Anyone else not getting the confirmation email from majorminers even in their spam folder?  This is the second coin I've tried to sign up for and never got either activation email.  Yes I've checked my spam folder....

Scratch that.  It came through this time eventually.

Is anyone else getting semi-regular messages that their miner is waiting on work to become available from the pool or getting a  stratum disconnect?  It seems to be a semi-regular message where I loose 5-10 shares because of it then I'll get another message that work is now available from the pool.  This is the first time I've seen this message in any pool I've used.

Ok. I'm about to sugest that zeit.yourmine.org is a scam.

Avoid this pool for now is my absolute suggestion. I've mined there for a couple of hours and not a single coin has been added to my account, neither confirmed nor unconfirmed even though I've submitted shares in many blocks.

I wasted my time there early in the launch after I gave up on solo mining. I got 22 coins for my trouble from yourmine.  The pool seems to be finding blocks which are confirmed however no shares/coins are ever paid out.  My 22 coins never left there either even after a manual payout request.

I sure hope the Dev's follow through with the 50K giveaway for liking them on facebook as it seems the bigger miners learned from the mintcoin launch and the net hashrate was at 10Gh/s right away.

dedicatedpool was a bit of a nonstarter. And I couldn't connect with hashstrike even though the pool appear to be up and running. Now with hashrate.eu but it shouldn't have taken 25 minutes to mess around and find a working pool. Can't help feeling I've missed out now... Undecided

One of the many people who missed out due to Undedicated Pool.

Same.  I setup solo mining but that was 15min into the launch.  Judging by the miners in the pool I'm in I'm not at surprised I didn't find any blocks by the time I got up and running.  On the other hand this is the first coin I've been even close to setting up and getting solo mining working around launch.

wow 15 minutes in and I am actually solo mining for the first time at a coin launch where I may actually get a block!  Props to the Dev's for the stupid proof guide on how to setup solo mining for us noobs.  I really like the idea of PoS coins so I will happily be mining this one now that Mintcoin's rewards are dwindling and it's popular.

Well I guess I totally missed this coin launch.  I started early on the maxcoin pool that was setup to switch to helixcoin at launch only to find I only had 2 coins 6 hours later.  Turns out I 14 gave me almost entirely stale shares.  Oh well not much I can do now but learn for the next coin launch and try and get a couple of these before they are too hard to accumulate.  It's a very interesting coin so I'll look forward to seeing how things fare for it.

So how would the batch file look for solo-mining on cgminer? I've never solo-mined before and would like to know how for this launch.  I have one 7950.

Run the wallet
make config and run wallet again and leave it running (if you use the solo special it autogens a config)
Using the keccak version of cgminer linked in OP:

cgminer.exe --keccak -0 127.0.0.1:(rpc-port-number) -u (rpc user set in config) - (password set in config)

optionally set your intensity from 4-14

Best of luck at launch Cheesy

Thanks for the info.  I've also never really solo mined before or used anything other than standard scrypt mining(outside of thorcoin which I never got to work right solo).  Could you confirm that these are the right total noob steps from what I've gleaned from other (possibly wrong) sources for solo mining?

0. get miner early.
1. download and run wallet.
2. Close wallet so helix.conf file is generated
3. put miner in Huh? directory?
3. set rpcuser and rpc password to anything I want in helix.conf?
4. start wallet an leave it running
5. run cgminer using the following assuming user/pass/port is X :  cgminer.exe --keccak --no-submit-stale -o 127.0.0.1:X -u x -p x

Does the mining software have to be in the same directory as the wallet software or is it in the /roaming/helix/ dir where the helix.conf lives?
Can I set the user/pass to anything or does it have to be my wallet address or something?  I see in the miner example bat included in the miner from the OP they put what appears to be a wallet address even though they appear to be using a pool.
Is the user/pass/port I set in the .conf file important for anything else but the cgminer instance I'm running?

I'm sorry for the really dumb questions but I've not been able to get it to work successfully and I know I'm missing something stupid and I really want this to actually work for the few seconds my 6950 can actually do something productive after launch.  I was going to try and set it up with maxcoin but I can't seem to get the wallet to sync.

Anybody else noticed that the block reward on thor.zeuscoin.com is reporting as 50 coins instead of 200,000? Miner rewards are also being based on a 50 coin reward...

Yes.  I switched over to a different coin while this gets worked out.  According to the main posting it should still be 200k/block and never be 50/block

Snippet:
Block reward: 200,000, halving every three weeks down to a minimum of 500 per block.
Try mining on Cipherpool until Zeuspool resolves this issue.

Holy... that wasn't right. It's been resolved. Everyone should be receiving their appropriate THOR shortly.

Glad to hear this is getting addressed so quickly .  I see the coin total was changed from 50 to 200k.  I will look forward to rejoining the pool once the coin balances are caught up for the blocks paid out at 50 coins instead of 200k coins.

agree, no information
all rejected

Mine solo until there will be pools! Open wallet, close it. Put .conf in your appdata coin folder, edit solo-miner.bat (downlad and unpack miner) by adding your username/pass (from .comf file) and gpu settings. Start wallet again, wait until it syncs and start solo-miner.bat. If your best shares parameter changes means you're solominig successfully!

Pools are not ready but will be ready soon!

This is what I did.  however all I got was a no-suitable longpool message and lots of share below target messages.  Before I did this I was unable to start the miner at all.  My best shares is changing(up to 6.35K now) however I have a feeling I'm still doing something wrong.  My solo bat file:

thorcoinminer -o 127.0.0.1:29551 -u enterusername -p enterpassword --scrypt --Nfmin 4 --Nfmax 30 --StartT 1393167677 -I 15 -g 2   --thread-concurrency 8000 --temp-target 70 --auto-fan --gpu-vddc 1.100  --gpu-memclock 1350 --gpu-engine 945
What gpus do you have?
change that to
-g 1   --thread-concurrency 8192 or 30592 depends on your gpu

Using a 6950.  I normally run most scrypt mining at -g 2

This is my first scrypt-jane coin so perhaps I'm missing something but I was able to get the GPU miner working and my best share amount did go up to 22.4K however I didn't see much else.  When I turned verbose on I see a constant stream of "Share below target" messages.  Can someone tell me what this actually means?

Very interesting coin.  As a saver I find the PoS concept to be very appealing.  I'm glad I found this one during the initial rollout where I can accumulate a bunch of these fairly quickly before the PoW drops to 1/block.  I'll be waiting to see how the PoS works in a week or so after I hit 20 days.  I suppose it also help that I love mint.
