Re: Mining profitability
by
peterurb
on 01/07/2020, 18:21:56 UTC
Satoshi was too smart and he made one of the best systems. When mining is not profitable for miners they will just shut down their machines and network will be temporarily slowed down, cause there will be fewer miners. But every 14 days is mining difficulty is changed so on average will be blocks mined every 10 minutes.

So you don't have to worry. The network will work, but sometimes slower and sometimes faster.

Re: Transaction price Bitcoin
by

You were truly lucky. Bitcoin is extremely used blockchain, cause of its popularity and that people don't know any other blockchain where they can have faster and much cheaper transactions. If you want to have same cheap transactions of even cheaper use Lightning Network - 2nd BTC layer which makes almost instant transactions for only few satoshis - try it out.

[2020-07-01] Researcher Says Bitcoin’s Elliptic Curve Could Have a Backdoor
by
peterurb
on 01/07/2020, 18:06:27 UTC
Quote
A Bitcoin public key is created by applying elliptic-curve cryptography to the private key. One can easily create a public key from the private key, but it is impossible to go in the reverse direction. Unless, of course, Bitcoin?s elliptic curve is compromised. Many crypto experts have noticed that Bitcoin?s choice of secp256k1 elliptic curve was unusual for its time, as it was not yet well researched.

Re: Is it true that Corona Virus may effect trading?
by
peterurb
on 01/07/2020, 17:45:29 UTC
I think, that yes. In a positive way. People who are in quarantine don't know what to do so they are trading. Or they are finding crypto Youtube channels so they are trying to invest in BTC or another crypto as ETH which had quite a good rise. But Bitcoin did well too, cause that fall to 6k USD rose only by 2 months to old prices.

Re: Is it possible to live without banks?
by
peterurb
on 01/07/2020, 17:38:34 UTC
Not now, cause when you want to pay some higher amounts like for buying your new house no one will now accept crypto, but only payment to a bank account.

In the future, crypto can make life without banks, cause everyone will use both of them or only crypto. But we have to wait for a few years to get to that state and Bitcoin can have even 1000% profit, cause everyone will want to have at least a few satoshis.

Re: How Derivatives Work in Crytocurrency.
by

on 01/07/2020, 17:28:37 UTC

I've seen there are margin options up to 4x on binance too (so you can lend 4x more than your balance and releverage from there).

But you can get even up to 150x on BTCUSDT pair.

---

Derivates are just some coin/token/security which price is reliant on the price of other asses or more of them. It will be like new Facebooks (stable)coin Libra which price will be deducted from some fiat currencies.

Re: Is it a problem if the population decreases while monetary inflation remains...
by
peterurb
on 01/07/2020, 17:21:54 UTC
Even the population decreases it will not be more, that inflation rate so we can just make lower inflation and it can be OK. But inflation is not OK and it is not normal. People are now just not thinking about it or they just don't know it and it is not fair. If I would know it I would buy Dow Jones or some stocks of companies, cause FED will just support them and I will have real profit.

Re: Which is better, staking or investing?
by
peterurb
on 01/07/2020, 17:14:43 UTC
I think, that staking is much better. You will have guaranteed earnings and you can look at https://www.stakingrewards.com/ where is also written APR of your theoretical earnings at this time and also staking pools and which is the most profitable.

Investing has higher risks, cause you have to believe some 3rd part - coin developers - that will have to hard work and make the price rise.

On staking there is even bigger income and that coins/tokens are much older and working well - otherwise their price will go extremely down.

Re: Why it’s important to avoid telling everyone about your crypto holdings
by
peterurb
on 01/07/2020, 17:04:49 UTC
1. People who don't understand crypto will think, that you are just trying to lose your money, or you did a bad thing
2. IRS can force you to sell your crypto - really there is an article https://news.bitcoin.com/irs-tells-couple-with-7-million-in-bitcoin-to-liquidate-crypto-assets-and-pay-off-tax-debt/
3. You can be liked with some coins which are from some crypto "robbery", but you bought them legally

Re: [2020-06-04] Bloomberg: “Bitcoin Toward $20,000 in 2020"
by
peterurb
on 01/07/2020, 16:53:34 UTC
These predictions are mostly random and they are making a prediction with stock market examples.
1. Bitcoin is doing almost random things at the price
2. Bitcoin will never be like the stocks - it is opened 24/7 and there are no regulations - can't just stop trading so people will not be panicking so much.

So Bloomberg - you just wasted your time. But we are glad, that you are interested in crypto.

Re: Bitcoins joins the bank
by
peterurb
on 01/07/2020, 16:43:38 UTC
I don't think, that it will join in some big way. Crypto is extremely volatile and only few % of their money to Bitcoin and they can even rise price even by a few hundred USD. But I am sure, that they will buy or make some ETFs and they are now very interesting even for institutional investors, cause it is hard for them to buy real BTC.

Re: Bitcoin market cap
by
peterurb
on 01/07/2020, 16:37:20 UTC
I don't think so. What if someone is only HODLing it or will find back private keys and sell them? That means that Coinmarketcap will have to change the circulation amount every time when some coins which were marked as lost. That's extremely weird and it doesn't work even at gold or dollars. And even without changing of the market cap will Bitcoin have an increasing price for even a few decades and will be very profitable.

by

This is great way to gain bigger privacy. Even no one will wait it there, I am always saying, that better will be to have Monero also there. But people are still saying, that no one accepts it and they don't buy it. And shops are not offering payment option, cause no one pays with it. But there will be still people who will use it and their number will only rise.

Re: A lot of Americans still don't know what Bitcoin is
by
peterurb

They are having very strong regulations for buying so they are not having so much Bitcoin ATMs. But on CNBC - American market TV is now recognizing Bitcoin somehow legit and they are not saying how invaluable it is. But still, crypto-adoption is in this country very slow and they are rather using Paypal.

Re: bitcoin.org , in danger of being compromised??
by

on 01/07/2020, 16:16:20 UTC
I am much sadder from Bitcoin.com website. When I was there for the first time I was really upset, that they are mostly prioritizing Bitcoin Cash and I think, that at Bitcoin.com they are using Bitcoin's name for casino or exchange which is not nice.

Bitcoin.org is mostly community made website and they are also having donation wallet so they can even have profit from that site.

Re: Financial Crisis Will Come
by
peterurb
on 01/07/2020, 12:13:46 UTC
I don't think, that crisis will come. FED will print more money and everything will be again back - "working". Only money will lose value. But there is not enough people who are interested in it and will want to change the system, cause it is some-how working. But sometimes will be the system changed.

by
peterurb
on 01/07/2020, 12:04:08 UTC
Now I think, that if you will sell your stocks you will make a big mistake. I think, that stocks have huge potential now to rise. So in my opinion now it is bad to sell your stocks. But if you have some capital to buy BTC not from stocks it will be good, cause it is a great payment system.

I know P2P exchange LocalCoinSwap, where you can trade also Altcoins and your USDT (but it has extremely huge fees). But if you are worried, that your BTC will lose price though the time of changing it. It takes only few minutes to change it so you will not lose so much money.

Theses QUIZzes are very good for internet safety. These quizzes are interesting and good for schools where kids can learn something. But there are many antiviruses - add-ons for web browsers or even computer programmes. Also, Gmail is detecting fake emails which are not really sent from that email.

Re: Be careful of shitcoins
by

Yes, you are right. There are thousands of shitcoins. You can pay even 100 USD for some stupid coins from some unknown creators which will only take your money and stop to develop that token. That's why I am only buy ICOs from well-known incubators.
