Hello

Can you help me please, installed the wallet on windows, but it doesnt sync at all (out of sync, in red). Other problem (maybe?), the address given by my wallet is starting with a D and all addresses I see on the Notohash pool starts with a S (I have auth fail on the pool then)

Thanks

Here are some nodes to help you to sync your wallet:

Re: Network Attack on XVG / VERGE
by

on 05/04/2018, 08:00:20 UTC

Hello,

The XVG wallet address you mentionned is UniMining XVG wallet. UniMining is a public pool where the miners mine together on a pool. All earnings that are generated by pool are sent to miners.

Can you show me some proofs that I am the attacker ? I'd like to understand the issue to prevent any wrong use of UniMining.

I complained also about this issue so I don't think that I'd be using my public pool to do this:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3256693.msg33927153#msg33927153

Thank you for ocminer help on this problem/attack,

Best Regards,

nice a new version of the famed timewarp attack.. very interesting.

yep.. we pushed a quick fix and most pools have already updated.. we're already working on a whole new block verification process.

we're kinda glad this happened and that it wasn't as bad as it could have been.

Hmm, you guys are aware that the "fix" you pushed actually IS a hardfork ? So your blockchain snapshot is not valid anymore, the wallet's won't sync up from scratch anymore and the current chain is simply not usable anymore with that new "fix" ?

Your change simply disagrees with the attackers blocks, the first block I see from the attacker was 2007365 - so the wallets will stop syncing there and simply not progress any further.

I remember your first forking dramas when trying to fork into Tor which failed 2 times IIRC.

You should immediately refrain from that "fix" and set a proper fork-height (at least 48h) and the chain up until the fork block MUST accept blocks with the old timestamps and blocks after that fork block then only with the new timestamp.

bumping this for awareness

Thank you ocminer, I hope that dev coin team will fix this problem and warn pools in a timely manner if a fork should be done. i'd be happy that we revert the coins mined by the attacker.

From what I know they won't roll back and just move on.. However, they still must do the hardfork in a proper way

I'd prefer that XVG coin dev team decide to roll back to cancel the coins mined during the hack, it is better I think.

What do you think guys ?

Posted here for reference as the other Topic is self-moderated and this will probably get deleted:

There's currently a >51% attack going on on XVG which exploits a bug in retargeting in the XVG code.

Usually to successfully mine XVG blocks, every "next" block must be of a different algo.. so for example scrypt, then x17, then lyra etc.

Due to several bugs in the XVG code, you can exploit this feature by mining blocks with a spoofed timestamp. When you submit a mined block (as a malicious miner or pool) you simply
set a false timestamp to this block one hour ago and XVG will then "think" the last block mined on that algo was one hour ago.. Your next block, the subsequent block
will then have the correct time.. And since it's already an hour ago (at least that is what the network thinks) it will allow this block to be added to the main chain as well.

This is what is going on since about 06:00 UTC of 04.04.2018:

Code:

As you can see in the text above, those blocks are all subsequent, so one miner gets them all and you see there's 90 min difference between all the blocks, thats one bug the miner is
exploiting. You also see the correct time is the latter time.. so the last block ended on 13:51:06 and the block before was 12:17:47 and the block with the correct time before that one
was at 13:51:05 .. That means the hacker is mining one block per second !

The vergeDEV @ Discord says "everything is okay - there's nothing to fix"..

Since about 99% blocks by legit pools are rejected - and the dev team is not able to understand this problem, i'm closing and removing all VERGE pools from suprnova.

Here's a incomplete list of the malicious addresses:

Hi,

We also noticed that all blake2s blocks of XVG were orphan on UniMining.net mining pool. As discussed on IRC, we think that there was a problem or attack.

Unsure why but it seems that all miners of the world were not able to mine XVG during 3 hours and that only a small group were able to mine it.

Thank you for your help on IRC to find the root-cause of it,

Best Regards,

Dear Cerberus community,

Cerberus (CBS) is now available on unimining.net mining pool

How to mine Cerberus?

You'll find more details about "How to mine Cerberus (CBS) with AMD or nVidia ?" on UniMining forum.

For nVidia cards, we suggest you to use the last release of CCminer : https://github.com/tpruvot/ccminer/releases
Quote
ccminer-x64 -a neoscrypt -o stratum+tcp://neoscrypt.eu1.unimining.net:4244 -u Your_CBS_Wallet_Address -p c=CBS --cpu-priority=3

According to your hardware, other miner application can deliver better hashrate (KlausT's ccminer, palginpav's ccminer, palginpav's hsrminer).

For AMD cards, we suggest Claymore AMD neoscrypt miner and Gateless Gate but you should test different miner according to your mining hardware.

Block Explorer
A block explorer is available:
https://www.unimining.net/explorer/CBS

Nodes
You'll also find some nodes if you have problems to sync your wallet:
https://www.unimining.net/explorer/peers?id=2215

Low latency, scalable and secure mining pool infrastructure
Dear Denarius community,

Recently, Denarius had problems on UniMining mining pool, we appology for these issues. We performed reimbursements as compensation for the hashrate lost. All problems are solved and compensated nobody complained nor noticed these problems until now). A new block was found few hours ago and correctly paid. Thank you for your patience and special thanks to the regular DNR miners that mine on UniMining since months !

If you want to join our 30 000 regular miners, please feel free to mine with us.

How to mine Denarius ❓
Use the following parameters with your preferred mining software (replace WALLET with your wallet address):
Code:
-a tribus -o stratum+tcp://tribus.eu1.unimining.net:8533 -u WALLET -p c=DNR

On UniMining forum, you'll find more explanations about How to mine Denarius.

For any issue, please report to UniMining team on our Discord.

Hey all,  Im mining with a rig that has 2x GTX 1070 and 3x gtx 1080.  I have been using ccminer fork, tpruvot and am getting about 65 mh/s on yiimp.eu  Wondering if ccminer/tpruvot is the most optimized for Nvidia and tribus, and thoughts on the best pool.

Also wondering why Denarius is perfoming so well against BTC while only being on a few exchanges with NO-one really talking about it as a privacy coin or otherwise..

Also any overclocking tips for Tribus?

Hi,

Hashrate may be increased according to the choice of the miner application (tpruvot/ccminer or carsenk/ccminer for nVidia, I don't remember if KlausT and alexis78 forks of ccminer have tribus algo), the version of your GPU drivers (please test using different versions) and your overclocking setting (usually, I reduce TDV and power consumption and I increase some frequencies).

You can also change parameters of ccminer to increase your hashrate, here is a short explanation on How to mine Denarius:
https://forum.unimining.net/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2

Here are some links that may help you:

my address. mining several hours, there were accruals, then checked, 0. now again slightly . for a few hours mining the accruals disappeared.
screenshots did not.

Hi,

I'll have a look, sorry for the issue. For any problem, please use UniMining discord, it's easier to discuss and UniMining can react more quickly.

Hi,

I think that it is a display issue and that you'll receive your earnings when they'll be confirmed. Now about 0.4 DSR is in immature state (not available yet on pool wallet).

https://image.ibb.co/hHzXfS/graph_display_error.png
In red, I can see a display problem on the pool. I think that the database had a temporary issue that leaded to 0 values during few seconds. Calculations and earnings seems correct except the wrong values in the graph.

We'll work on this display issue but we prefer to enhance mining (to enhance your profits) than working on display issues, I'll have a look on this one but I think that no coin was lost.

https://image.ibb.co/cov8n7/graph_display_error2.png
During the few minutes that I wrote this message, your confirmed/matured balance (in details at the top) changed from 0 DSR to 0.04 DSR, it should increase constantly over time.

For any issues, explanations or questions, we can discuss on UniMining discord.

Thank you for mining with us,

Have a nice mining
