Re: Gold & Silver are safe than bank deposits ??
by

on 04/10/2018, 09:02:45 UTC
Gold, which is considered a common currency for hundreds of years, is an effective investment channel but due to fluctuations in the market, the gold price fluctuates continuously, creating a lot of risks for investors. Meanwhile, depositing savings is considered a safer investment, less afraid of market volatility but in terms of profitability is not high in gold.

In theory, nobody. In practice, the large conglomerates of Pump and Dump traders that artificially push or pull prices before exiting at a favorable time. With enough hashing power, you can “control” coins to a greater or lesser degree.

Bitcoin is the first digital gold and is probably the only one. Bitcoin affects all remaining cryptocurrency types. The value of Bitcoin has proven that Bitcoin is considered gold.

Re: Will countries or central banks create their own cryptocurrency?
by

⭐ Merited by OgNasty (1)
If a central bank created a cryptocurrency that they themselves couldn't manipulate (no arbitrary inflation or account closure/seizure) then it might be just as good as Bitcoin, and who cares which won? More likely, though, the central banks will create "cryptocurrencies" that are just blockchain based fiat, in which they retain the power to inflate. And in this case, how is that fundamentally better than the digital dollars we already have in our bank account?

Re: When the government forbids cryptocurrency
by

on 24/09/2018, 08:26:55 UTC
In order for a government to ban or regulate something, they must first define what it is and classify it. For example, everyone here knows that crypto to crypto trades are subject to tax because of how the government classifies cryptos. How the government classifies something is very important. It's the same reason why people have been running around lately worrying about the government classifying ETH as a security.

I have the utmost respect for Warren Buffet, I still respectfully disagree with him. I think bitcoiners can learn a great deal from him regarding his philanthropy and living modestly.

This is the actual picture just like the tulip bubble.
I'm pointing out that there is a fundamental difference between a tulip and a cryptocurrency as items, and between a crypto bubble and a commodity bubble as the phenomenon. They're not completely equitable. There was a lot of nuance surrounding recently introduced futures markets and the regulations that governed them that played into the Tulip bubble that doesn't really translate to the immediately-deliverable cryptocurrency space

Spanish would be easier, and would probably be more useful because it's spoken all over the world, but Russian it's an awesome and beautiful language (though a very difficult one to learn).

Re: If USD falls
by

The Dollar falling benefits everyone, except the US. Its impact on crypto would be marginal at best, unless it outright collapses or enters hyperinflation, in which case people may jump to crypto, but not in mass-adoption style as it's just not mainstream enough yet.

It is certain that Bitcoin will always lead and control the crypto market. Speaking of cryptocurrency, most people will think of Bitcoin. Bitcoin affects too much to other altcoins.

I definitely do not want to keep my payments in crypto. Then why you use crypto? Stay with VISA/fiat, it's fine.
Look, I don't care actually what do you want from Bitcoin. But people I talked to, they want Bitcoin to succeed and get rid of all fiat.

Re: Why government announce bitcoin is illegal?

I think it's not everywhere, only single countries like for instance Bolivia and Ecuador, and some others. I guess they fear that they cannot control whether somebody did pay enough taxes, as an example.

Bitcoin isn't gold. Gold is not a scarce resource. There is an infinite amount of gold in this universe. Stop thinking globally and start thinking universally. We will find asteroids made of gold, planets with gold cores, nebulas with particulate gold spanning lightyears. Do you know how many bitcoin we will find in the universe? 21 million.

Trezor. It's worked really well. Highly recommended. They give you a sheet to write down your recovery seed/phrase so that in the event your Trezor is lost/not supported in 30 years/whatever, you can easily recover your wallet by entering the phrase into any popular wallet service.

Re: Is the world ready for cryptocurrency?

I think the world is ready for crypto because almost everywhere in the world now, there are people who use crypto. Crypto adoption increases each passing day and that tells you how ready people are to embrace the new technology.
