?

As Inchain will be running on the ETH blockchain and not a seperate blockchain a 51% attack is pretty unlikely. No one has that much hashpower just sitting around.

Ah great, thanks for clarifying for me!
