will the the blockchain size be the downfall of bitcoin?
by
phillip1882
on 03/04/2017, 18:59:45 UTC
the size of the block chain is ever expanding, by the year 2100 i predict it will be over 1 terabyte, making bitcoin unmanageable for ordinary people who want to run a node. which means we will have to trust our bitcoins to some third party intermediary at some point in the future. do you see this as a problem or no?

thought on wht bitcoin will buy in the future
by
phillip1882
on 08/04/2016, 20:46:58 UTC
though i think eventually bitcoin will go to a million dollars, simply because u.s.a. keeps inflating its currency, i don't think bitcoin will necessarily buy  more goods and services than it does right now. that is, it won't buy more eggs, but it will take 10000 dollars to buy a dozen eggs. I'm holding onto bitcoin as insurance against the malfeasance of the banks.

Re: What's your biggest problem with Bitcoin
by
phillip1882

i'm personally not worried about the conformation times, there are many ways to fix that problem, such as using coinbase, or some other trusted third party.
my concern is the limit. what are we going to do when 98% of the currency is mined, and a vast majority of it is held by a few people, as it is now?
my personal suggestion, would be to make the number of bitcoins unlimited, but always produce the same amount every year. that makes bitcoin predictable, and keeps it valuable.

alright we got more than enough people here already signed up. i don't want anyone to feel too left out so I'm going to do something extra special and donate an extra 50$ worth of bitcoin split between all remaining participants.
51 people signed up, so that's 46 people that will get approx 1 dollars worth of bitcoin.
the five primary winners are *drum-roll please*
12 -hardcoresuperstar
28 -katerniko1
 4 -crimbit
23 - sekaiisobig
19 -davids
they each get 10 dollars worth of bitcoin. congrats!
and congrats to everyone, thank you for believing in me.

donating bitcoin
by

since its the holiday season, thought i would donate 10$ worth of bitcoin to 5 lucky winners. if you want the bitcoin, just post here with your receiving address by nov. 27 everyone that does so will be given a chance to win proportional to the number of people that sign up. i ask that you don't sign up if you already have 1 bitcoin or more.
