My wallet will not backup for the last 10 days now. I bought Hodl , I mined hodl, I hodled hodl for a year and now it is all stuck in my wallet.
Why is the wallet not working anymore - it says it has 8 connections but it will not backup - it says no block
What can I do? Where is the slippery dev?

Are you trying to make a new backup? What specifically is happening when you get an error?

Thanks for replying. I tried to join the chat but it did not work. All I am doing is double clicking my wallet - then it loads block index - then it opend but it does not update - it says synchronizing with network but it does not update. What should I do - I have a wallet.dat from 10 days ago.

What I mean is that once the wallet starts synchonizing it says 11 days behind and after a few hours it still says 11 days behind. It needs to be up to date to send coins out and then those coins need to be confirmed as well to be valid. The wallet is not working.

Hello HOdlcoin friends. I recently made a post here about a potential GUI wallet bug that may or may not effect this project. The post was deleted, not sure if it was automatic or done by OP/devs. Its a simple bug that warrants attention due to the potential for investors to misplace funds... I hope the post didnt appear too alarming or like it was spam. We just felt it was right to inform the community about it directly.

Hello Bek77 - someone said the coins are lost and cannot be recovered except by the people who removed the online wallet because they have a backup of everything

where can i get a list of nodes? very slow wallet sync.
goto c-cex exhange, their verge has an up to date (close) add node list.for verge it is realy large and sync going a lot better.
it will be great to add nodes list to the first page, didn't find them there as on many other coins front page.
you can use our electrum wallet (runs on tor) as it doesn't require syncing at all and the transactions are nearly instant =]

Here's the latest -
What I think happened was that a user tried HOdling before his chain was up to date. This transaction had a maturation block that was already in the past and when miners tried to process that transaction, it caused them to crash rather than just add the transaction with 0 interest.
I've included an emergency fix in the master branch that should fix this issue, although it's a little bit difficult to fully test. I recommend immediately updating while we look at issuing a point release.
Thanks to everyone for reporting the problem and especially Optiminer for the specific bug report and fix.

I am fortunate to have some HODL coins which have been hodled for nearly a year now. I am having a problem updating my wallet. It says synchronising with the network for about half an hour - I can see from the comments that there is some kind of a problem. Should we just keep trying until it is fixed? Thanks Perry

Try running in Win 7 compatibility mode. A lot of mining software fails in Win 10.
I have had no issues with the 64 bit wallet on Win10. I have successfully found several blocks over the last few days using the wallet miner. Is it possible that there is a specific piece of hardware that is causing this issue when using Win10?Try running in Win 7 compatibility mode. A lot of mining software fails in Win 10.
It seems that i am missing a lot of stuff here. I can see that there is wallet version 3.0 released. Can somebody explain difference ? Do i have to upgrade to v3.0 and blockchain redownload? Thanks
Hello I have version 2 and lots of coins in 1 year deposit. Must I upgrade to V3? I am not an expert so I appreciate a response. I do not want to lose my HODL coins. Thanks - Do I delete old and then install new wallet or just install new wallet. Can someone give me instructions please.
Just like you I was running the Version 2.0 wallet and had some coins in there that had been auto-locked. All I did was install the Version 3.0 and everything went smooth and all my coins were listed just fine after the install. I didn't uninstall Version 2.0 but I did make a fresh backup before installing 3.0. As far as I know numerous people have updated from 2.0 to 3.0 and I have not heard one instance of anyone losing coins.

When I upgraded to V3 I didn't have to replace the wallet.dat file. Bear in mind I did not change the installation directory or location of the HOdl software.
Thanks it seems to be working. I downloaded the zip and put it in a different folder. Then I ran the installation and it chose where to install. It then opened and it all seems fine.
